Shall we anticipate the FIFTH SEASON of the AMC series "Breaking Bad"? I think I may.

true, but Jesse wouldn't let Mike squeeze out Walt because, as pointed out above, he doesn't have enough faith in himself.

I think Skyler is sharp enough to figure out how not to go to jail over this.

heh

r|t|c, Friday, 3 August 2012 09:38 (thirteen years ago)

although the cut to the money-counting machine sounding like gunfire was a little more clever

I thought it was an homage to Scarface!

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vT8OU5WtfkQ

And that Rage game was a direct commercial tie-in. That and the Dodge Charger are both items Gilligan has copped to promoting for $$.

pplains, Friday, 3 August 2012 15:39 (thirteen years ago)

Man that is the dumbest greatest sequence of all motion cinema.

pplains, Friday, 3 August 2012 15:42 (thirteen years ago)

pontiac aztek tie-in was a huge misstep imo

vincent black shadow giallo (Edward III), Friday, 3 August 2012 15:44 (thirteen years ago)

Yeah, I saw the money counter thing as a blatant homage

Nhex, Friday, 3 August 2012 16:04 (thirteen years ago)

scarface is a really lame movie
/challops

I dont even know that I think this sucks per se (forksclovetofu), Friday, 3 August 2012 16:10 (thirteen years ago)

I didn't see Scarface until about five years ago. I had planned for this Cuban Goodfellas thing mixed with Miami Vice and was kind of surprised how much it shared in common with lame Saturday night HBO movies from 1986. But it's so bad, it's good, and I don't like using that compliment very often. The walking-through-the-camera effect in that montage kills me every time.

Who do I feel the most sorry for? Guy who dies in a clown suit, that's who.

Ya but no one bothers to write 1500-word summaries of each ep on this thread

Currently out-of-town for the week and will miss tonight's episode, so one of those recaps will have to suffice. No hulu or amctv here...

aerosmith suck because their corporate rock that sucks (Myonga Vön Bontee), Sunday, 5 August 2012 19:13 (thirteen years ago)

there are places to watch these things

lag∞n, Sunday, 5 August 2012 19:14 (thirteen years ago)

amc reruns it like 50 times/week
iTunes & amazon sell episodes for like $2
Friends have on demand/dvr
Free on seedy Internet places if u have no morals.

Clay, Sunday, 5 August 2012 19:44 (thirteen years ago)

i can't imagine having to wait a few days to see a new ep of a favorite show and thinking 'welp i guess i'll just read an online recap instead'

contender's game (some dude), Sunday, 5 August 2012 21:17 (thirteen years ago)

It's funny that it's Walt that is turning into the greedy megalomaniac, considering how Walt & Jesse were at the beginning.

Now Jesse wants everything Walt has, the money has brought him so much sadness...and Walt is at the point where he loves his family as long as they serve his plans. Like if Walt Jr found out & confronted Walt,
you now start to wonder would Walt harm his own son? If Skylar bolted, would Walt hunt her down or worse?

Shit is kinda fascinating to me now. Sorry for blathering.

pretty sure i just saw badger in an old episode of gilmore girls

just1n3, Sunday, 5 August 2012 22:59 (thirteen years ago)

(Pretty sure you did, because I'm pretty sure I know what episode of Gilmore Girls you're thinking of.)

Man, this just isn't fun anymore. Which is not to in any way say it isn't good (I feel like a broken record at this point, but each new episode just strengthens my belief that I'm watching the best dramatic series of all time), just that the rollercoaster ride has been supplanted by the Tunnel of Dread. Every scene with Walt and Skyler alone in their bedroom is like a horror movie to me now.

Old Lunch, Monday, 6 August 2012 03:51 (thirteen years ago)

i'm lovin the Tunnel of Dread! Gunn killed it in this ep

Nhex, Monday, 6 August 2012 04:05 (thirteen years ago)

if i had to deal with two or three seasons of this i would get burnt out. as endgame it's pretty thrilling.

jesus skylar is a freaky presence

Author ~ Coach ~ Goddess (s1ocki), Monday, 6 August 2012 06:24 (thirteen years ago)

Having a hard time parsing Walt's motivation at this point, now that he's put his family behind him.

calstars, Monday, 6 August 2012 11:08 (thirteen years ago)

Ego.

Matt DC, Monday, 6 August 2012 11:14 (thirteen years ago)

the cards-on-table scene between walt & skylar was so, so, so good

yep

lag∞n, Monday, 6 August 2012 12:53 (thirteen years ago)

walt is so massively clueless, its amazing

lag∞n, Monday, 6 August 2012 12:53 (thirteen years ago)

I would have omitted that dumb car scene in favor of more floating.

nicest bitch of poster (La Lechera), Monday, 6 August 2012 13:33 (thirteen years ago)

Like an extended Skylar floating in the pool dream sequence, with music.

nicest bitch of poster (La Lechera), Monday, 6 August 2012 13:33 (thirteen years ago)

Just saying that I loved that part, not that I want to actually do those things

nicest bitch of poster (La Lechera), Monday, 6 August 2012 13:33 (thirteen years ago)

as soon as they did that enging revving scene in the driveway i thought, "woof rian johnson's gonna have fun in this episode"

Nhex, Monday, 6 August 2012 13:39 (thirteen years ago)

it did crack me up, so mission accomplished

Nhex, Monday, 6 August 2012 13:40 (thirteen years ago)

walt's hubris just gets more and more fascinating

love all this tension

thinking abt mike wanting to kill lydia it occurred to me that hes prob too risk adverse to be in charge, tho tbf he is dealing a bunch of fools he never shouldve gotten involved w/in the first place

More Godfather 2 than Scarface now. Leasing a couple of new Chryslers isn't exactly the kingpin lifestyle, but there was a definite "it was a son, Michael" vibe to Skylar vowing to keep the kids away from Walt. "...until the cancer comes back" = icy icy cold.

but that wouldn't have been quite as tense
