I don't think walt or jesse would have any compunction about cooking at their mom's house

― lag∞n, Monday, 30 July 2012 14:24 (thirteen years ago)

this eps was ok, seemed more about mechanics than character or moving the plot the forward tho I must point out
skinny pete on the keyshe probably threatened somebody before breakfast, it's what he does, grow a pairanybody screaming shut up over and over at marie is funny even if they're having a nervous breakdown
― vincent black shadow giallo (Edward III), Monday, 30 July 2012 14:29 (thirteen years ago)
haha yes
― lag∞n, Monday, 30 July 2012 14:30 (thirteen years ago)
btw walt n jesse lil heart to heart, seems like they can p much only relate to each other now, completely emotionally alienated from the rest of the world
it is sunday― lag∞n

No, it is Monday morning, and I got the dutiful Apple email telling me that the new ep is ready first thing when I woke up. :)

for real
she was being really annoying, but i thought true to character, always cheerfully talking about how awful things are

was the convo at the end about Victor a veiled threat to Jesse? "don't be like Victor and go thinking you can do this on your own or you might get your throat cut" is what I got out of it
the other thing was just Walt trying to break up Jesse and whats her name so he doesn't have to have the kid around bothering his conscience
― dmr, Monday, 30 July 2012 15:44 (thirteen years ago)
think it was a heads up to jesse that he could see mike outliving his usefulness if he keeps overstepping his boundaries
― I dont even know that I think this sucks per se (forksclovetofu), Monday, 30 July 2012 15:55 (thirteen years ago)
it is p unfair that they have to take such a big chunk to make mike's guys whole
― funny-skrillex-bee_132455836669.gif (s1ocki), Monday, 30 July 2012 16:01 (thirteen years ago)
ya at first i thought he might be threatening jesse but then i settled on it being abt mike xp
― lag∞n, Monday, 30 July 2012 16:03 (thirteen years ago)
so i don't think walt has ever proactively killed anyone that wasn't actively on the way to killing him, right? somebody who, if he left them alive, he'd have no fear of retaliation? Gus was close but it seemed walt had determined that fring was gonna get him sooner or later. Walt's never actively CHOSEN to kill a man he hasn't had to. Wondering if that's the final payoff here and the end of his corruption.
― I dont even know that I think this sucks per se (forksclovetofu), Monday, 30 July 2012 16:05 (thirteen years ago)
he almost killed the kid via poisoning

― dmr, Monday, 30 July 2012 16:06 (thirteen years ago)

I like how each of the episodes this year so far has had more of a self-contained narrative than in previous seasons. Gives each quite a distinctive mood.

BTW, I thought Walt's new cooking plan was totally bitchin, ludicrous as it may be.

"Breakdown, what does that mean?"
"It means I don't know what else to call it."
Yeah, that's pretty much the definition of "breakdown."

all the skylar scenes this season have been so uncomfortable, i can barely watch them

i feel like the scarface scene had more to do with AMC mob week than breaking bad reallyshades or RAGE for the 360
― I dont even know that I think this sucks per se (forksclovetofu), Monday, 30 July 2012 17:44 (thirteen years ago)
Scarface was an on the nose (up the nose?) choice.
― I wish to incorporate disco into my small business (chap), Monday, 30 July 2012 17:45 (thirteen years ago)
yep it was kind of strange seeing the ads featuring scarface and then oh hey here he is inside the show

lol do you guys think they shot this episode the other day? Episode was shot, then AMC said "hey they mention Scarface on this episode of BB - let's tie in some programming to that"

i thought walt could've been talking about himself! i mean i dont think he actually was, but it def feels like foreshadowing of walter overreaching and going down for it. in the season opener we find him in a desperate place, my assumption has been that hes gonna get there by way of a series of events like homer simpson tumbling down the ravine
― Hungry4Ass, Monday, 30 July 2012 18:03 (thirteen years ago)
you know, i was a little ticked when i found out about the split season, but now that we've started into s5 im actually glad they're doing it this way. i think that extra time's really gonna help them stick the landing (ie. we get a better payoff than the plane crash)
chap - three stooges dude
mike and walt are both battling to be moe
― Hungry4Ass, Monday, 30 July 2012 18:04 (thirteen years ago)
Surely you mean Curly.
― cue "White Rabbit" (kenan), Monday, 30 July 2012 18:08 (thirteen years ago)
(hey, that rhymes!)
the last shot of the series will be walt spinning on the floor like curly

Ah, I thought it might be the 3 Stooges, but they never caught on over here as far as I'm aware. I only know about them from references in other media.

Wondering how Todd is going to come into this in the next few episodes.
― cue "White Rabbit" (kenan), Monday, 30 July 2012 18:23 (thirteen years ago)
I think Todd will be the first guy Walt kills just to show he's tough.
