I won't be able to listen to this until I get home from work, but thanks, Triple J.

We can't apologize enough for the delay. It's just that ... well, the infection got worse, and I'm sad to say the octopus wasn't doing very well, and nobody goes on forever, I'm not going to go on forever, you're not going to go on forever, and now the octopus has passed away. I would have posted a thread about it, but the last thing the octopus told me was "Don't bother ILX, they're enjoying their weekend. They're busy, don't spoil the weekend for them." The service was wonderful, though, very well-attended, and the pastor spoke beautifully. Like a friend. The food the first night wasn't so good, it was just deli, but after that people brought things over, and it was all delicious -- we still have some in the fridge.

As far as PayPal goes, surely you jest! I can't imagine why anyone would send us money. If anyone is seriously dying to give me stuff, I'll happily set up an account, but I think you're just being silly.

John Jacob Jinglesmith, Tuesday, 6 September 2005 14:25 (twenty years ago)

do me!

huell howser (chaki), Tuesday, 6 September 2005 14:32 (twenty years ago)

I would gladly donate $20 to help defray costs of putting this stuff on-line. I jest not.

Maria :D (Maria D.), Tuesday, 6 September 2005 14:41 (twenty years ago)

I wanna hear a chaki jingle, cuz I think nobody knows chaki better than JJJ.

Maria :D (Maria D.), Tuesday, 6 September 2005 14:48 (twenty years ago)

is it too late to ask for a jingle? i seriously need one for my radio program or just to hum along as i walk to work.

maria tessa sciarrino (theoreticalgirl), Wednesday, 7 September 2005 00:49 (twenty years ago)

you're serious, a lot of the time

So sad it had to end.

mark grout (mark grout), Friday, 23 September 2005 07:43 (twenty years ago)

this thread lies!

Ste (Fuzzy), Friday, 23 September 2005 07:46 (twenty years ago)

I was so close too :-(

Onimo (GerryNemo), Friday, 23 September 2005 07:49 (twenty years ago)

and no closer to finding out Jinglesource's true identity.
he stormed the audioscrobbler charts, then promptly disappeared.
i doff my cap to thee.

g-kit (g-kit), Friday, 23 September 2005 09:13 (twenty years ago)

yeah jinglesmith you tease you.

Lupton Pitman (Chris V), Friday, 23 September 2005 09:13 (twenty years ago)

I was just wondering what happened, to JJJ, when this thread was revived.

O'so Krispie (Ex Leon), Friday, 23 September 2005 10:14 (twenty years ago)

who still need a jingle? i'll do you one if you like

ken c (ken c), Friday, 23 September 2005 10:22 (twenty years ago)

I'd still like one.... WHERE DID JJJ GO?!!?!

Dammit.

giboyeux (skowly), Friday, 23 September 2005 11:42 (twenty years ago)

i wanted one to put as my ring tone, but it would have to be something pretty special to replace my ghostbusters hearse siren

Ste (Fuzzy), Friday, 23 September 2005 11:44 (twenty years ago)

god i really am a fuckwit

Ste (Fuzzy), Friday, 23 September 2005 11:45 (twenty years ago)

If anybody wants to change their screen name to Rock Hardy, they can have my jingle. I was not enormously impressed by it.

Rock Hardy (Rock Hardy), Friday, 23 September 2005 12:30 (twenty years ago)

Success has spoiled Rock Hardy.

O'so Krispie (Ex Leon), Friday, 23 September 2005 12:31 (twenty years ago)

talk about ungrateful

RJG (RJG), Friday, 23 September 2005 12:32 (twenty years ago)

IT WAS/IS HANLE Y DO YOU SEE??? WHO ELSE AMONG US HAS THE TECHNOLOGY AND THE TWEE??

Jimmy Mod Loves Alan Canseco (The Famous Jimmy Mod), Friday, 23 September 2005 13:11 (twenty years ago)

Rock Hardy you could get it remixed.

Sociah T Azzahole (blueski), Friday, 23 September 2005 13:12 (twenty years ago)

well, i do.
but it wasn't me.

g-kit (g-kit), Friday, 23 September 2005 13:12 (twenty years ago)

I meant to e-mail JJJ, to thank him, for my jingle

RJG (RJG), Friday, 23 September 2005 13:13 (twenty years ago)

Rock Hardy you could get it remixed.

See, I never think about things like that. I should add that I thought at least 80% of the jingles were brilliant, so whoever JJJ is, hats off to you.

Rock Hardy (Rock Hardy), Friday, 23 September 2005 13:16 (twenty years ago)

somebody needs to archive these somewhere. i missed everything, including my own remix!

mark p (Mark P), Friday, 23 September 2005 13:22 (twenty years ago)

I meant to e-mail JJJ, to thank him, for my jingle

I meant to as well, but I am terrible about remembering that sort of thing.

Mark, I think I have most of the jingles on my computer at home, I could do a ysi or something if you'd like.

O'so Krispie (Ex Leon), Friday, 23 September 2005 13:27 (twenty years ago)

I was waiting for the eventual CD release -- didn't JJJ mutter something about that? But a YSI would be spiff.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Friday, 23 September 2005 13:28 (twenty years ago)

I KNOW WHO IT IS....HEHEHE.

Lupton Pitman (Chris V), Friday, 23 September 2005 13:35 (twenty years ago)

I'm trying to just appreciate JJJ for what he did do instead of what he didn't do. He momentarily restored my love of the interweb.

Maria :D (Maria D.), Friday, 23 September 2005 13:39 (twenty years ago)

When I last saw RJG in person we both thought it was the same person. I keep meaning to email him too. If he is actually JJJ.

Anna (Anna), Friday, 23 September 2005 13:40 (twenty years ago)

Haha. And he IS a tease!

Laurel (Laurel), Friday, 23 September 2005 13:48 (twenty years ago)

ach, it was only that Amber and Alice was one of the next ups.

mark grout (mark grout), Friday, 23 September 2005 13:50 (twenty years ago)

Maybe, like Frosty the Snowman, he'll be back again some day.

O'so Krispie (Ex Leon), Friday, 23 September 2005 16:16 (twenty years ago)

i seriously doubt Frosty ever came back, by the way. there's no way he'd survive the summer. think about it.

g-kit (g-kit), Saturday, 24 September 2005 07:57 (twenty years ago)

I was only 9 away from getting a jingle as well :( Perhaps having to encapsulate Ned in song was all too much for JJJ.

ailsa (ailsa), Saturday, 24 September 2005 08:41 (twenty years ago)

Did anyone ever archive these?

Matt DC (Matt DC), Sunday, 25 September 2005 14:56 (twenty years ago)

Perhaps having to encapsulate Ned in song was all too much for JJJ.

It was an overwhelming feat.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Sunday, 25 September 2005 15:03 (twenty years ago)

I can't apologize enough for the delay. After the octopus passed, everything went downhill. It can get a little hectic down here. We're doing out best to provide all promised jingles. In the meantime, here's the full jinglesource archive.

John Jacob Jinglesmith, Sunday, 25 September 2005 17:42 (twenty years ago)

hooray!

still patiently waiting for my jingle
