its the second ) - ilx never catches it
― lag∞n, Tuesday, 24 July 2012 19:14 (thirteen years ago)
you guys must've hated the end of the godfather
In fairness, Michael's shown to be a lying, dishonorable fuck (killed his bro-in-law, denies it to his wife), and in II even moreso (kills his brother).
― Pangborn to be Wilde (Dr Morbius), Tuesday, 24 July 2012 19:15 (thirteen years ago)
yeah, there is absolutely no antagonism between Walt and Jesse in season 1. They are total bros.
― sarahell, Tuesday, 24 July 2012 19:17 (thirteen years ago)
jesse is not the antagonist in any season of the show, the have a rocky relationship but he is in fact walts closest ally
― lag∞n, Tuesday, 24 July 2012 19:19 (thirteen years ago)
you want to see some s1 antagonists:
Maximino Arciniega as Krazy-8 Molina (3 episodes)Raymond Cruz as Tuco Salamanca (2 episodes)
― lag∞n, Tuesday, 24 July 2012 19:21 (thirteen years ago)
neither of whom im sry to report ever revealed themselves to be lovable in comparison to gus
eh, I'd say he was Walt's antagonist in the first episode, maybe the first two, until we get to crazy 8, his cousin, and so on.
― sarahell, Tuesday, 24 July 2012 19:21 (thirteen years ago)
the antagonist is CANCER
― I DIED, Tuesday, 24 July 2012 19:24 (thirteen years ago)
when does cancer become a loveable rogue
― johnny crunch, Tuesday, 24 July 2012 19:24 (thirteen years ago)
it was rough the way jesse was antagonizing walt getting tracked down in his back yard and offered a business proposal
― lag∞n, Tuesday, 24 July 2012 19:25 (thirteen years ago)
Aren't krazy and emilio in the first episode? And they try to kill Walt and Jesse? Like an antagonist might do?
― pun lovin criminal (polyphonic), Tuesday, 24 July 2012 19:26 (thirteen years ago)
i mean stay out of yr back yard otherwise the poor guy is gonna come try to get to to cook meth w/him in the desert and youre going to do it you monster
― lag∞n, Tuesday, 24 July 2012 19:26 (thirteen years ago)
okay okay okay i give up, it isn't as tidy as that, but it is related in the sense that as a viewer you are put in a position of moral relativism between scumbag 1 and scumbag 2, except that scumbag 1 is the protagonist, Walt.

was thinking more of vito - an old school guy with a code who lives to a ripe old age, dies peacefully
maybe breaking bad will end with mike having a heart attack while playing hungry hippos or feeding his chickens

i agree it was awesome they way they did it on deadwood but i just dont see it operating much on breaking bad which is more just abt the moral decline of walt - tho i guess you could say if you wanted to stretch it that hes taking baby steps to villianhood by taking a relative view of his past indiscretions
― lag∞n, Tuesday, 24 July 2012 19:47 (thirteen years ago)
the oh so delicate baby steps of poisoning a child

http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-EKBerN0vACQ/TpUyHb_p-6I/AAAAAAAAInc/i-nPF_BbRJQ/s1600/aw+hell+yeah.jpgone of my fave little details from this ep was that the kid's picture on the fridge behind walt when he was trying to pitch mike to help him set up shop included, in child's script, the phrase "blue is good"

ok - so that fucking CNN piece did the same thing everyone here was doing when Walt "Let Jane die".he had previously handed Jesse a gun and told him to take care of the guys the ripped them off. literally ordered him to kill some people. but everyone flew off the handle later on, when he watched this attractive young girl choke to death on her own vomit; saying that he had "gone too far" and yadda yadda.
just a thing that always bothered me about peoples reaction to this show - letting an attractive girl die is in no way worse than ordering the murder of two junkies, people!

of all the big HBO/AMC shows from the past decade or so i think only The Sopranos was really adept at using music
― Number None, Tuesday, 24 July 2012 23:33 (thirteen years ago)
and yet The Sopranos had the worst theme song of them all
― nakhchi little van (some dude), Wednesday, 25 July 2012 01:07 (thirteen years ago)
you had the worst...etc

― set the controls for the heart of the sun (VegemiteGrrl), Wednesday, 25 July 2012 03:33 (thirteen years ago)
The Sopranos theme worked because it was exactly the dumb kind of edgy song some mobster would pick as his show open.
― pplains, Wednesday, 25 July 2012 03:44 (thirteen years ago)
Used to goose sunny at the end when it would do the whip-pow! thing.
― pplains, Wednesday, 25 July 2012 03:45 (thirteen years ago)
The Wire had the best theme music
― sarahell, Wednesday, 25 July 2012 04:03 (thirteen years ago)
i wasnt super crazy about the cold open cuz it was so obv the guy was gonna kill himself in some inventive breaking bad way, i kept thinking, the only way this scene is gonna surprise me is if he doesnt do it
― funny-skrillex-bee_132455836669.gif (s1ocki), Wednesday, 25 July 2012 05:31 (thirteen years ago)
Terriers had the best theme song of the past few years
― Number None, Wednesday, 25 July 2012 10:15 (thirteen years ago)
I love the Terriers theme song. I liked John from Cincinnati's better, but that one was kind of cheating.
― ms. cookie (carl agatha), Wednesday, 25 July 2012 12:55 (thirteen years ago)

At this point basically everyone needs to go to jail except Walt Jr., and even then, they should send him to useless character jail. It almost seemed like an in joke when they made a point of showing that he .... DID NOT FINISH HIS BREAKFAST
uh, wasnt that a shot of skylar's breakfast, the point being she still hadnt left her bedrest?
― funny-skrillex-bee_132455836669.gif (s1ocki), Wednesday, 25 July 2012 14:49 (thirteen years ago)
