i've been eating a lot of pizza lately. i think the best is when we get pizza dough from TJs and put our own toppings/sauce on it, but we get delivery sometimes (usually from la villa) or frozen tombstone or TJs pizza. i like homemade pizza co. but usually TJs dough + toppings is just as good and easy and a lot cheaper.

Pretty much the only pizza we ever do is TJ's frozen pizza, which is like $4, iirc. We get the margherita one and then chop up a few of our own veggies to put on top.

I'm gonna try to do the RevBrew thing.

Atlas is going to start serving their own beers tonight.

I can't go tonight for perhaps the dorkiest reason ever.

I would love to go (and also see you guys) but I have a date with my demon lover, Agalloch.

HOW ABOUT THAT?! It feels like a brand new world out there, a world I can go out into and not sizzle like a pierogi.

Jeff has been to A Christmas Carol in Klingon, ffs, I doubt Batman would seem dorky to him even if he were in costume.

I'm pleased about the weather. I am annoyed with my fellow Chicagoans who think that a high of 81 means jacket weather. Dummies. I'm not pleased that it's going to be back in the 90s all next week starting tomorrow.

I have no idea what dorky thing Jeff is doing, though. We have plans to take advantage of the cooler temps to open all the windows and air out the house, which smells like it's been closed up and air conditioned for a month straight. Bleh.

That's not dorky, though. That's necessary.

Oh dear, cantaloupe in the trash is horrible. HORRIBLE.

I've been looking forward to The Airing since I figured out we'd get a little heat respite. I'm going to wash the curtains that we use to block off parts of the house for the AC and the couch slip cover, too. So fresh and so clean clean.

The dorky thing is not something I am doing, but something that I cannot do tonight, so I can do it tomorrow.

I walked past a group of singing, dancing, drumming, smiling Hare Krishnas on the way back from lunch. I kind of wanted to join them.

i was in intelligentsia and one of the baristas from the starbucks behind my work came in to order a drink - embarrassing for her! she is very recognizable because she has white girl dreads.

This weather is stunning. I thought it was about 74, but it's 81. We live in a fucked up area.

I mean, when I went outside I was like, "ah, it's the perfect days like this that really makes the other 355 miserable days worth it." shades of "but he can be so sweet to me!"

every time the chi thread mentions chipotle, i crave burritos for weeks. srsly.

parents are paying so like ... mid-range? normal? we just never eat anywhere over there so i thought it might fun to find somewhere in that area instead of going the same places we always go. not sure about food style preference, was just wondering if people had faves over there.

Adesso at Broadway and Buckingham is good. Ping Pong is good if annoying. I do not care for Joy's Noodles but other people do and it's cheap. Stella's is a solid diner option (great matzoh ball soup). Angelina Ristorante at Broadway and Addison is wonderful (good parent place IMO).

I'm a big fan of this place because it's quiet and pleasant and the food is v. good.

El Nuevo Mexicano on Clark and Oakdale is very good.

I'd say Chilam Balam. Even though I've never been there.

HB Home Bistro

La Creperie on Clark almost at Broadway is good and I think it's a fun place to eat because it's all Frenchified and makes me feel worldly.

We need to eat at HB. I don't know why we haven't yet.
