last season's brostep parties make more sense in '12 than him to be into ICP

w/r/t to "liking" people on the show the only thing that ever bothered me were the peeps who liked Gus, or thought he was somehow less reprehensible than Walt.
― Matt Armstrong, Tuesday, July 17, 2012 7:45 PM (Yesterday) Bookmark
yeah i had a guy telling me once that gus was more 'moral' than walt, i guess some people will make up anything about a character if they find them sufficiently badass
Thinking back on waltavo sitting in Saul's office silently listening to his spiel or riding in the back of the car after escaping from the magnet ... he's not doing that slack-jawed open mouth thing anymore that he did when he was just going along with something.

Wasn't Jesse's endless house party mostly dubstep last season?
― the new dire homonomoreboobsativity (Eric H.), Wednesday, 18 July 2012 12:12 (fourteen years ago)
xxpost oh, right
regarding magnets and computers in the real world: you can use a powerful magnet to damage a hard drive, but the data can still usually be recovered with a lot of time and effort.
― abanana, Wednesday, 18 July 2012 12:18 (fourteen years ago)
apparently not, if the drive has been previously corrupted by the smell of fried chicken.
― Know how Roo feel (LocalGarda), Wednesday, 18 July 2012 12:26 (fourteen years ago)
well the computer was also slammed against the wall so hard the case was damaged, so the hard drive prob got tooken care of
― lag∞n, Wednesday, 18 July 2012 13:15 (fourteen years ago)
Plus Jesse said "bitch." Usually that seals the deal.

Dear writers of Breaking Bad,
Please include a scene where Jesse listens to Insane Clown Posse.
Your Friend,

― Barack 2 Chainz Obama (some dude), Wednesday, 18 July 2012 13:42 (fourteen years ago)
there's a difference between doing stuff that causes lolz on the internet and doing something as obvious as an ICP joke

that stupid, unfunny nazi zombies scene in season 4 always felt like internet pandering to me. probably the show's lowest moment
― Black_vegeta (Hungry4Ass), Wednesday, 18 July 2012 13:52 (fourteen years ago)
dear breaking bad writers, please have a scene where jesse eats BACON

this is exactly what I was talking abt w/gus adjusting his fucking tie. it looks like "what can we do that Tumblr will enjoy as an animated gif?"

if we consider making visually-interesting tv and movies just pandering to the gif crowd now i'm going back to bed
― funny-skrillex-bee_132455836669.gif (s1ocki), Wednesday, 18 July 2012 14:53 (fourteen years ago)
haha didn't s1ocki make his triumphant return to ilx last year specifically to defend gus's death scene?
― Barack 2 Chainz Obama (some dude), Wednesday, 18 July 2012 14:54 (fourteen years ago)
lol i think so
― funny-skrillex-bee_132455836669.gif (s1ocki), Wednesday, 18 July 2012 14:54 (fourteen years ago)
you're hitting me where it hurts guys
i dug gus' death scene. i appreciate flourishes like that + think they're appropriate for the tone & character of the show. BB does consistently impress me with how visually accomplished it is... TV-wise it's in pretty rare company in that respect
― Black_vegeta (Hungry4Ass), Wednesday, 18 July 2012 14:59 (fourteen years ago)
i think it's very much "too much time on the internet" to assume stuff like that is made so that i'll be turned into a gif
― funny-skrillex-bee_132455836669.gif (s1ocki), Wednesday, 18 July 2012 15:00 (fourteen years ago)
gus adjusting his tie like he usually did vs. gus walking to the door with half a face in full "the walking dead" zombie animated effects
― hot sauce delivery device (mh), Wednesday, 18 July 2012 15:01 (fourteen years ago)
seriously, i'm sitting here thinking "adjusting his tie is what you guys are going pull out of that scene as pandering to the gif crowd"?
― heated debate over derpy hooves (jon /via/ chi 2.0), Wednesday, 18 July 2012 15:05 (fourteen years ago)
BB does consistently impress me with how visually accomplished it is.
Yes! It's not that BB does things so they can become internet memes. It's that BB is often stunning to look at so people make gifs out of the good parts.
― carl agatha, Wednesday, 18 July 2012 15:05 (fourteen years ago)
idk what you guys are talking about, but I just found this "godard" guy and he was gif whoring like no other
― hot sauce delivery device (mh), Wednesday, 18 July 2012 15:07 (fourteen years ago)
in the BB insider podcast gilligan said that whole coat and tie adjustment thing was something giancarlo esposito came up with himself

Whenever I get depressed about S5 being basically two half seasons, I remember how much they packed into that first one.
― the new dire homonomoreboobsativity (Eric H.), Wednesday, 18 July 2012 15:19 (fourteen years ago)
before s4 started I went back and watched the last 2 eps of S3 and I was agog at how much plot was jammed into them, all these events I thought had happened over the course of the season were just BAM BAM BAM RUN BAM BAM BAM GALE

ilx getting me hooked on san andreas again made watching this ep really really weird
like drive to mike, [mike cutscene] go get the magnet, drive magnet next to building, oh no van is fucked, escape
it was all there in my mind man

(would totally play gta breaking bad if any staff writers keen to indulge internet dweebs are reading)

haha
― pplains, Wednesday, 18 July 2012 17:38 (fourteen years ago)
Could totally see one of those "spook" meters they use when you're trailing somebody to gauge the strength of the magnet.
― pplains, Wednesday, 18 July 2012 17:39 (fourteen years ago)
I think I actually said to sunny, "ooh, this is like a GTA mission" when they drove the truck into the police compound.
― pplains, Wednesday, 18 July 2012 17:40 (fourteen years ago)
lol, it really WAS like a GTA mission, complete with fucking up the main objective and dashing to steal another car to escape

But the suits had trouble envisioning Fox's suburban dad as their star and threw out film-star names including John Cusack and Matthew Broderick (both passed). "We all still had the image of Bryan shaving his body in Malcolm in the Middle. We were like, 'Really? Isn't there anybody else?' "
lol john cusack

my reaction to finding out that BB was originally set in riverside, CA: of course it was. i can picture that show so easily
― Black_vegeta (Hungry4Ass), Wednesday, 18 July 2012 18:59 (fourteen years ago)
The Malcolm in the Middle thing is a big reason why I resisted watching BB for awhile. I hated that show.
― polyphonic, Wednesday, 18 July 2012 19:00 (fourteen years ago)
its basically the same show

It's amazing how wrong that would be.
And how right Brian Cranston is. Like, I can't even imagine how it could have been anyone else, like it's a scientific law that BC is Walter White.
xp LOL slocki

How wrong John Cusack would be, that is.
