in S1E1 he turns 50 and S5E4 is titled "fifty-one" so I'm guessing about a year

i was halfway hoping he was gonna come home to a birthday cake, but maybe too cute i guess

solo breakfast could mean nothing (he was there on business)(plus season one bday breakfast was alone right? walt's exactly the type of fuck to be miserable on his bday). so do ppl think we'll see that scene/reach that state of affairs by this end of this year's block of episodes or is that a glimpse of the endgame?

anyway I'm not making any prognostication here, it could be total misdirection on gilligan's part, but the S5 cold open has more subtext than just "walt spends weird bday bfast alone"

way I read it, it's a flashforward a year, walt's spent some time hiding out in NH, now he's back in town and is planning to settle some score w/ a v big gun

breakfast + the callback to E1S1/happier times indicates his family is somehow involved, mainly due to their absence

yeah if i didn't already see that this guy's gonna get humbled before he possibly buys it i would've been hoping for mike to blow his arrogant head off even more tonight.

that "offering Mike full partnership" thing in the trailer is irritating me. Mike's a great character & scenes with him are fantastic but reducing your cut by 17% is not something you do just to get a guy whose dialogue is snappy

it's funny, my downstairs neighbor for awhile was a Welsh actor in his 40s, acted all his life, currently doing Shakespeare with the Globe theatre, been in 1,000,000 things, and i loaned him Breaking Bad, and he talked to me a little while later and said literally the same thing, that Cranston was the best acting he had ever seen anyone do in any role. i was like whoa alright there buddy.
