I think its a fairly clear policy (at least in this match) of lets keep it open for as long as possible. Would've been horrible to start with a closed roof.

yeah that's true as well. Just that the rain was positively pouring when they left the court earlier that it just seemed silly not to close it or to expect that it was going to be the only shower spell in what looks like it could be a very long and competitive match.
