There we go! Well done Serena, glad we had a somewhat competitive & interesting final. Radwanska did so much better than everyone predicted including the haters who can't appreciate tactical/finesse tennis.

You definitely saw A-Rad put into place a game-plan that could have beaten a sub-par Serena. There were enough vintage cat-and-mouse points that made it one of the better finals of recent times actually. But Serena was not sub-par. New world #2 acquits herself decently!

A-Rad played some great points in the second set and really made Serena earn that, and Serena rose to the occasion superbly - that four-aces game was such a huge way to seize control of the match but it wasn't just Serverena winning it.

Awwwww Aga, she did that despite being ill, I almost forgot - had to suck on a lozenge just to get through the post-match interview.

Bet both men's finalists will cry more tmr.

So Serena served more aces in this event than Sampras did in winning his first Slam at USO '90 (100 in 7 best-of-fives - there was a big fuss at the time about that).

Yay Vesnina won. Brad Gilbert says that last night she went into the ESPN studio to have him sign a Russian copy of his Winning Ugly book, and it was all highlighted and footnoted. You could make many sarky comments but bless her <3 <3 <3

It wasn't the final, that's against Lisa R and the other Bryan. Always a joy to see Huber lose though!

Yeah TB ws p/good so its slightly disappointing how one-sided the last set is shaping up at the moment.

I genuinely don't understand people who only start caring about tennis when there's GBR involvement. (The British mindset generally I guess.) Like...when they watch Murray matches are they enjoying themselves? Are they enjoying the sport? If so then why would they not want to watch more of it? If not why are they watching at all? It would be like me suddenly watching football in the World Cup final. Uh, no, because I dislike the sport, and if I liked it I'd watch it all the time.
