Crap, I was wondering about that.

Lauren Faust, who helped to draw adults to Cartoon Network with her work on The Power Puff Girls and Fosters Home For Imaginary Friends, also helped to revamp the My Little Pony franchise with sophisticated writing and nuanced characters. The results are drawing animation fans of nontraditional ages, genders, and lifestyles.

ha i did not know this. now i feel some guilt by association for liking Fosters (and have some vague memory of thinking Power Puff Girls was aight in the 90s).

no guilt! all three shows are pretty great.

I did see a kid who looked very similar to him (wearing a fedora and a my little pony t-shirt) when I was out last weekend -- I know we have joked about the fedoras but I didn't really expect a brony to be that stereotypical-looking.

I was near a anime/comic convention last weekend and saw not one, but two young men wearing brony shirts, and I can safely say that 2/2 were exactly as you imagine (#1: fedora, #2: very long hair & short beard)
