I had a massive headache and slept through most of this--woke up in time to see Tiger make a couple of bogeys. Playing those two par 5s in +1 really hurts. I think he's sort of still in it, but a real long shot at this point. "But those were different times," said one of the announcers--yes, and that's why those Sports Illustrated guys were so silly the other day.

If Tiger doesn't rebound right away, I'll root for the kid. Logic says the second he realizes what's going on he'll shoot 82, but when you see so many guys who've been around forever melt down in majors, maybe being 17 is a good thing.

lol @ Woods - his post-meltdown makes you believe that such a thing as karma exists.

Come on McDowell - happy he's in contention again.

I'm liking Westwood or Kuchar today, but I will flip with joy if Hossler sneaks in and wins.

Johnny Fever, Sunday, 17 June 2012 18:16 (fourteen years ago)

welp, tigers gonna be closer to +10 than he is contending~

johnny crunch, Sunday, 17 June 2012 21:26 (fourteen years ago)

"how about this: both named lee!" omfg ty what an insight

johnny crunch, Sunday, 17 June 2012 23:03 (fourteen years ago)

Just got in. If Tiger and Matt Damon are out of it, who am I supposed to root for? I guess I should be happy if either of the old guys in the lead win.

clemenza, Sunday, 17 June 2012 23:11 (fourteen years ago)

rooting for ernie

cissymanwhore (k3vin k.), Sunday, 17 June 2012 23:20 (fourteen years ago)

Kuchar is out of it. Westwood needs a miracle. I'm on the Els train now!

Johnny Fever, Sunday, 17 June 2012 23:25 (fourteen years ago)

Man, you guys are psychic.

clemenza, Sunday, 17 June 2012 23:26 (fourteen years ago)

cissymanwhore (k3vin k.), Sunday, 17 June 2012 23:27 (fourteen years ago)

anyone but furyk

johnny crunch, Sunday, 17 June 2012 23:29 (fourteen years ago)

What exactly happened to Tiger? Was he knocking it all over the place, missing putts, or both?

clemenza, Sunday, 17 June 2012 23:29 (fourteen years ago)

michael thompson? john peterson? p unimaginative aliases guys

johnny crunch, Sunday, 17 June 2012 23:49 (fourteen years ago)

call all destroyer, Sunday, 17 June 2012 23:50 (fourteen years ago)

never really gave himself a chance iirc, was pretty wild. they stopped showing him after a couple holes

cissymanwhore (k3vin k.), Sunday, 17 June 2012 23:52 (fourteen years ago)

Simpson, Thompson & Peterson: Mitt Romney's legal representation.

clemenza, Monday, 18 June 2012 00:03 (fourteen years ago)

It's almost funny the way guys who suddenly and unexpectedly find themselves close to the lead in a major immediately start hitting it sideways.

clemenza, Monday, 18 June 2012 00:09 (fourteen years ago)

Wow--don't remember seeing two guys at the top trade off such long putts.

clemenza, Monday, 18 June 2012 01:01 (fourteen years ago)

If Thompson wins this, I'll count the whole night as wasted.

clemenza, Monday, 18 June 2012 01:14 (fourteen years ago)

;_; 4 hoss but it's a real credit to spieth that he took low am

johnny crunch, Monday, 18 June 2012 01:26 (fourteen years ago)

call all destroyer, Monday, 18 June 2012 01:29 (fourteen years ago)

think this is prob webb v jim f

johnny crunch, Monday, 18 June 2012 01:30 (fourteen years ago)

yea it's gonna be impossible to make much of a move

call all destroyer, Monday, 18 June 2012 01:32 (fourteen years ago)

Even with the two par 5s coming up (one hard, one easy), I could see Furyk blandly parring in to win.

clemenza, Monday, 18 June 2012 01:40 (fourteen years ago)

holy shit

johnny crunch, Monday, 18 June 2012 01:40 (fourteen years ago)

furyk is not a guy i see getting swallowed by pressure but uh i could be wrong

call all destroyer, Monday, 18 June 2012 01:41 (fourteen years ago)

now that i'm getting to see some of this in depth this is a brutal course

call all destroyer, Monday, 18 June 2012 01:42 (fourteen years ago)

haha yea ive never ever seen him do that

johnny crunch, Monday, 18 June 2012 01:43 (fourteen years ago)

btw i've gotta give props to the west coast-y timing of this tourney...sunday primetime conclusion of a major is f'n sweet

call all destroyer, Monday, 18 June 2012 01:50 (fourteen years ago)

had webb in a us open pool & swapped him out @ the last minute 4 bubba watson :[

johnny crunch, Monday, 18 June 2012 01:51 (fourteen years ago)

aw

call all destroyer, Monday, 18 June 2012 01:52 (fourteen years ago)

What a strange hop--thought that was close. Furyk better get up and down for a bogey or he's dead.

clemenza, Monday, 18 June 2012 01:52 (fourteen years ago)

17'll be fun. Birdie hole, has to make one.

clemenza, Monday, 18 June 2012 01:57 (fourteen years ago)

geez furyk

call all destroyer, Monday, 18 June 2012 02:05 (fourteen years ago)

furyk is shook

johnny crunch, Monday, 18 June 2012 02:05 (fourteen years ago)

lot of winners this season on pga tour coming from the not-last grouping

johnny crunch, Monday, 18 June 2012 02:06 (fourteen years ago)

Furyk just the last guy I expected to get rattled...still might have a surprise left.

clemenza, Monday, 18 June 2012 02:09 (fourteen years ago)

What a weak putt.

clemenza, Monday, 18 June 2012 02:11 (fourteen years ago)

furyk made that 1 long par saving putt & otherwise hasnt putt well at all

johnny crunch, Monday, 18 June 2012 02:14 (fourteen years ago)

I don't think anyone has since Simpson had the five one-putt holes midway. Els missed a lot of makable putts down the stretch.

clemenza, Monday, 18 June 2012 02:18 (fourteen years ago)

yeah furyk's putting isn't his problem now; everything is his problem

call all destroyer, Monday, 18 June 2012 02:20 (fourteen years ago)

gmac v webb wld b a cool matchplay/playoff

johnny crunch, Monday, 18 June 2012 02:21 (fourteen years ago)

feel a little bad for jim f, he's getting up there and isn't going to have many better opportunities
