Love Max Ophüls of us all (Michael White), Friday, 8 June 2012 20:09 (fourteen years ago)

pandemic, Friday, 8 June 2012 20:10 (fourteen years ago)

have yet to see a decent long range strike in either game so far

pandemic, Friday, 8 June 2012 20:11 (fourteen years ago)

Kerzhakov's finishing is off

Love Max Ophüls of us all (Michael White), Friday, 8 June 2012 20:11 (fourteen years ago)

zverotic discourse (jim in glasgow), Friday, 8 June 2012 20:12 (fourteen years ago)

wtf that finish

Ismael Klata, Friday, 8 June 2012 20:12 (fourteen years ago)

Has there ever been a decent Russian striker?

Ismael Klata, Friday, 8 June 2012 20:13 (fourteen years ago)

Odemwingie.

Temporarily Famous In The Czech Republic (ShariVari), Friday, 8 June 2012 20:14 (fourteen years ago)

That really was a terrible shot

Pacific Trash Vortex (Nasty, Brutish & Short), Friday, 8 June 2012 20:14 (fourteen years ago)

Kerzhakov's actually pretty good, tbh. Had a great domestic season and works well within the structure of the team. His finishing has been awful, though. Pav or Pogrebnyak for the last twenty minutes would have finished them off.

Temporarily Famous In The Czech Republic (ShariVari), Friday, 8 June 2012 20:15 (fourteen years ago)

keeper got lucky there

pandemic, Friday, 8 June 2012 20:17 (fourteen years ago)

good save tho

pandemic, Friday, 8 June 2012 20:17 (fourteen years ago)

The Soviet sides, did they have any Inzaghi types? I remember them as all robotic fullbacks and cultured passing midfielders.

Ismael Klata, Friday, 8 June 2012 20:18 (fourteen years ago)

oleg blokhin but he was a ukrainian

Zaireeka Badu (NickB), Friday, 8 June 2012 20:19 (fourteen years ago)

sonderangerbot, Friday, 8 June 2012 20:21 (fourteen years ago)

Pacific Trash Vortex (Nasty, Brutish & Short), Friday, 8 June 2012 20:22 (fourteen years ago)

the left side of the czech defence has been a disgrace

pandemic, Friday, 8 June 2012 20:22 (fourteen years ago)

FFS! The digital box cut me off for recording two separate programmed just as that was happening. I've seen one goal out of six so far.

Ismael Klata, Friday, 8 June 2012 20:23 (fourteen years ago)

Pavlyuchenko and Arshavin look useful. I can see big Premier League clubs coming in for them.

This post brought to you from 2008.

a permanent embarrassment and an occasional disgrace (onimo), Friday, 8 June 2012 20:33 (fourteen years ago)

They play well for Russia. Maybe they don't travel well?

Ah, 2008...

xyzzzz__, Friday, 8 June 2012 20:37 (fourteen years ago)

I don't think Pavlyuchenko did an awful lot wrong at Spurs.

Wojciech Szczesny has had an absolute nightmare

He's no Artur Boruc, that's for sure. Czechs were rubbish in qualifying, so bad that Scotland would have finnished ahead of them if that cheatin' Czech hadn't dived in the 90th minute @ Hampden and Levein hadn't pioneered his novel 5-5-0 formation in Prague.
