― Number None, Wednesday, 6 June 2012 18:35 (twelve years ago) link
ya he isn't fair from growing an raf moustache and hanging around on brick lane with that look.

Beckham is looking immense these days, speaking of 'that look'

and hanging around on brick lane with that look.
I just read the wiki about Brick Lane but I'm not sure I infer everything I'd like to about this post. /tuomas

wellll tbh i'd say becks' damn good quality beard is putting an american deadwood kinda slant on it that sets him apart from joey barton's zorg look which itself is on the punk fringe of the stu pearce/parker/twp ukip look
― r|t|c, Wednesday, 6 June 2012 21:32 (twelve years ago) link
(parker being on the furthest opposite end of that scale leaning towards apolitical general debonair)
― r|t|c, Wednesday, 6 June 2012 21:34 (twelve years ago) link
I saw a flash of colour on Parker's boots the other day. Fucking sell-out.

ach with the brick lane thing i just meant that wayne, retro side-parting and all, was beginning to let out his inner hipster. i'm evidently not v good at being understood tonight.
― Merdeyeux, Wednesday, 6 June 2012 23:18 (twelve years ago) link
I think Rooney's 'do is less retro side-parting than comb-over because his fake hair isn't working out quite how he planned. Good enough for Bobby Charlton.

not jim.
Lawro just daringly picked France to win it on BBC's shite preview show. Shearer, mindful of past embarrassments no doubt, went for Germany.

So disappointing that nobody is tipping England to do well this year... apart from Phil Brown

joined the league.
predos:
Winners: GermanyRunners up: ItalyPoland and France in the SemisEngland knocked out of Group Stages by Sweden
Top goalscorer: Nando Torres
Theo will score a beautiful insane goal against a 10 men Ukraine that guarantees he'll be shitty and not live up to expectations next season.

Have you ever genuinely thought England would win a tournament?
I did in 2002 - I was utterly convinced it was going to happen, at least from the first round when dodgy penalty/Argentina battering on the door to no effect, and maybe before. I could watch the start of games before going to work, and seeing Owen's jammy goal against Brazil just confirmed that it was all written.
It seems kinda insane in retrospect, but when I arrived at work to find that Ronaldinho, Rivaldo et al had turned it round, my brain could not comprehend how this could have happened.

^^ aye, with the home advantage i thought they were a sure thing
― Michael B Higgins (Michael B), Thursday, 7 June 2012 10:51 (twelve years ago) link
I thought they might after Gary McAllister expertly aimed that penalty kick at David Seamsn's arse
― Tom D (Tom D.), Thursday, 7 June 2012 10:52 (twelve years ago) link
i think england will get through the group stage, then somehow scrape victory from jaws of defeat through the knockout stages, john terry will be suspended for the final, england gets outplayed for 90 minutes by another team that misses 40 barn doors and england equalises in the 88th minute then the other team miss a penalty and england win euro 2012 in a penalty shootout with John Terry coming back out wearing a beefeater uniform and fuck the world
― Rosie 47 (ken c), Thursday, 7 June 2012 10:55 (twelve years ago) link
wonder if sheva has any terry beef and if he could get someone to stamp on his face in the group stage
