Well so this guy took a picture of me at a party in Brooklyn. Then he moved to Chicago to study photography. Last week, I got a call from Chicago: "Hey, did you know there's a giant photo of you hanging in a gallery here?" Apparently the project was for the photographer to cut his own eyes into different photos from that night.

Because I know someone who does things like that and he moved to Chicago about 6 months ago. At his going-away party he was taking shots of people and then flipping them over the central axis, so you could see how you'd look with two left sides or two rights. And the answer was almost always "incredibly wrong and not-you."

Shameless promotion for a friend: anyone who wants to see a huge photo of nabisco should go to the G2 gallery in Chicago, in the "Project Space" area, at 847 West Jackson Ave., between now and Oct. 21.

This is all a bit too bizarre-small-world for me, that I should bring nabisco to my good friend Brad's going-away party, that nabisco's photo should be one of the few that turned out (Brad photographed everyone at the party; I guess mine turned out terribly, and he was nice enough to never show it to anyone); that nabisco's Chicago friend should randomly go to this gallery and see his photo; and that Laurel (hi Laurel! I don't think we've met at any of the few random FAPs I've attended, but I guess you're friends with Brad's friend Meg?) was also at that going-away party. Weird.
