I don't think I know Sascha, unfortunately. But I remembered I've met David R other times, too, most recently at an ex-ilxors' wedding some years back. Glad he's well and knows you and everything is awesome.

he's one of those hampshire guys. as is ilxor herb albert and herb's wife. david does computer/server stuff that i don't understand. so, really, both daves are very computer-y. they try not to make me feel dumb though.

scott seward, Tuesday, 29 May 2012 01:04 (fourteen years ago)

also, that is a swell baby hat up there. and a swell baby! a happy little dude.

scott seward, Tuesday, 29 May 2012 01:05 (fourteen years ago)

what an adorable kid!

just1n3, Tuesday, 29 May 2012 01:11 (fourteen years ago)

i like the hampshire people i know. they are brainy and arty. a good mix. and the people who stayed around here are really happy to be here. herb albert does computer stuff along with his wife but also had a label and an online radio station and they both make music. really good music! my kinda family.

scott seward, Tuesday, 29 May 2012 01:11 (fourteen years ago)

thanks, he is adorable and pretty much that happy 90% of the time. i'm often amazed by him.

JacobSanders, Tuesday, 29 May 2012 01:34 (fourteen years ago)

Thanks everyone! I'm often amazed that I could help to produce something that adorable.

Jacob, I think thats really cool that you still had the outfit you came home in to share. Awesome.

Baby reminds me of Charles Durning with that hat on (except more smiley).

I don't think that's how you compliment someone's baby, lol :)

Peppermint Patty Hearst (VegemiteGrrl), Tuesday, 29 May 2012 02:45 (fourteen years ago)

The babies in this thread are ridiculously cute.

Doc Hopper may have been lacking in social niceties, but damn if he didn't have style.

i love these threads.
jons boy is a proper smile inducer.
love that photo.
golden age of parenting = post baby, pre school, i.e. when the personality begins to kick in, and the outside world has yet to scare the f*ck out of them.
it goes without saying, but enjoy it sir.

Robin Hood: "Little John, come quickly! The Sheriff of Nottingham's men are approaching!"
Little John: "I'll just go and fetch my quarter-staff."
Robin Hood: "Why haven't you got a whole one?"
Little John: "Well we're rather short staffed..."

Daffy Duck "Actually it's a buck-and-a-quarter quarterstaff, but don't tell him that"

http://i1059.photobucket.com/albums/t427/sayhey1/gladwell.jpg

At an interview/book signing last night with Malcolm Gladwell. He was much like The Tipping Point: interesting sometimes (he's very good on race), a little glib at other times (insulting to Michael Harrington without meaning to be, I think). His whole thing on entrepreneurship--that to be really successful in business, you have to be amoral by definition--while not exactly new, was presented cogently. So when I got up to the table for the autograph, I said something like, "That stuff you said about entrepreneurs is basically the way Obama is trying to define Romney." It was just an observation--you couldn't miss it. He's still looking down at the book when my friend snapped the photo; in one second he'll look up like I've just said the stupidest thing he's ever heard.

clemenza, Tuesday, 29 May 2012 23:32 (fourteen years ago)

hahah

in my imagination the next photo is you both armwrestling

Peppermint Patty Hearst (VegemiteGrrl), Tuesday, 29 May 2012 23:33 (fourteen years ago)

i wonder if he taught himself to be left-handed

seems like the kind of thing he might do

mookieproof, Tuesday, 29 May 2012 23:42 (fourteen years ago)

haha!

game of crones (La Lechera), Tuesday, 29 May 2012 23:56 (fourteen years ago)

xps Then you punched him?

Radical Jedward (snoball), Wednesday, 30 May 2012 07:25 (fourteen years ago)

First we arm-wrestled (as he continued to sign books with his left hand), then I punched him. As you can see from the vein in my neck and the way I'm barking at him, this story has no happy ending.

Peppermint Patty Hearst (VegemiteGrrl), Thursday, 31 May 2012 01:24 (fourteen years ago)

So the bikini babes disappeared and the next thing you knew there was only an empty bottle?
Yup, we've all been there, man.

♆ (gr8080), Thursday, 31 May 2012 05:41 (fourteen years ago)

Is what you're doing in that photo even legal?

JacobSanders, Thursday, 31 May 2012 06:41 (fourteen years ago)

it's best not to know, iirc

Peppermint Patty Hearst (VegemiteGrrl), Thursday, 31 May 2012 13:51 (fourteen years ago)

g80 can you have a zine offshoot called Hawaii Parking Lot

obliquity of the ecliptic (rrrobyn), Thursday, 31 May 2012 15:20 (fourteen years ago)

that's a good idea imo

markers, Thursday, 31 May 2012 15:20 (fourteen years ago)

let us suggest parking lots to have photos taken in too

markers, Thursday, 31 May 2012 15:21 (fourteen years ago)

i was taking bottles from a BYOB karaoke place and putting them in a friend's car-- legal imo

♆ (gr8080), Thursday, 31 May 2012 17:19 (fourteen years ago)

you need to come up with a sexier story for ILX...you have an image to uphold

Peppermint Patty Hearst (VegemiteGrrl), Thursday, 31 May 2012 17:21 (fourteen years ago)

legal imo

that would depend on where you put them in the car and whether Hawaii has a law banning opened containers of alcohol in car where they can be accessed while the vehicle is in motion.
