― The stickman from the hilarious "xkcd" comics, Saturday, 21 June 2008 22:09 (eighteen years ago)

khan wins. what a fight
― Herman G. Neuname, Saturday, 21 June 2008 22:20 (eighteen years ago)
Khans inexperience showed, but his brilliance won in the end. Don't think that will be enough to win a world title yet though.
― Herman G. Neuname, Saturday, 21 June 2008 22:21 (eighteen years ago)
That was great
― stet, Saturday, 21 June 2008 22:27 (eighteen years ago)
and we're back for one last Calzaghe fight. What time are we expecting them in the ring?
I dreamt last week that Calzaghe took Jones out in the first round. So not gonna happen. I'm going for Calzaghe with a very late stoppage.
― Cool Hand Tiller (onimo), Sunday, 9 November 2008 01:05 (seventeen years ago)
oops. Calzaghe with as good a start as he made against Hopkins.
― Cool Hand Tiller (onimo), Sunday, 9 November 2008 04:51 (seventeen years ago)
Then wins the next 11 rounds. Good fight but neither boxer at his best. Calzaghe seems to have lost a bit of power or he's protecting his dodgy hands. Jones seems to have lost a bit of everything.
Rematch in Cardiff or Joe's retirement?
― Cool Hand Tiller (onimo), Sunday, 9 November 2008 05:41 (seventeen years ago)
Rematch in Cardiff, because then I won't have to give up in a pathetic attempt to keep my eyes open until early o'clock.

― Pfunkboy Formerly Known As... (Herman G. Neuname), Saturday, 15 November 2008 23:47 (seventeen years ago)
Should have shoved a twenty on it
― Peter "One Dart" Manley (The stickman from the hilarious 'xkcd' comics), Saturday, 15 November 2008 23:47 (seventeen years ago)
As much as I love the guy and wanna see him win every fucking HW belt going, I still think he has zero chin

― Pfunkboy Formerly Known As... (Herman G. Neuname), Saturday, 15 November 2008 23:49 (seventeen years ago)
haha wow Barrett hit him while Haye was down. He's gonna pay!
― Pfunkboy Formerly Known As... (Herman G. Neuname), Saturday, 15 November 2008 23:50 (seventeen years ago)
Can't remember if I've mentioned it here before, but I saw Haye's debut fight back on BBC2 in... 02? 03? Second year at uni anyway. The guy exuded star quality even then.
― Peter "One Dart" Manley (The stickman from the hilarious 'xkcd' comics), Saturday, 15 November 2008 23:51 (seventeen years ago)
must be out this time
― Pfunkboy Formerly Known As... (Herman G. Neuname), Saturday, 15 November 2008 23:51 (seventeen years ago)
Stick a fork in it
Can't wait to see Haye get hugged by the Klitschkos for 15 rounds
They would have to get near him first
― Pfunkboy Formerly Known As... (Herman G. Neuname), Saturday, 15 November 2008 23:53 (seventeen years ago)
I'm excited at the prospect of a Haye vs Klitschko fight. I just hope virginmedia dont take Setanta off us! (Or Pay per view on sky)

I watched a bunch of old boxing matches today. If you've never seen Caveman Lee vs. John LoCicero you gotta get on that, totally amazing fight.
― J0hn D., Sunday, 16 November 2008 01:13 (seventeen years ago)
That the same Caveman Lee that got beasted by Hagler?
― Peter "One Dart" Manley (The stickman from the hilarious 'xkcd' comics), Sunday, 16 November 2008 01:20 (seventeen years ago)
Yeah I have that fight too and also watched it today - that was two fights later for Lee, he was really coming up and then Hagler one-rounded him. To be honest the Hagler fight looks kind of fishy if you've watched Lee scrap - Hagler's class, but hard punchers like LoCicero have a very hard time dropping Lee and then boom, he can't lay a glove on Hagler, crumbles quickly, vanishes for four years, fights two more fights and retires? Still, it's true that none of the guys he ran through were anywhere near Hagler's stature.

I'm in Australia tonight and won't be able to see the De La Hoya/Pacquiao fight :(
― J0hn D., Saturday, 6 December 2008 06:27 (seventeen years ago)
spoiler: pac-man wins
― cankles, Saturday, 6 December 2008 06:51 (seventeen years ago)
you & I both wish!
― J0hn D., Saturday, 6 December 2008 10:06 (seventeen years ago)
If accessibility is the problem then here's a list of places you should be able to watch the fight
― Chubinder, Saturday, 6 December 2008 10:46 (seventeen years ago)
I'm pretty sure I'll be on an airplane when it happens (I'm in Newcastle tonight and I'm flying to Adelaide eaaaarrrrrly tomorrow morning) but if I get to Adelaide in time then sir I am in your debt for that list
― J0hn D., Saturday, 6 December 2008 13:54 (seventeen years ago)
De La Hoya will get more consideration from the judges if this fight is close, but I don't think it will be close enough for that to come into play. I like pacman - unanimous decision by two points.
― Aimless, Saturday, 6 December 2008 16:27 (seventeen years ago)
Righto, anyone watching tonight's ITV punch-a-ganza?
The first match will be starting on ITV4, featuring a bloke called Tyson Fury. Who is six foot nine.
― William Bloody Swygart, Saturday, 6 December 2008 20:53 (seventeen years ago)
I was just getting my dinner out of the oven, come back, Booty Luv are stood on the ring entrance, and they are singing. And then the Hungarian lad that Tyson Fury is about to pummel walks between them. And now here's Tyson Fury himself.
I do not get it.
― William Bloody Swygart, Saturday, 6 December 2008 20:58 (seventeen years ago)
Tyson Fury could perhaps be described as a Julian Barratt-looking motherfucker, except he has shaved and is, like, six foot nine.
Rob McCracken! Whey!
― William Bloody Swygart, Saturday, 6 December 2008 20:59 (seventeen years ago)
"Hennessey Sports in association with Brady House Hotel, Ireland, Golden Palace.com, The Sun newspaper, and Hooters of Nottingham..."
