If I've learned anything from The Worst Movie Ever? thread - is that plenty of ilx people's standards are already very high, so going a little lower doesn't really say anything bad about this show.

I think the worst part of this episode was that Jack and Salma Hayek finished the half-hour even more smitten than ever, so she gets to stick around and ruin my favoritest show for at least another week.

Best part was obv Dr. Spaceman lamenting that modern science has yet to come up with a cure for a woman's mouth.

most of the jokes fell flat. a few funny spots but really unimpressive overall.

the office was better tonight.

Right because the Office was just HYSTERICAL wasn't that funny how Michael spoke in a rambling run-on sentence again.

i suppose if you disregard all the things that made the office great tonight, it wasn't all that great tonight

Sorry for disregarding Jim being sackless and throwing cute glances at the camera, disgusting thowaway gags from Meredith, Dwight for being all Nunchaku Bears Beets Fivehead, and everyone else being terrible, will try harder next time.

Try harder meaning I may possibly look up from what I am doing more than 3-4 times per episode.

i'm not going to get in a discussion about the office with you here but those things you mentioned happen so often on the show that they are white noise and certainly are not the things i or anyone else enjoyed

not as funny as last week but it had the first line of the season that made me pause the TV and have trouble breathing.

yah, weak episode. and the office was really on last night in a way it hasn't been a long while for me. so maybe they have to alternate goodness?

Dude clearly lives in my neighborhood now, as I have been working through those thousand appearances sitting in adjacent chairs using laptops while somehow NOT going "dude I'll pay for that drink if you just do like two lines of Tracy Morgan impression"

That'd be pretty interesting to see, especially since those impressions were dubbed in on that episode.

I am a long-time member of the "30 Rock is way better than The Office" club. Last night The Office was better. Jim's second look-to-camera made me want to stab him in the eyeball with Zach Braff's dick, though.

every time he does that he thinks i wish that move w/clooney had been better received

the brainstorm line was incredible, yah

the only exchange i remember really lolling at was:

jenna: i've got it!
tracy: give it to me! it's mine!

I didn't pay much attention but I did lol pretty hard at "As worn by Dame Judi Dench----'s mother!"

The aborted montage was really funny but I was also sad that I didn't get to see a montage of Tracy & Jenna shopping.

it was a weaker episode but at least it had dr. spacemen - "liz, i believe doctor-patient confidentiality is a two-way street ... i'm cheating on my wife"

I guess I'm the only one who thought it was kind of a strong episode? At least as far as laughs-per-minute goes.

Haven't watched that one in forever, but I still feel surprised not to have noticed this; the "martian COUGAR" I hear in my head is not actually Tracy Morgan's voice.

I would be LESS surprised to find out that Selma Hayek was CGI

I think she may have had some CGI enhancements.

I'm pretty sure she was made up by a lonely cartoonist and then magically came to life, a bit like Alicia Silverstone

All I know is some script-writer clearly wrote instructions like "Selma shakes her head", "Selma jumps up and down" and "Selma shakes her goddamn boobs, people! Come on!"

Uh, main thing I came away from this episode thinking was a) Tracy is one terrifying damn clown! and b) woah, the music was much better in this episode than before.
Oh, and of course c) is Hayek + Jack angling to become a spinoff? Only the barest of reference to the rest of the show, with that whole Donuts thing.
