― mookieproof, Thursday, 15 January 2009 21:33 (seventeen years ago)

i remember seeing some footage of a passenger jet doing a water landing and basically breaking in two and i guess half the people on that plane died so i always assumed that was some best case scenario kind of thing

― ice cr?m, Thursday, 15 January 2009 21:38 (seventeen years ago)
this is such crazy shit. i'm also one of those people who's like "c'mon, if we crash into the water we're all going to die, i don't need to pay attention to this evacuation stuff"
― Tracy Michael Jordan Catalano (Jordan), Thursday, 15 January 2009 21:39 (seventeen years ago)
I'm kinda bummed that the anchors on NBC feel like they have to excuse Jeff for saying something like "It was scary as shit" because ooo FCC curse words children, etc

this plane is going to appear on craigslist. "slight water damage."
― Super Cub, Thursday, 15 January 2009 21:42 (seventeen years ago)
Your life-jacket can be found under your seat, but please do not remove it now. In fact, do not bother to look for it at all. In the event of a landing on water, an unprecedented miracle will have occurred, because in the history of aviation the number of wide-bodied aircraft that have made successful landings on water is zero. This aircraft is equipped with inflatable slides that detach to form life rafts, not that it makes any difference. Please remove high-heeled shoes before using the slides. We might as well add that space helmets and anti-gravity belts should also be removed, since even to mention the use of the slides as rafts is to enter the realm of science fiction.
