I don't think anything else disqualifies her and I hope that they're planning on wrapping the story up reasonably soon so Victoria would be as good as any other choice. It's totally possible that she could have been a roommate of his ex and could have been at Columbia when he was teaching, right?

oh i forgot about that. no, i don't think that's likely at all. unless they retcon it because they realised that after 7 years they've only written one decent romantic interest for Ted.

i think they'll probably bring her around more and more frequently over the next couple seasons (they just got renewed for two, right?) and kinda weave her back into the story until they feel like it'd be a big payoff for the audience to have this particular character marry him after all these seasons. why else stick her in the finale after that last sendoff episode where they say goodbye at the train? <- i mean, seems very possible to me. i don't think i care one way or another

One thing I find weird about this show: at least twice now, Ted has gone over all of his exes, picked out the one that seems like the best option to settle down with, and called her out of the blue to hang out and try to get back together. Do real people really do this??

They're only renewed for one more season, S9 isn't confirmed yet. I guess that's why Barney and Robin's wedding happens "somewhere down the road" rather than "in X years time".

Barney's change from man slut to faithful husband would have been 1000X more interesting if this wasn't the *third* time he'd decided to get serious about a girl. We already know that Barney can change so why should I be surprised if he wants to settle down? So I can't really get invested in the Quinn/Barney relationship at all. Not to mention that every relationship on HIMYM is about the chase, once people finally get together the writers run out of ideas for them and they become boring and break up for no reason after a few episodes.

That plus I just don't feel any chemistry between them.

We saw in the first ep(?) this season that Barney wanted Ted's opinion on ties. Also NPH tweeted we'd find out who Barney was marrying on Monday afternoon..

I gave up watching this. I hate the fact that I watched 6 seasons in the hope all would be revealed. I got suckered in and was left feeling a fool.

ted is so so awful. that said, this was just an emo recap episode, so whatevs. german jokes were good tho.

Tom Lennon's accent was kinda weird. Hard to tell if he really speaks German or not based on the little bits there, but he had an Eastern Switzerland/Western Austria thing going on.

My husband speaks some German and apparently when Ted first tells him "I know wunderbar" he starts going off about how excited he is to meet an American who speaks German and that he didn't have any friends in America he could really talk to, which I found funny.

FYI: The How I Met Your Mother soundtrack has been released on itunes. It looks pretty awesome.

This show is really going downhill this year.

yeah that last ep was esp horrible. marshall and lily's thing, like serious, whoever thought that was a fun joke that needed to be repeated over and over deserves a slap or smth. so many failed proposals and running out on your wedding/lg term relationship in this show, i've lost track.

i still can't help but watch though. i feel like a drunk the morning after a bender who keeps saying he'll never drink again and ends up puking his guts out the next night.

I've been enjoying this season, not finding it any worse than last season.

This show has no direction anymore. They all broke up with people after just a few episodes and we hardly ever saw them onscreen, why should I care about any of them? They brought Victoria back after six years only to sacrifice her to the 195857th version of the "Ted needs to stop being friends with Robin" storyline? Then he proposes to her and they break up in the space of half an episode? And the whole thing is forgotten by the next episode? One week Nick is a girly girl, the next week he's a goofball chef who rides a motorcyle, the next week he's dumb. Couldn't they make up their minds?

I do like that the unreliable narrator lets them retcon characters all the time. Or I did like that -- now I'm sort of tired of it after the billionth time.

This was pretty frustrating to me too. The Marshall/Lily 'snap sister' thing was probably the best part of that episode, which isn't saying much.

They've gotten back on track again after finishing with all those stupid breakups. The "PS I Love You" episode was genius.

robin sparkles episodes are always a treat.

I'm not sure what accent they were going for. Definitely didn't sound like Vancouver though.

I think I'm just still watching because I've invested enough time in that I want to find out who the mother is. Looking over this season's episodes, I don't know if I've been that into any of them. I didn't even buy Barney's stupid convoluted proposal scheme.

Barney's proposal was horrible and no one ever should buy into it. Robin even had a big speech about it but then caved in. Otherwise same as you I've spent o much time waiting for the mother I might as well hang on for a few more episodes. And once in a while there's a good episode, like this one to remind me why I liked this show in the first place.
