Chelsea are rich anyway whether they have CL money or not. Spurs not making CL may perhaps have an effect on their revenue and mean the team is weakened or that the quality of new signings they could attract be poorer. This would be good for lfc, though seeing as we were 20 odd points behind Spurs this is clutching at straws. Still, clutch I will.

pet tommy & the barkhaters (darraghmac), Monday, 14 May 2012 10:36 (fourteen years ago)

Hahaha. It really needs no more justification than 'because lol', everyone would understand.

Ismael Klata, Monday, 14 May 2012 10:47 (fourteen years ago)

I actually thought Pandemic was a Spurs fan, which explains my confusion.

Deutschland Deutschland uber alles anyway.

Homosexual Satan Wasp (Matt DC), Monday, 14 May 2012 10:48 (fourteen years ago)

If Chelsea win it'd be a fucking disgrace

Rosie 47 (ken c), Monday, 14 May 2012 10:50 (fourteen years ago)

All those years of unnoticed brotherhood that pandemic's just pissed up the wall

Ismael Klata, Monday, 14 May 2012 10:51 (fourteen years ago)

damn, if I'd realised that my affiliations were unknown I'd have claimed to be City thru and thru
44 years y'know *tearful gulp*

pandemic, Monday, 14 May 2012 10:53 (fourteen years ago)

Still only 20 years to go eh?

pandemic, Monday, 14 May 2012 10:53 (fourteen years ago)

Nice to see LFC dominating the guardian's 'Flop Of The Season' category with 3 players in the 10. Good job.

pandemic, Monday, 14 May 2012 10:58 (fourteen years ago)

Remember we had that flowchart thing that worked out how much of a glory hunting prick you were?

I'm West Brom or QPR depending on whether or not I want a rich owner. I think I'll go with the Albion. I will attempt to give a shit about them for a wee while.

Since I started "supporting" West Brom they've been a top half team. I'll wait to see who replaces the legned Roy Hodgson before deciding to continue my loose (baggy?) Baggie affiliation.

Djibril Citté (onimo), Monday, 14 May 2012 11:01 (fourteen years ago)

Tottenham dominating Game of the Season for the wrong reasons with two epic defeats and one draw.

Homosexual Satan Wasp (Matt DC), Monday, 14 May 2012 11:02 (fourteen years ago)

@GaryLineker
@joey7barton Still raging then? Still kicking out? And still, presumably, misunderstood? But only by yourself I suspect.

burn

Djibril Citté (onimo), Monday, 14 May 2012 11:02 (fourteen years ago)

Of all the amazing things to happen yesterday, the Joey Barton sending off was my favourite. You couldn't ask for a more obliging pantomime villain to provide a last minute twist.

Also respect to the dude in the pub who shouted "philosophize that you cunt" really loudly.

Homosexual Satan Wasp (Matt DC), Monday, 14 May 2012 11:10 (fourteen years ago)

In many ways his job is to create a 'space' in which people (key skill colleagues, touchline managers, assistance delivery teams) can flourish by using their talents in a team setting that emphasizes diversity and togetherness.

this is such a great post

cissémanwhore (DJ Mencap), Monday, 14 May 2012 11:12 (fourteen years ago)

Was it Gary Lineker xp?

Ismael Klata, Monday, 14 May 2012 11:21 (fourteen years ago)

Lineker's burn on Piers Morgan is one of my favourite tweets ever.

Homosexual Satan Wasp (Matt DC), Monday, 14 May 2012 11:22 (fourteen years ago)

Ooooh:

@GaryLineker do u wanna go there publicly "Mr Squeaky Clean" ? Think u should have a look in that vast closet of skeltons before u respond.

@GaryLineker I know a lot about THAT side to u the people don't and won't bat an eye lid at exposing u. So mind ur manners Squeaky...

Homosexual Satan Wasp (Matt DC), Monday, 14 May 2012 11:24 (fourteen years ago)

McLeish has gone, by the way.

Homosexual Satan Wasp (Matt DC), Monday, 14 May 2012 11:31 (fourteen years ago)

Good riddance. Useless cunt.

Djibril Citté (onimo), Monday, 14 May 2012 11:32 (fourteen years ago)

very strange how Twitter seems to have opened up such public aggression among famous people
surely not a good idea for either of them, as employees of big organizations

He has ??? Last night he was saying he'd be there next season!

the pinefox, Monday, 14 May 2012 11:33 (fourteen years ago)

how apt that the news should break with a 'by the way'

Ismael Klata, Monday, 14 May 2012 11:39 (fourteen years ago)

Pinefox - I doubt that's McLeish's call to make after the season Villa have had.

Homosexual Satan Wasp (Matt DC), Monday, 14 May 2012 11:40 (fourteen years ago)

hardly even lerner's call tbh

that'll lernim

no I agree it shouldn't be McLeish's call
just think it's funny it should happen so soon

no I don't know that about GL, thought he was married to a young beauty

news reports about Twitter seem to consist mainly of cutting and pasting from Twitter

yeah I suspect that Barton's insider knowledge here is also available to anyone with access to Google or the ability to figure out heavy hints in tabloid news items

i believe downing was 15th in the 'chances created' table for midfielders, 20th overall.

Chris, Monday, 14 May 2012 14:24 (fourteen years ago)

Can somebody confirm that both City-QPR and Man U-Sunderland games this season ended 3-2 and 1-0, respectively?

Love Max Ophüls of us all (Michael White), Monday, 14 May 2012 14:26 (fourteen years ago)

that is correct

15th at Liverpool, or in the whole league?

Ismael Klata, Monday, 14 May 2012 14:43 (fourteen years ago)

whole league. maybe i'd feel differently about him if we hadn't paid so much. no idea. this season's been a complete headfuck.

Chris, Monday, 14 May 2012 14:53 (fourteen years ago)

some of the flack that Downing's taken seems pretty harsh considering that failure to create chances hasn't been Liverpool's problem this season

Vermicious Knid A (Noodle Vague), Monday, 14 May 2012 14:55 (fourteen years ago)

I reserve my bile for Charlie Adam. Oh, and Enrique's post Christmas output.

pandemic, Monday, 14 May 2012 14:56 (fourteen years ago)

lfc first team, no injuries?

Reina, johnson, enrique, skrtl, agger, lucas, downing, gerrard, ?henderson?, carroll, suarez.

Is that right?

pet tommy & the barkhaters (darraghmac), Monday, 14 May 2012 15:03 (fourteen years ago)

You're forgetting Aquilani of course ;)

pandemic, Monday, 14 May 2012 15:07 (fourteen years ago)

play Aquilani for Gerrard since it's now been proved by science he makes the team worse

Vermicious Knid A (Noodle Vague), Monday, 14 May 2012 15:09 (fourteen years ago)

If you're really talking no injuries, Bellamy in for Downing. Agree that Henderson doesn't seem right, but he's definitely first pick over Maxi or Kuyt.

Ismael Klata, Monday, 14 May 2012 15:11 (fourteen years ago)

i'd have henderson in the middle with lucas. didn't suarez play on the right of a 3 at ajax?

Chris, Monday, 14 May 2012 15:13 (fourteen years ago)

I actually think Henderson will be really v good within the next 2 years. Not as a RWinger tho.

pandemic, Monday, 14 May 2012 15:14 (fourteen years ago)

i love henderson. great finish against chelsea. he's so easy on the eye, good first touch, can move the ball under pressure. him and johnson are two of my favourite players to watch. coates and suarez up there for goal of the season of course, but johnson's goal at chelsea is just as good for me.

anyway, sounds like kenny's gone to boston to meet the bosses. i reckon he's staying, which i'd be happy about. even happier if we promote borrell or get someone in with the type of defensive game and flexibility that will allow kenny's attacking philosophy to flourish even more. i'd like to see us move the defensive line up and press again, which should help pepe get back to his best as a sweeper keeper. otherwise there's an argument for selling him and sticking with a 'shot stopper' like doni. bringing back rafa's goalkeeping coach would be nice too.

Chris, Monday, 14 May 2012 15:24 (fourteen years ago)

don't really get how steve clarke is somehow the fall guy for a shit season

ooooiiiioooooooooooooooaaaaaaaaoooooh un - bi - leevable! (LocalGarda), Monday, 14 May 2012 15:35 (fourteen years ago)
