i would enjoy paul lambert's mumbling understated praise after their 17-0 victory vs the troubled villans

tebow kortwa (nakhchivan), Thursday, 10 May 2012 20:53 (fourteen years ago)

I'll usually stick up for the underdog who didn't spend tens of millions on transfers. When that underdog is Bolton i can make an exception, though.

Would have rather seen Blackburn stick around.

Just like you, except hot (ShariVari), Thursday, 10 May 2012 20:54 (fourteen years ago)

bolton have just looked so bad lately that any goodwill i had towards them has evaporated, qpr are still managed by mark hughes tho

tebow kortwa (nakhchivan), Thursday, 10 May 2012 20:56 (fourteen years ago)

Bolton have been terrible, but obv I want them to stay up. I'd like some massive retooling in the summer though. Getting better players in - not buying British would be a start. Maybe finding some plan B in case of the unlikely situation that Holden and Lee are both out for the season due to injury...

Fas Ro Duh (Gukbe), Thursday, 10 May 2012 20:59 (fourteen years ago)

if qpr didn't have hughes and hadn't spunked a bundle of cash on england's c team in january i'd be for them but they do and they did so.

pet tommy & the barkhaters (darraghmac), Friday, 11 May 2012 00:05 (fourteen years ago)

is the most inventive English striker of his generation included in that c team?

Number None, Friday, 11 May 2012 00:09 (fourteen years ago)

i don't think he's lived in england that long tbh

pet tommy & the barkhaters (darraghmac), Friday, 11 May 2012 00:11 (fourteen years ago)

Stale Solbakken for Wolves, then? Ex-Wimbledon, recently sacked by Köln ... this is bound to be a good move.

Ismael Klata, Friday, 11 May 2012 06:16 (fourteen years ago)

he's no Terry Connor

like Joe Pasquale and Gandhi (Noodle Vague), Friday, 11 May 2012 06:18 (fourteen years ago)

He won a bunch of championships with FC Copenhagen though, right?

Fas Ro Duh (Gukbe), Friday, 11 May 2012 06:21 (fourteen years ago)

so i read. still paper talk at this point.

like Joe Pasquale and Gandhi (Noodle Vague), Friday, 11 May 2012 06:22 (fourteen years ago)

having said which, i need to stop reading the Express and Star

Pacific Trash Vortex (Nasty, Brutish & Short), Friday, 11 May 2012 07:22 (fourteen years ago)

no we are not

Fas Ro Duh (Gukbe), Friday, 11 May 2012 07:27 (fourteen years ago)

Except you

Pacific Trash Vortex (Nasty, Brutish & Short), Friday, 11 May 2012 07:30 (fourteen years ago)

This weekend we are all QPR fans (except Gukbe and other Bolton fans and City fans and Mark Hughes haters and people who really don't want to see Man United win the league again)

Pacific Trash Vortex (Nasty, Brutish & Short), Friday, 11 May 2012 07:31 (fourteen years ago)

damn skippy.

Fas Ro Duh (Gukbe), Friday, 11 May 2012 07:31 (fourteen years ago)

I am a QPR fan this and every weekend. So there.

Manfred Mann meets Man Parrish (ithappens), Friday, 11 May 2012 08:46 (fourteen years ago)

This weekend I'm mostly a Stoke fan. Sorry trotters but you'll never bring the lols like QPR.

Ismael Klata, Friday, 11 May 2012 08:49 (fourteen years ago)

see, klata gets it

r|t|c, Friday, 11 May 2012 09:01 (fourteen years ago)

literally have no idea why anyone would wanna deny the coming to fruition of sparky's budding new hypnotic assortment of skilful francophone loons and clogging britcunts, a burlesque hybrid of newcastle new and old

r|t|c, Friday, 11 May 2012 09:04 (fourteen years ago)

I forgot about Hughes, he does need to cap his career with a relegation. On balance it can wait though, his self-regard does bring a certain something.

In other news, just noticed that Chelsea under Di Matteo have the worst record in the top half of the table.

Ismael Klata, Friday, 11 May 2012 09:17 (fourteen years ago)

what?

Pacific Trash Vortex (Nasty, Brutish & Short), Friday, 11 May 2012 09:28 (fourteen years ago)

Since 4th March:
Chelsea P 10, Pts 15
Liverpool P 11, Pts 13

Pacific Trash Vortex (Nasty, Brutish & Short), Friday, 11 May 2012 09:34 (fourteen years ago)

Ah, scratch that - I've taken it from 4 April.

Ismael Klata, Friday, 11 May 2012 09:38 (fourteen years ago)

Dalglish to be moved upstairs, new manager brought in, owners not impressed with the Suarez PR disaster

Pacific Trash Vortex (Nasty, Brutish & Short), Friday, 11 May 2012 11:09 (fourteen years ago)

Where's this from?

Ismael Klata, Friday, 11 May 2012 11:12 (fourteen years ago)

is that the same 8-0 game with the ganso backheel goal? the other team should have kicked the living shit out of them

r|t|c, Friday, 11 May 2012 12:15 (fourteen years ago)

aye, they were begging for a kerloning alright

Number None, Friday, 11 May 2012 12:18 (fourteen years ago)

emery's english was pretty rudimentary last time i checked, but otherwise he is an excellent candidate

www.tumblr.com/tagged/jerome-boateng (nakhchivan), Friday, 11 May 2012 12:26 (fourteen years ago)

can't go wrong with ex-Valencia managers

pandemic, Friday, 11 May 2012 12:29 (fourteen years ago)

think we need a '101 stale solbakken newspaper headlines' thread. dudes name is perfect for a football manager.

Thoughts? You must have loads. (a hoy hoy), Friday, 11 May 2012 12:31 (fourteen years ago)

unai emery couldn't be more rafa if he tried

except maybe for winning the league and the uefa cup, but then madrid and barcelona are a bit stronger than in 2004

www.tumblr.com/tagged/jerome-boateng (nakhchivan), Friday, 11 May 2012 12:31 (fourteen years ago)

Koln were a horror show defensively under Solbakken. How much of that was the players and how much was the coaching I don't know. At least he has plenty of experience with managing drunk players so he should be okay with Roger Johnson.

pandemic, Friday, 11 May 2012 12:35 (fourteen years ago)

owners not impressed with the Suarez PR disaster

yeah cos they did so much to help on that front didn't they. heard the dalglish rumour but i think it's a load of bollocks myself. more likely is that steve clarke will be shown the door and new assistant will be brought in, or borrell from the reserves will be promoted. new warrior home kit is lovely btw.

Chris, Friday, 11 May 2012 15:00 (fourteen years ago)

Ooh, very nice. Love the badge. What have they done to Suarez' face though? He's all subtle disproportions.

Ismael Klata, Friday, 11 May 2012 15:12 (fourteen years ago)

idk looks a lot cheaper irl in the video, the goalie top esp. think it's the collar mainly

lol at carroll in a roman centurion costume as well

r|t|c, Friday, 11 May 2012 16:04 (fourteen years ago)

Kompany wins Players' Player Of The Year. Good choice imo, are they normally this bold? I kind of expect them to be the summer version of SPOTY, which might be unfair - can't remember if it was them gave it to li'l Scotty Parker last year.

Pardew takes the managers award, don't know who votes for that.

Ismael Klata, Friday, 11 May 2012 20:57 (fourteen years ago)

what's the difference between this and the PFA award?

Number None, Friday, 11 May 2012 21:01 (fourteen years ago)

I read that Emery went to Spartak Moscow but now it looks like that's not official yet. He's fun to watch on the touchline.

boxall, Friday, 11 May 2012 21:03 (fourteen years ago)

I thought they were the same thing xp. Not ideal, having so many slap-up meals in the run-up to The Showdown. Cunning by your lads to avoid being in contention.

Ismael Klata, Friday, 11 May 2012 21:06 (fourteen years ago)

It seems the award you're referring to is the "Barclays Player of the Season". The players gave it to RVP

Number None, Friday, 11 May 2012 21:11 (fourteen years ago)

I'm on a nightmare run today

Ismael Klata, Friday, 11 May 2012 21:13 (fourteen years ago)

Looks like the players' last out there choice was Sheringham in 2001

Number None, Friday, 11 May 2012 21:16 (fourteen years ago)

Five posts today xp - I've endorsed Sparky and the Wolves players have been dissing Solbakken. Even the new Liverpool badge is getting slated.
