The thing I saw said Whitney was probably not going to make it to s2, and Up All Night was.

Outsourced lasted a full year? Gods.
― Pot Leeedom (Leee), Tuesday, 8 May 2012 04:37 (fourteen years ago)
I read that Whitney was likely to be renewed. All guessing until next week, I suppose.
― Fas Ro Duh (Gukbe), Tuesday, 8 May 2012 04:38 (fourteen years ago)
the office (which might not even make it to next season though i can't imagine nbc drops that show w/o milking a finale and a return carrell appearance out of it) off
Please do this! The last season was the worst season ever, and the show has devolved into utter meaninglessness. Still halfway entertaining, but really horribly, lazily written.
― Emperor Cos Dashit (Adam Bruneau), Tuesday, 8 May 2012 05:44 (fourteen years ago)
Smash is really an awful show.
― Mordy, Tuesday, 8 May 2012 12:34 (fourteen years ago)
This would be ideal, imo.
― Johnny Fever, Tuesday, 8 May 2012 15:05 (fourteen years ago)
Smash IS terrible, but i still feel like it's funny/bad enough that it kind of justifies its existence, if that makes any sense
Up All Night definitely deserves a second season
― Nhex, Tuesday, 8 May 2012 15:31 (fourteen years ago)
i'm a broken record on this but Up All Night is a waste of its cast, they need to stop dragging that mediocre shit out and let them go off and do better projects
― some dude, Tuesday, 8 May 2012 18:35 (fourteen years ago)
You're not the only person I know who is vocal about disliking Up All Night, but that show for me is all about specific moments that I wasn't expecting or moments that could be tropes but were pulled off in ways that are fresh.
― Johnny Fever, Tuesday, 8 May 2012 18:41 (fourteen years ago)
I have a feeling that it could be one of those shows that finds its feet in the second season and becomes really funny, like Parks and Rec.
― Respectfully, Tyrese Gibson (Nicole), Tuesday, 8 May 2012 19:03 (fourteen years ago)
The back half of the first season was already much better than the front half.
― Johnny Fever, Tuesday, 8 May 2012 19:07 (fourteen years ago)
the 30 Rock season finale airing next week is titled "What Will Happen to the Gang Next Year?" which i can only assume will be an episode-length It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia homage
― some dude, Tuesday, 8 May 2012 19:31 (fourteen years ago)
Up All Night grew on me and now I love it.
― dan selzer, Tuesday, 8 May 2012 19:47 (fourteen years ago)
something grew on me once. but then they used some liquid nitrogen and it came right off.
― s.clover, Tuesday, 8 May 2012 20:28 (fourteen years ago)
Me too! I've never watched SNL so had no prior knowledge of Maya Rudolph, who is great on UAN.

Was there a single episode this season that didn't have at least one "Kenneth Is Immortal" joke? They've never gone so all in with that in the past, have they?
― Johnny Fever, Friday, 18 May 2012 05:25 (fourteen years ago)
She's doing a lot of movies so she probably isn't available?
― Respectfully, Tyrese Gibson (Nicole), Friday, 18 May 2012 12:25 (fourteen years ago)
i know realistically that was the case, but when they started talking their whole backstory it reminded me how they spent how many seasons developing this arc for it to fizzle out in two episodes? yeah i know, nobody watches 30 rock for the character development
also a similar thing happened to her character on Scrubs, which was almost as ridiculous
― Nhex, Friday, 18 May 2012 13:13 (fourteen years ago)
yeah but that was way more poorly conceived
― raw feel vegan (silby), Friday, 18 May 2012 18:13 (fourteen years ago)
does S&P just still not let people get abortions on prime-time comedies?
― raw feel vegan (silby), Friday, 18 May 2012 18:14 (fourteen years ago)
No, but it's okay to let audiences know you can get a woman pregnant by premature ejaculating on her.
― Leslie Mann: Boner Machine (C. Grisso/McCain), Friday, 18 May 2012 18:34 (fourteen years ago)
EBanks is not a huge start or anything but she's been averaging 4-5 movies a year since way before she did anything on 30 Rock, wasn't it always clear that her role on the show was going to be limited and sporadic with an end date? i mean who gives a fuck about plausibility on 30 Rock, the fact that they had her kidnapped by a foreign dictator to keep her out of most of the past season was better than any 'real' plotline could have been.
