shane really showed up tonight. first time seeing canelo, not overwhelmed, a money fight with pac or floyd or whoever definitely not a good move for him yet

these pretzels are makeing me horney (Hungry4Ass), Sunday, 6 May 2012 03:44 (fourteen years ago)

these pretzels are makeing me horney (Hungry4Ass), Sunday, 6 May 2012 04:17 (fourteen years ago)

arguable cotto couldve won the last 4 rds?

johnny crunch, Sunday, 6 May 2012 04:24 (fourteen years ago)

these pretzels are makeing me horney (Hungry4Ass), Sunday, 6 May 2012 04:24 (fourteen years ago)

cotto's gassed

these pretzels are makeing me horney (Hungry4Ass), Sunday, 6 May 2012 04:30 (fourteen years ago)

floyd almost dropped him

johnny crunch, Sunday, 6 May 2012 04:39 (fourteen years ago)

Floyd lost what, one, two rounds top? Dominant as always.

EZ Snappin, Sunday, 6 May 2012 04:40 (fourteen years ago)

yea cotto did a good job coming fwd, looking busy generally until rd 9 but nvr hurt him

johnny crunch, Sunday, 6 May 2012 04:42 (fourteen years ago)

why do you hate vowels, johnny crunch

these pretzels are makeing me horney (Hungry4Ass), Sunday, 6 May 2012 04:45 (fourteen years ago)

Floyd knocked them all out of his words. Not enough $$ left to buy a vowel

EZ Snappin, Sunday, 6 May 2012 04:47 (fourteen years ago)

that was a sweet fight until cotto gassed. rounds 4-6 belonged to him imo

these pretzels are makeing me horney (Hungry4Ass), Sunday, 6 May 2012 04:47 (fourteen years ago)

take away all the bullshit and just look at his style and you just can't deny Mayweather. That was a tremendous performance, gauged Cotto almost perfectly. Cotto came to fight & did pretty well although I think Mayweather's accuracy in early rounds has a Tyson-like effect on his opponents: he scares them out of throwing their best punches because their instincts quickly tell them "that will leave you open, if you're open Floyd will land at least one." I gave 4-6 to Cotto too, but not super-decisively except for 4.

Alvarez looked really good, I love Shane a lot & always love fighters who just want to keep going but he needs to hear the message the scorecards are sending him & step down. Get into training imo, he could become a great trainer

The traditional home of boxing, um, Luxembourg, have sanctioned a Haye vs Chisora fight to be held in Britain despite neither boxer having a British licence.

This completely sucks. I really like Lamont Peterson but he's toast now - stylistically he's a much more interesting fighter than Khan imo. Oh well. Dumb athletes can't seem to stay off the juice so to hell with them

cosi fan whitford (underrated aerosmith bootlegs I have owned), Thursday, 10 May 2012 01:43 (fourteen years ago)

something about that fight stunk, but i didn't expect to find out he was on performance enhancing drugs for it too. Boxing doesnt need that kinda shit right now. Its stock has never been lower. Very sad and hope its not widespread.

goddamit, I don't want to root for Pretty Boy Floyd if they ever fight

Convicted repeat woman-beater vs homophobe. It's a tough choice.

Djibril Citté (onimo), Tuesday, 15 May 2012 17:57 (fourteen years ago)

hmm yeah think the convicted repeat woman-beater is probably just a bit worse than the fundie moron

I realized the other day that 99.9999% of the reason I hate floyd is because he's ducking Manny, so in some universe in which he wasn't ducking him I really wouldn't have a problem rooting for him.

Matt Armstrong, Saturday, 19 May 2012 00:12 (fourteen years ago)

Manny's pretty bullshit these days anyway but if you read Ryan Songalia in re: the paper that "broke" that Pacquiao story, it's pretty shady

cosi fan whitford (underrated aerosmith bootlegs I have owned), Saturday, 19 May 2012 01:02 (fourteen years ago)

I'm not gonna get up in arms about him opposing gay marriage considering how many of the greatest boxers and how many of my favorite boxers were basically sociopaths.

Matt Armstrong, Saturday, 19 May 2012 01:53 (fourteen years ago)

David Price looked terrific vs. Sexton, hard to argue he's not the top heavyweight prospect.

Matt Armstrong, Sunday, 20 May 2012 02:21 (fourteen years ago)

fantastic atmosphere in Nottingham.

Bute's legs look dodgy.

it looks like something rupert the bear would wear (Algerian Goalkeeper), Saturday, 26 May 2012 23:36 (fourteen years ago)

All over. What a performance by Froch!!!!!!!!!!!!!

it looks like something rupert the bear would wear (Algerian Goalkeeper), Saturday, 26 May 2012 23:37 (fourteen years ago)

He's given Bute a real doing here.

it looks like something rupert the bear would wear (Algerian Goalkeeper), Saturday, 26 May 2012 23:38 (fourteen years ago)

if you get the chance to watch this then please do so. What a performance by Froch. As good as i've seen in britain in years. it surpassed the atmosphere!

Everyones saying thats up there with *that* Hatton fight and im inclined to agree

I missed this, wasn't being shown where I'm at but BadLeftHook's account of it suggests it was a master class by Froch

cosi fan whitford (underrated aerosmith bootlegs I have owned), Sunday, 27 May 2012 01:52 (fourteen years ago)

it was. He was devastating.

it looks like something rupert the bear would wear (Algerian Goalkeeper), Sunday, 27 May 2012 11:00 (fourteen years ago)

After his impressive battering of Bute, he said: 'Fighting like that, I'd beat anybody in my weight division. There's nobody that can touch me. If I catch Ward on the chin with some of the shots like I landed on Bute, it's game over. It's a simple as that.

'Andre Ward had a good night and Carl Froch had a bad night and that's the reason he won that fight.

Éden Éden Éden / H.A.Z.A.R.D (nakhchivan), Sunday, 27 May 2012 22:50 (fourteen years ago)

apart from the weird third person, i didn't see that at all, ward just looked a lot better

Éden Éden Éden / H.A.Z.A.R.D (nakhchivan), Sunday, 27 May 2012 22:51 (fourteen years ago)

he did but anyone can have an offnight. Plus Froch says he didn't stick to his plan.

it looks like something rupert the bear would wear (Algerian Goalkeeper), Sunday, 27 May 2012 22:58 (fourteen years ago)

Bute took such a beating id expect him to retire as i dont think a fighter can recover from such a hiding. The referee couldve stopped it earlier.

Paul "The Punisher" Williams, on the comeback trail after that very memorable KO by Sergio Martinez, was in a motorcycle accident today and is likely paralyzed from the waist down. He is said to be in good spirits considering the gravity of his injuries; obviously he won't be fighting Alvarez in September. He gets surgery on Wednesday, let's think good thoughts for that.
