jason!

this is the car's name, right?

grimly fiendish (grimlord), Wednesday, 22 June 2005 14:19 (twenty-one years ago)

I'm sure you already know that Prestwick Airport is the only place in Britain ever visited by Elvis.
Which is probably why they keep it like that. "Ooohh! Elvis looked at this sign! We'll never wash it again". I mean, a manual departures board. Well, really.

xpost

stet (stet), Wednesday, 22 June 2005 14:19 (twenty-one years ago)

grimly if you're willing to pay £8 for a pie than you deserve contempt from the surly relinquishers of said baked goods.

Sociah T Azzahole (blueski), Wednesday, 22 June 2005 14:24 (twenty-one years ago)

Jason is a good Greek name.

Mädchen (Madchen), Wednesday, 22 June 2005 14:37 (twenty-one years ago)

yeah what idiot OKd that "pure dead brilliant" advert campaign?

cozen (Cozen), Wednesday, 22 June 2005 14:38 (twenty-one years ago)

x-post: you have a greek car?!

grimly fiendish (grimlord), Wednesday, 22 June 2005 14:42 (twenty-one years ago)

Yaris sounds Greek to me. You arrived after that conversation, I think.

Mädchen (Madchen), Wednesday, 22 June 2005 14:51 (twenty-one years ago)

oic! that makes sense.

i think.

grimly fiendish (grimlord), Wednesday, 22 June 2005 14:59 (twenty-one years ago)

Jason? Keep well clear of dockyards, Madchen...

stet (stet), Wednesday, 22 June 2005 15:25 (twenty-one years ago)

I thought you were going to call it the Argo?

I have tons of free time to take off work and can easily come down to Prestwick to get you in my sadly-nameless Fiesta. The A77 is a fab road and even if it wasn't it's better than being in work. If anyone wants to come with me and tie it in with a visit to a garden centre, there are two very nice ones in the vicinity of Prestwick.

Alternatively, if your flight times are not that work-friendly, you can get off the Prestwick-Glasgow train at Paisley and I can skive off work and show you some "lovely" pubs until Madchen gets out of work. (Madchen, should I take them to Langs?)

ailsa (ailsa), Wednesday, 22 June 2005 15:38 (twenty-one years ago)

In fact, if you aren't coming until 22nd July I might not even *have* a job to skive off by then.

ailsa (ailsa), Wednesday, 22 June 2005 15:39 (twenty-one years ago)

xx post.

a cab to glasgow from prestwick will actually set you back about £70 so don't do it. i got one once in an emergency and nearly had a heart attack when presented with the total.

the facilities at prestwick have actually improved quite a bit recently. they're pretty much on a par with the awfulness that is glasgow airport's catering now.

stirmonster (stirmonster), Wednesday, 22 June 2005 20:00 (twenty-one years ago)

But hey, there's not much fog at Prestwick!

KeefW (kmw), Wednesday, 22 June 2005 20:04 (twenty-one years ago)

train from prestwick airport to glasgow central, what, £7 return, plus you get a discount with your boarding pass, or have I missed something?

cozen (Cozen), Wednesday, 22 June 2005 20:09 (twenty-one years ago)

I just noticed Gerry slipped the word "roffle" into a sentence up there. Good work, sir.

Cozen, the thing you have missed is that we are being *nice* to our visitors. And I want a skive off work.

ailsa (ailsa), Wednesday, 22 June 2005 20:35 (twenty-one years ago)

I don't even know who is visiting.

cozen (Cozen), Wednesday, 22 June 2005 20:50 (twenty-one years ago)

!

a minicab or a hack?

grimly fiendish (grimlord), Wednesday, 22 June 2005 20:51 (twenty-one years ago)

I passed my exam.

cozen (Cozen), Wednesday, 22 June 2005 20:52 (twenty-one years ago)

it was a troon minicab. maybe he was at it?

stirmonster (stirmonster), Wednesday, 22 June 2005 21:01 (twenty-one years ago)

he sounds a little at it, tbh.

cozen (Cozen), Wednesday, 22 June 2005 21:02 (twenty-one years ago)

well done, cozen!
(which exam?)

dahlin (dahlin), Thursday, 23 June 2005 08:47 (twenty-one years ago)

oh yeah... wills graduates today! how come no one organised a stalking trip to st andrews? hmph.. woulda been a fantastic maiden voyage for iason/argo

dahlin (dahlin), Thursday, 23 June 2005 09:16 (twenty-one years ago)

I have just led the procession into graduation. They forgot to get me a Manchester hood for the second year running. These things are important when your hood is furry and nobody else's is. I had to be a faux Strath BA in boring blue and white.

Mädchen (Madchen), Thursday, 23 June 2005 09:27 (twenty-one years ago)

BA humbug
BAstards

dahlin (dahlin), Thursday, 23 June 2005 10:21 (twenty-one years ago)

btw madchen and ailsa, i took your advice and ventured off the glasgow thread. i think it's gotten me in trouble

dahlin (dahlin), Thursday, 23 June 2005 11:03 (twenty-one years ago)

Do you know who Ned is now?

Mädchen (Madchen), Thursday, 23 June 2005 11:30 (twenty-one years ago)

Yeah, I noticed you'd been spreading your wings. Like giving Ally a guitar and making him a pop star, WE DID THAT TO YOU!

ailsa (ailsa), Thursday, 23 June 2005 15:46 (twenty-one years ago)

not only do i know him, but i think i've managed to make an enemy of him. oops. you've created a monster!

dahlin (dahlin), Thursday, 23 June 2005 16:33 (twenty-one years ago)

What is this thread of which you speak?

Mädchen (Madchen), Friday, 24 June 2005 08:41 (twenty-one years ago)

I am reviving this thread because it is quite obvious that Dahlin and I are both bored and still at work.

Mädchen (Madchen), Tuesday, 28 June 2005 18:17 (twenty-one years ago)

I will keep posting until she does.

Mädchen (Madchen), Tuesday, 28 June 2005 18:17 (twenty-one years ago)

(x-post)

Mädchen (Madchen), Tuesday, 28 June 2005 18:17 (twenty-one years ago)

tap...tap...tap...

Mädchen (Madchen), Tuesday, 28 June 2005 18:20 (twenty-one years ago)

Can I interrupt? The tennis is off due to rain and the mister is watching Enterprise and I am bored.

Are you dotting on Saturday (is it the St1ng one this time round?)

ailsa (ailsa), Tuesday, 28 June 2005 18:22 (twenty-one years ago)

Hey! I'm at my grandmother's ninetieth birthday in Chesterfield this weekend I'm afraid. I want to see Sting Junior but there we are. Somebody should take a photo and post it here.

Mädchen (Madchen), Tuesday, 28 June 2005 18:23 (twenty-one years ago)

gosh i'm slow

dahlin (dahlin), Tuesday, 28 June 2005 18:26 (twenty-one years ago)

Are you avoiding me? Every time I suggest we go out, you keep going to Eng-ur-land.

You have to take me clothes-shopping, the wedding approaches. I will repay you with a photo of Sting Jr.

(xpost)

ailsa (ailsa), Tuesday, 28 June 2005 18:27 (twenty-one years ago)

Okey dokey.

(Did you hear something? I'm sure I heard something.)

Mädchen (Madchen), Tuesday, 28 June 2005 18:27 (twenty-one years ago)

hello? hello? i'm here!
... and having surreal conversations about amputated arm stumps with me editor. hmmmm...

dahlin (dahlin), Tuesday, 28 June 2005 18:31 (twenty-one years ago)

Ah, there you are.

Mädchen (Madchen), Tuesday, 28 June 2005 18:32 (twenty-one years ago)

I have just starting thinking about making a deep fried pie pie. This is wrong in so many ways. However, the mister is watching Enterprise which currently involves Sam Beckett from Quantum Leap snogging a woman with green skin, so I am allowed some form of distraction, however unhealthy.

ailsa (ailsa), Tuesday, 28 June 2005 18:34 (twenty-one years ago)

Mormon pie with jelly in it?

Mädchen (Madchen), Tuesday, 28 June 2005 18:37 (twenty-one years ago)

jell-O darling, jell-O
ewwwww (to all of the above)

dahlin (dahlin), Tuesday, 28 June 2005 18:43 (twenty-one years ago)

make the pie! make the pie! then send a slice by taxi to grimly fiendish's desk of working-long-into-the-evening doom, c/o hell, renfield street. even pastry-driven cardiac arrest would beat this particular magazine-related misery.

grimly fiendish (grimlord), Tuesday, 28 June 2005 18:57 (twenty-one years ago)

I don't have ingredients to make pies just now (also I'm watching CSI). I bet if you wandered out to the Blue Lagoon they would dip a scotch pie in extra batter and double fry it for you. Do it!

ailsa (ailsa), Tuesday, 28 June 2005 19:07 (twenty-one years ago)

Post some to me. I would wait three days for a deep fried pie pie. I mean, it's not like it's going to go off in the interim, is it?

aldo_cowpat (aldo_cowpat), Tuesday, 28 June 2005 19:08 (twenty-one years ago)

I feel some pressure to actually come through with this now. Perhaps I shall bring some to Ned-FAP.

ailsa (ailsa), Tuesday, 28 June 2005 19:16 (twenty-one years ago)

if it's going to be over two nights, we'll need sustenance :)

grimly fiendish (grimlord), Tuesday, 28 June 2005 19:19 (twenty-one years ago)

I have cleverly taken time off work during Ned-FAP as that last Monday wasn't too good for me and that was only about three and a half hours of booze. I am a big pansy girlie these days.

ailsa (ailsa), Tuesday, 28 June 2005 19:21 (twenty-one years ago)

i can't wait to meet ned. tho i meet neds every day, i think this one will be special. plus, to see grimly in a linen suit... aye cor-rhumba!

dahlin (dahlin), Tuesday, 28 June 2005 19:30 (twenty-one years ago)
