Ballot submitted! It's more mainstream than I expected, once all was said and done, but I threw a few decent curveballs in there that will hopefully have some effect. Also, I never really considered just how many Puppet Master movies there are, but it thankfully made the top quarter of my ballot pretty much a no-brainer.

my ballot is definitely mainstream/"classical" horror (e.g., i have a few silents in there) b/c that's about as far into the horror genre as i'm normally willing to go. so there's very little of the buckets-of-blood-and-gore stuff on my ballot.

20 ballots in now. A movie I presumed would be in the top 10 finally managed to get there with the most recent batch of ballots, after languishing in the 40s or 50s for awhile now.

Still plenty of room to push your favorites into the top 100. Right now there are eight movies in there on the strength of a mere 2 ballots.

I'm going to try to get it together tonight or tomorrow -- I treat deadlines like due dates, unfortunately.

Hey Eric, did you say there might be a short extension to the voting deadline? I'm working my ass off at the moment, and don't see me whittling down my incredibly long shortlist at any time before the actual deadline day...

sort of bummed that there haven't been more responses (while still delaying my own). i guess horror fandom on ILX is a small but vocal cult.

I'd be unsurprised if the number of ballots doubled (tripled?) by the deadline.

I don't want to encourage everyone to procrastinate, but yes, I will likely hold open the polls for an extra day or two or three.

Been super busy with end-of-semester stuff. I have a 48-item ballot ready to go but I've been putting off finding two more films and sending it for about two weeks... argh.

I do want to mention/pimp 2 that I cut at the last moment because they were just not quite horror enough (more revenge story really) that would have been in my top 20, RED by lucky mckee (well kinda) and the The Horseman (not the horsemen with dennis quaid), which are both completely amazing.

I'm sure I forgot something of vital importance, but I ended up with a solid list of 50 movies I really like, so I'm okay with it. I don't know if it's super MOR (probably) but I don't think anything on there will come as a surprise to anybody who knows me. Ultimately, I picked based almost entirely on gut - if I thought, "Holy shit I LOVE that movie!" about a movie, it went on the list. Top ten definitely in order, next ten or 15 sort of in order, everything after that was just free for all.

Ultimately I never got around to watching most of the movies recommended here that looked great, but two I watched in preparation for this poll made it on the ballot so... success?

i think i'm done! holy crap that was arduous.

it's like a list of my 50 favorite movies (and i had to slash and burn about 20 after the initial whittling)
i didn't watch any extras because choosing from my existing favorites was plenty hard enough, i'll watch new ones later.

Between seeing people rep for it in this thread (some who just saw it for the first time thanks to the poll) and my first-place vote, I'm looking forward to seeing a movie that I hadn't even heard of a year ago get a decent position in the results.
