This was the last ep sent to critics (at least in the initial review package), which is the same as last year,

Critics got six eps last year! I expect that semi-major characters will start to bite it starting next episode (I haven't read the books; I'm just guessing) and they want to hold onto that as long as they can...

Walter Galt, Tuesday, 24 April 2012 14:25 (fourteen years ago)

Walter, your expectation is correct.

So... being careful not to spoil... in the books, Arya becomes Roose Bolton's cup-bearer at Harrenhal, not Tywin's, correct? This is a BIG change from the book and I'm not sure where they'll head with it...

um that is very much a spoiler though

ciderpress, Tuesday, 24 April 2012 17:45 (fourteen years ago)

ciderpress, Tuesday, 24 April 2012 17:47 (fourteen years ago)

I don't think a departure from the book is a spoiler.

stay in school if you want to kiw (Gukbe), Tuesday, 24 April 2012 17:47 (fourteen years ago)

its not a departure from the book, his post references stuff that hasnt happened yet

ciderpress, Tuesday, 24 April 2012 17:48 (fourteen years ago)

except that it won't happen now, because Tywin is at Harrenhal instead

stay in school if you want to kiw (Gukbe), Tuesday, 24 April 2012 17:49 (fourteen years ago)

Sorry! What Gukbe said there was my reasoning as to why it wasn't a spoiler. Will talk on the other thread.

til the sound of my voice will haint u (Jon Lewis), Tuesday, 24 April 2012 18:38 (fourteen years ago)

was sad not to see Renly's peach that Stannis obsesses over forever though

gyac, Tuesday, 24 April 2012 22:15 (fourteen years ago)

"is he a ham" was fantastic.

welp, just ordered that.

Clay, Wednesday, 25 April 2012 01:23 (fourteen years ago)

according to the poster that is from the press kit and is a preview of the Blu-Ray feature. kind of thought HBOGo would mean I wouldn't have to bother buying the set but damn, if that's the kind of extras they've got.

stay in school if you want to kiw (Gukbe), Wednesday, 25 April 2012 02:01 (fourteen years ago)

wait the new gods are 6k y/o - thats not v new!

lag∞n, Wednesday, 25 April 2012 03:14 (fourteen years ago)

okay, i'm starting in w season 2 tonight, after saving up episodes for a while. thought i might be lost & playing catch-up for a while, cuz i remembered almost nothing about what'd been going on, but no, it's all come back. very enjoyable, too. do find myself bothered by the same thing that bugged me most last season: everyone on this show is complete idiot. no one behaves with even a trace amount of political sense or tact. funniest thing is that those who seem as though they're supposed to be the most wily (petyr baelish, for instance) are the most catastrophically stupid in this regard. "knowledge is power" my ass.

THE KITTEN TYPE (contenderizer), Wednesday, 25 April 2012 03:55 (fourteen years ago)

but that's the very magic of the show!

obliquity of the ecliptic (rrrobyn), Wednesday, 25 April 2012 04:02 (fourteen years ago)

im not enjoying this season as much, i think maybe because the watching all in one sitting is especially good for game of thrones idk

lag∞n, Wednesday, 25 April 2012 04:04 (fourteen years ago)

then u dont think abt it too hard

lag∞n, Wednesday, 25 April 2012 04:04 (fourteen years ago)

for sure. i mean, i read the first three books in a couple of weeks. thinking hard was at a minimum. highly satisfying.

obliquity of the ecliptic (rrrobyn), Wednesday, 25 April 2012 04:06 (fourteen years ago)

yet i still feel the anguish of waiting a week for each new ep

obliquity of the ecliptic (rrrobyn), Wednesday, 25 April 2012 04:08 (fourteen years ago)

prob by the end when everyone gets their head cut off i will like it as much tho

lag∞n, Wednesday, 25 April 2012 04:08 (fourteen years ago)

oh man your mind will be BLOWN when you get to the ________ !!!!!!!

stay in school if you want to kiw (Gukbe), Wednesday, 25 April 2012 04:09 (fourteen years ago)

not that i know but that's what basically everyone who has read the books says about the show

stay in school if you want to kiw (Gukbe), Wednesday, 25 April 2012 04:10 (fourteen years ago)

i have been reading the spoilers thread i must admit

lag∞n, Wednesday, 25 April 2012 04:11 (fourteen years ago)

frankly i prob wouldve just read the wikipedia summaries of all the books by now except that theyre not even finished so whats the point

lag∞n, Wednesday, 25 April 2012 04:12 (fourteen years ago)

have tried real hard to avoid all spoilers. so far, i've managed to protect my virtue* from the taint of undesired knowledge. did read one thing abt tyrion that i hope doesn't happen, but i gather it lies beyond this season.

* ignorance

THE KITTEN TYPE (contenderizer), Wednesday, 25 April 2012 04:29 (fourteen years ago)

I am reading the books now b/c I keep spoiling myself through, like, googling fairly innocuous questions about background stuff re: religion or history of westeros. books are v entertaining thus far and I usually hate this shit.

Clay, Wednesday, 25 April 2012 06:13 (fourteen years ago)

3 episodes in. tyrion at least can lay claim to some sense.

THE KITTEN TYPE (contenderizer), Wednesday, 25 April 2012 07:27 (fourteen years ago)

I opened the spoiler thread thinking it would be fine as I've read up to book 4, but there's a real arse of a spoiler for something that presumably happens in book 5 right in the first post.

dogg it is a spoiler thread what were you thinking

catbus otm (gbx), Wednesday, 25 April 2012 16:27 (fourteen years ago)

Yeah first post of spoiler thread is deadly. Serious thread title is serious.

I kinda love how ruthless it is.
