the missing part is that maddow basically said she hadn't been covering this story that much until now (for whatever reason)--but now that there's been an arrest it's become a national story. (???)

So the whole "no one is arresting this guy" thing was less important than "Santorum lol" for the past month, but now that public pressure (from elsewhere) has resulted in an actual arrest (a rare case perhaps of the justice system actually working) she has deemed it important enough to cover--just coincidental that it happened right after the GOP race ended.

so is anybody else following zimmerman on twitter?

presuming this is real, he states outright that he is not in prison which makes sense because any prison that this guy is in is gonna get mobbed and word would get out at any large institution if he was there... he's likely at a safe house of some sort?

yeah he says he's in "custody" and he seems rightfully terrified of jail

hmm yeah hadn't thought that he might not be in jail right now. I guess that doesn't happen til after the arraignment

he's not in prison because he hasn't been sentenced

there are probably all sorts of different jail arrangements available, probably some sort of luxury solitary cell for celebrities, politicans and police officers.

well the judge can mandate you be held in prison while awaiting trial, that's what bail is all about
