so my bf and i are seeing a couple's counselor. don't worry; no crisis. we're coming up on 5 years together and this is kind of just a kick-the-tires, check-the-oil sort of tune-up.

anyway, our therapist is a v v dapper older man, probably gay, and funny as hell. it's actually pretty great! AND mostly covered by my boyfriend's health plan.

i'm feeling like a lucky man.

I've always wondered why Judy was a gay icon and that story sort of answered that question (I previously thought that it was just the pills and booze) and I sort of get it, but the her music says nothing to me about my life, I guess. Or actually IDK if it does b/c like Brodie, I only really know Somewhere Over the Rainbow and "that song about the train."

barely know anything or care about judy garland but given that i love mariah, feel like i can't exactly criticise older gays for loving an older stereotypically gay favourite

i've no idea what makes most gay favourites in any field gay favourites. never worked it out.

When I explain why I love Madonna it's often for some of the reasons lots of straight ones do, so I don't understand the special frisson.
