creepshow, creepshow 2 blah bloo blargh
― diamanda ram dass (Edward III), Thursday, 5 April 2012 20:27 (fourteen years ago)
apt pupil is a really underrated king adaptation but not sure it counts as horror
yeah, I had it on the list but pulled it for reasons similar to Misery not really fitting into a horror poll (despite being a mainstream precursor to what would end up being called "torture porn", lol)
Both Creepshows are already nominated.

SHOULD I SEE: the dead zone? Always avoided it due to STEPHEN KING MOVIE (with aforementioned quality exceptions)
― HE HATES THESE CANS (Austerity Ponies), Thursday, 5 April 2012 20:30 (fourteen years ago)
Thinner is one of the most grotesquely racist and sexist films i've ever seen in my life. I'd go along with the idea that only Carrie and the Shining are worth seeing - and i think both are fairly over-rated.
― Une semaine de Bunty (ShariVari), Thursday, April 5, 2012 4:27 PM
rewatched a ton of classic 70s horror pix w/ my teenage brother-in-law years ago, was kind of shocked to come out realizing carrie is a stone cold classic
I liked but did not love the shining, until the recent DVD remasters restored it to some sort of eyebreaking glory
otherwise you are otm

dead zone totally worth it for walken's perf
The Dead Zone is a must-see.
― Frank Youngenstein (Phil D.), Thursday, 5 April 2012 20:31 (fourteen years ago)
xpost I wouldn't put it on my top 50 horror ballot, but it's a great movie-length Twilight Zone starring Christopher Walken.

Children, The (2008)
It's King, but it's also Cronenberg. Worth it if only to see the progenitor of Charlie Sheen's madness:

I don't know whether to take DJP's Stephen King list as a legit list of nominations, but I would like to for real nominate
Children of the Corn
I love it so much despite its flaws.
There's a godo chance Carrie is going to be my #1.
― carl agatha, Thursday, 5 April 2012 20:34 (fourteen years ago)
Ooh, yeah, Seconds
― Frank Youngenstein (Phil D.), Thursday, 5 April 2012 20:34 (fourteen years ago)
Good chance, too.
then when AP asks if he should see it, we'll all say yes
xps
I went on a terrible date to see Wishmaster and hated it and I am not sure whether it was the date or the movie.
― carl agatha, Thursday, 5 April 2012 20:35 (fourteen years ago)
BWAHAHAHAHA. Yes, okay - Nekromantik is being nominated.
― emil.y, Thursday, 5 April 2012 20:35 (fourteen years ago)
I saw children of the corn on opening night and emerged from the theater very angry
― diamanda ram dass (Edward III), Thursday, 5 April 2012 20:35 (fourteen years ago)
wishmaster is a truly terrible movie, but andrew divoff is awesome as the djinn/villain, and he's even better in the troll 2 quality sequel.

Aside from Walken, The Dead Zone also has Herbert Lom in a lovely, subdued role as Walken's doctor.
― Frank Youngenstein (Phil D.), Thursday, 5 April 2012 20:40 (fourteen years ago)
I actually liked the lawnmower man but in hindsight I may chalk it up to a teenage fixation on jenny wright

Worthwhile only for Jessica Alba in a devil costume and Vivica A. Fox as whatever she was doing.
― Frank Youngenstein (Phil D.), Thursday, 5 April 2012 20:43 (fourteen years ago)
Has anybody seen Cannibal Holocaust? Is it as bad as it sounds or has it aged enough to be bearable?

Which village of the damned is better, 1960 or 1995? I see that '95 is directed by carpenter. I have seen nothing else by wolf rilla.
