My guess is that a certain person's married girl-friends are being tracked down to see how 'massively insulted' they feel, blah de blah etc...

I mean on some level it's grimly funny that the dude considers the fucking neo-fascists to be a lesser evil in than the Euro but at the same time wow.

Or it's professional trolling for hits, not that that's any less vile.

I'm not tempted to add to their total of hits.
On the front of yesterday's edition: "COLDEST MAY IN 100 YEARS." Britain to be blown to bits by blizzards &c. So says Saddo Weather Solutions at NoMates.Com.

Not pro trolling other than from the commissioning editor. My girlfriend was at UCD with him and says he's a right-wing cunt.

How much worse than UKIP is the present day FN? Are we talking about BNP levels of nastiness or what?
― Friends of Mr Caeiro (NickB), Friday, 20 April 2012 15:07 (fourteen years ago)
probably closer to UKIP than BNP? Always on about La France Profonde, a certain amount of blood and soil rhetoric, harking back to Poujadism. I think Marine Le Pen has toned down some of the more overtly nutso stuff her father came up with. A good analogue is perhaps Jorg Haider's brand of populist politics.

surprised to find out that the same Patrick Moore who had his own reactionary nutjob political party in the 1970s is still a bit of a reactionary nutjob. good to see the Mail keeping on top of things.

the writing is so so bad at the daily mail. like, it shouldn't have to be that bad, that inept, that clumsy.
― Bad Company's Drummer's Daughter (stevie), Friday, 4 May 2012 07:27 (fourteen years ago)
http://journalisted.com/aislin-taylor?allarticles=yes
Definitely a theme emerging.
The writing isn't great at the Mail but it's pretty clear that the journalists are being told to throw things together in ten minutes.
The only good thing you can say about the paper is that it does give a start to a lot of young, inexperienced trainee writers who might struggle to get a foot in the door anywhere else. There's going to be a lack of professionalism.
