i've been working, comme toujours. now heading home. for an exciting glass of wine or two. and maybe some (wait for it) cd filing. the cd situation is getting out of hand again.

gypsy mothra (gypsy mothra), Sunday, 29 January 2006 05:09 (eighteen years ago) link

I, too, experienced the majesty of CD filing this evening. I also discussed the possibility of obtaining further shelving from Argos for this purpose.

Colonel Poo (Colonel Poo), Sunday, 29 January 2006 05:10 (eighteen years ago) link

more shelves isn't an option chez nous (je ne sais pas why i'm talking all frenchy tonight), so i'm transferring them from jewel cases into plastic sleeves, magically tripling my storage space.

and making it impossible to ever find anything, of course.

gypsy mothra (gypsy mothra), Sunday, 29 January 2006 05:16 (eighteen years ago) link

ooh, plastic sleeves, good luck with that. ;-)

dancing chicken (Jody Beth Rosen), Sunday, 29 January 2006 05:18 (eighteen years ago) link

Colonel Poo (Colonel Poo), Sunday, 29 January 2006 05:22 (eighteen years ago) link

Jaq (Jaq), Sunday, 29 January 2006 05:24 (eighteen years ago) link

de = dee

Jaq (Jaq), Sunday, 29 January 2006 05:26 (eighteen years ago) link

I just got me a database and I'm very pleased about it. Now I can spod away at home to my life's content. Or at least enough to hopefully pass a MCAD.

Colonel Poo (Colonel Poo), Sunday, 29 January 2006 05:28 (eighteen years ago) link

Put it all in a database and lose it anyway! WooooT!

Jaq (Jaq), Sunday, 29 January 2006 05:38 (eighteen years ago) link

i went to the local symphony's concert entitled, "HAPPY BIRTHDAY MOZART!" (no comma). my sister plays in it and we got comp tickets. anyway, run of the mill lyric soprano singing mozart arias and making me bitter that she's getting paid to sing and i'm not (even though i'm not a lyric). i spent the evening trying not to strangle offensive southerners who, in addition to clapping between movements and giving a standing ovation at the end of every peice, felt compelled to talk and crinkle candy wrappers through the entire performance.

now i am home, folding my father's laundry and dreading getting up at 6 to drive back to rochester.

tehresa (tehresa), Sunday, 29 January 2006 05:56 (eighteen years ago) link

I went to bed after watching Josh Kirby movie thatwas painful to see. I woke up at 1 am, and now I feel a terrible stomach ache. Insomnia reigns.

ah, BUT i put the cds in there between the booklet and the back cover (which i have to trim wid scixxors to get to fit in the booklet, rendering it completely unresellable, which means i'm stuck with these forever...but in 10 years nobody'll be buying used cds anymore anyway, right?), so that the cds never touch plastic. but whatever. i accumulate these things at a rate such that some attrition would almost be a blessing.

and the wine of the night is a rioja. not bad.

gypsy mothra (gypsy mothra), Sunday, 29 January 2006 06:44 (eighteen years ago) link

but in 10 years nobody'll be buying used cds anymore anyway, right?

or:

there'll be a post-iTunes retro revival for cds, prices will go through the roof, and you've just ruined your pension nest-egg

Played football on astroturf in the early evening (grazed knees make me feel ALIVE), then went to see The Research, who were plenty fun.

Mike W (caek), Sunday, 29 January 2006 11:58 (eighteen years ago) link

I spent the last night home, it was the first time in ages I haven't gone anywhere on a Saturday night. I didn't feel like I was missing anything because I had a good reason to stay in: I need to finish this book and write and essay on it before next Wednesday. It was kinda cool to wake up as early as 10AM on a Sunday morning, with the sun shining and me not feeling the slightest bit of a hangover.

Writing a stupid 20-page paper that's due on Friday and I just started yesterday (only on page 6). Drinking lots of Pur tea. Took a break earlier to eat takeaway Thai food and watched Cops.

Relearning to play my drums. It's been almost six years. The muscles in my right leg are killing me. Dulling the pain with some Strongbow.

Tantrum The Cat (Tantrum The Cat), Sunday, 16 April 2006 01:47 (eighteen years ago) link

Woo.

luna (luna.c), Sunday, 16 April 2006 03:56 (eighteen years ago) link

Hey Phil! Yeah that video is amazing. The coordinated dancing is spectacular. So I'll give you a call once this semester from hell is over. Congrats on your manuscript (I guess!). Okay, calling it a night. I was actually watching Major League Soccer earlier tonight, that's how boring my Saturday was.

Aaron W (Aaron W), Sunday, 16 April 2006 04:22 (eighteen years ago) link
