She does the rock guitar player high kick better than just about anyone.

I always feel bad for Marc when he starts talking about music with a musician (Carrie Brownstein, in this case). His references are so superficial and limited, but he at least seems to know a thing or two about guitars.

I loved the episode with Brendon Smalls of Metalocalypse, where they played together and he told that great story about playing on stage for the first time. But yeah when he tries to talk general music, he's a bit too eager, along with the limited references.

Maron was a bit of his depth about her career but he is like that for half the guests. The stuff about post-SK was really interesting.

What I found more crazy-making than the music stuff was Maron talking about Portland and SF like they were these weird puzzle palaces he needed to find the secret keys to. Does he walk around Whole Foods shouting "What are you people all about? What is the organizing principle of this place? Why are you shopping at me like that?"

Chris Elliott was more interesting than anticipated, though.

I was really glad Maron and Elliott talked about Bob so much. It was nice to hear "I grew up playing with the sound-effects machine in my radio-pioneer dad's studio!" instead of the usual "I grew up watching Carson!"

Just catching up with some of these since I've been sick. I really liked the Jeffrey Tambor episode. And Chris Elliott, but it was quite odd to hear him out of his usual "Chris Elliott" character.

during the "Set List" show at the last night of Bridgetown Comedy Fest tonight, James Adomian dressed and performed as Maron and fuckin' killed. the game was to improvise a routine based on a random set-up, so he improvised in character.

i'm a relative newcomer to this podacast but the Tambor is my fave so far (even though I was never that big of a fan of the guy)

The David Cross episode was a good one. Pity he never got to finish his anecdote about Channel 4 controller Jane Hunt, due to Marc not being interested in/is weird about Britishers.

I thought Tanker was only doing open mics for the weekend, but I guess they had a bunch of shows not on the official sched.

Wonderful episode with Kevin Burke - seems like a great guy.

Kevin Hart is such a likable guy. I'm glad he was on WTF, it reminded me to go check out I'ma Grown Little Man which is ALL on youtube actually:

I wish there wasn't some of the homophobic stuff but it's really slight and the rest of it is good.

I'll be really bummed if he does what I think he will and cuts out stand-up for a while to focus on movies and TV shows.

hart intvw was great but maron talking to nonwhite comics always makes me nervous

he did well with hart because he remembered working the same clubs with him. otherwise we'd have had 30 more minutes of "black comedy and white comedy are two different worlds."

He must be 'running out'* of American comics though...

*I mean i'm sure there is a list of a 1000 other names to do but when its comes to both ones he can actually get hold of, ones who actually want to do it and ones he finds interesting enough for an interview.
