QPR deserved to win today. At last, we had both the correct tactics and players managing to carry them out. Taiwo finally looked like a defender; Diakite remembered not to get sent off; Zamora worked immensely hard in a thankless lone-striker role; Taarabt was pretty near his best … Arsenal never really looked comfortable. Shame the other results didn't really go our way, but can't complain.

Keeps it interesting at least. Blackburn were looking safe a fortnight ago. And beating Arsenal is a bonus, third-fourth-fifth is tightening up. I expect Arsenal to kill City off next week, in another game I've passed on the chance of going to.

On 71 points with seven games to go, it's now fairly likely that City are going to miss the 86 point total of that 2009 non-title-challenging Liverpool side.

From watching MOTD I see that Roger Johnson put in a performance of stunning ineptitude. Surpassed only by THE WORST defending I have ever seen for Wigan's 2nd goal against Stoke. A square pass on the halfway line that the receiving player just waited..and waited..and waited for the ball to reach him at no time did the thought appear to enter his brain that he might want to, I dunno, MOVE TOWARDS the fucking ball before a Wigan player intercepted it. Horrendous.

Johnson played 3 good games for Wolves at the start of the season and has been fucking terrible ever since.

Think a mid table team with aspirations (no I'm not describing LFC) could do worse than go for Papiss Demba Cisse. Second top scorer to Mario Gomez in Bundesliga in an unfashionable Freiburg side. Been impressed whenever I've seen him, strong, good in the air, surprisingly nimble and mobile and leads the line well. In fact I might be selling him a bit short with the mid table thing, he may well be better than that.

Yup, eight points so far this year. Wouldn't entirely count out us making it nine today, but this is a huge 45 minutes coming up in terms of spirit, imagination, etc even if not.
