Also, good life advice.
Same here. I hate that Comcast's DVR just can't handle any variations to a schedule.

More seasonal humor! I love that they just started doing this without making it a promotional "thing".
― s.clover, Friday, 30 March 2012 02:20 (fourteen years ago)
I'm going to be a typical internet type and say that I do think the show has dropped off over the last season. I've enjoyed this season enough but I don't find myself laughing out loud. I thought as often happens that maybe I've just gotten used to it, but I've been watching the re-runs on various stations and it's been blowing my mind. Saw the 2 party finale with the 3 weddings tonight and was dying. Anyway, just wanted to put my 2 cents in and a vote for "something's changed".

Some corny bits, but that felt like one of the densest one-liner-filled episodes for a while. Really enjoyed that.

He's doing all right now, starring in some Cartoon Network show.
― Nhex, Sunday, 1 April 2012 06:56 (fourteen years ago)
imho one of the most enjoyable parts of the early seasons of this show was the way they developed characters & backstories with pretty amazing jokes, and actually committed to them for future episodes (q.v. sue was only given her last name as a one-off joke in the funcooker episode, but she's kept her name & ridiculous accent since then). but now that most of their characters have been fully fleshed out the jokes have become a bit repetitive. the fact that Jenna attended the tampa royal academy of dramatic tricks is funny the first couple times you hear it but now it just feels like a retread. i don't think the writing has really fallen off, it's just that there's not much new to discover about the characters after so many seasons so it feels a little stale. hazel seems like an attempt to bring that early-season sense of discovery back, but idk how successful it is.
this past episode kinda seems to acknowledge that: it's been done before, they're just rehashing old episodes now, like they've exhausted the show's premise & characters.
