Adebayor looking like Thierry Henry on NY Red Bulls. He's tracking back to get the ball because he's getting absolutely no service from his midfield. Of course, that same midfield isn't running forward to fill the space he vacated so it doesn't achieve anything.

but adebayor's job is to keep the cb's nominally occupied and to thereby earn the midfield space to work in, at lease that's how it worked when we were doing well early on in the season. his galloping off towards the wings to take a touch or two before losing it doesn't achieve anything and twists everyone else out of shape (assuming they're in shape to begin with tbh)

midfield needs space to work in, has done all year. vdv on right hurts, adebayor hurts, but teams have just sat in front of us since maybe xmas and it's not something we've really gotten to grips with- if they don't move to close us down, we don't tend to do anything but passit across in front of them, it's frustrating.
