it's freezing here

congratulations (n/a), Wednesday, 21 March 2012 14:44 (fourteen years ago)

It's not over 80 degrees here, so I am happier right now than I was all yesterday afternoon.

In other things that are making me happy: a lawyer just came into this office and his cell phone rang and his ring tone is "Smooth Criminal." LOL.

carl agatha, Wednesday, 21 March 2012 14:57 (fourteen years ago)

I was starting to feel in the minority with the nice weather, I really love the 70s, but no thanks to 80+ in March. There'll be plenty of time for that this summer.

stan this sick bunt (jon /via/ chi 2.0), Wednesday, 21 March 2012 15:01 (fourteen years ago)

Yeah, I said last night that I was looking forward to it getting cooler this weekend.

Cuba Pudding, Jr. (jaymc), Wednesday, 21 March 2012 15:18 (fourteen years ago)

Y'all if you ever feel lonely because you don't like warm weather, you can come hang out at the Overheated, Sweaty Kids table with Jesse and Dan and me. There's room for everyone. Just don't touch us; we're hot.

I have been watching the extended forecast like a hawk waiting to see when this misery will end. Sunny and highs in the 50s is pretty much my favorite weather, and that should be happening right now!

carl agatha, Wednesday, 21 March 2012 15:25 (fourteen years ago)

you can save a webpage as a PDF (in os x) by going to print and selecting "print to PDF" as the destination. with windows you have to install something like this freeware to get that functionality. PDFs are imo the best way to archive a webpage if you just want the appearance and not the source code

i've been enjoying the heat, but i grew up in texas

1staethyr, Wednesday, 21 March 2012 16:55 (fourteen years ago)

i just had to go downstairs and stand outside for a few minutes because it's so cold in here. think i'll make some tea.

congratulations (n/a), Wednesday, 21 March 2012 16:56 (fourteen years ago)

Overheated, Sweaty Kid Stable

I lived in NC for 11 years in high school and beyond, but I dislike the heat more every summer.

free societies must let drunken gay Texans have sex (Je55e), Wednesday, 21 March 2012 17:43 (fourteen years ago)

I actually liked the heat for a while when I lived in NC, but not after a while.

carl, were we so anti-heat when we lived there? I don't remember this really starting until we moved to Chicago.

free societies must let drunken gay Texans have sex (Je55e), Wednesday, 21 March 2012 17:44 (fourteen years ago)

This is my time to shine.

Jeff, Wednesday, 21 March 2012 17:46 (fourteen years ago)

And I remember YOU absolutely hating the heat and there is a post of yours somewhere from December, 2004 where you say that you wish it were colder!

free societies must let drunken gay Texans have sex (Je55e), Wednesday, 21 March 2012 17:51 (fourteen years ago)

that wasn't an accusation, sorry, I just was so confused when you jumped the heat-hating ship and went to the hot side

free societies must let drunken gay Texans have sex (Je55e), Wednesday, 21 March 2012 17:51 (fourteen years ago)

It was a subtle change. I don't like oppressively hot, but the last 2 days have been glorious. I don't like it hot at night.

Jeff, Wednesday, 21 March 2012 17:53 (fourteen years ago)

This is not hot weather, folks.

Laura Lucy Lynn (La Lechera), Wednesday, 21 March 2012 17:56 (fourteen years ago)

This is warm and comfortable weather.

Laura Lucy Lynn (La Lechera), Wednesday, 21 March 2012 17:57 (fourteen years ago)

YMMV

free societies must let drunken gay Texans have sex (Je55e), Wednesday, 21 March 2012 18:04 (fourteen years ago)

This is my time to shine.

Light reflecting off the sweat, amirite?

dan m, Wednesday, 21 March 2012 18:10 (fourteen years ago)

And I actually don't think this is too bad at all, it just gives me the willies that it's happening in March.

dan m, Wednesday, 21 March 2012 18:10 (fourteen years ago)

Jesse, I definitely did not like the heat of NC (I remember one notable birthday of mine when it was in the 80s and I was just super depressed about it) but everything was airconditioned thoroughly and we all drove cars so it didn't seem as bad.

I'd whine less of we had the window unit running in the bedroom, but it's locked in a shed and it's supposed to cool off this weekend so, hot sweaty sleep it is.

carl agatha, Wednesday, 21 March 2012 18:14 (fourteen years ago)

thank god that xp allowed me to not make a joke about willies

Laura Lucy Lynn (La Lechera), Wednesday, 21 March 2012 18:14 (fourteen years ago)

Ha - I thought "beware the willies of march," but it's not that great a joke.

but everything was airconditioned thoroughly and we all drove cars so it didn't seem as bad.

That is important. That's why I say that living in New Orleans from May-November was easier for me than spending a summer here. Mostly because we walk so much here.

free societies must let drunken gay Texans have sex (Je55e), Wednesday, 21 March 2012 18:19 (fourteen years ago)

willies of March combined with jizz trees... I'm stopping right there

dan m, Wednesday, 21 March 2012 18:20 (fourteen years ago)

BTW guys -- this is a dogwood (I don't think this is the same tree you guys claim smells like crotch)

Laura Lucy Lynn (La Lechera), Wednesday, 21 March 2012 18:24 (fourteen years ago)

Are the crotch trees also the jizz trees? I always wanted to smell the jizz trees but now I never will. :(

free societies must let drunken gay Texans have sex (Je55e), Wednesday, 21 March 2012 18:27 (fourteen years ago)

I have never identified the smell of a plant as either of those things, so I have no idea.

Laura Lucy Lynn (La Lechera), Wednesday, 21 March 2012 18:28 (fourteen years ago)

God, know what is the best smell?! BASIL.

Laura Lucy Lynn (La Lechera), Wednesday, 21 March 2012 18:28 (fourteen years ago)

There are many dogwood trees from the train station to my house. I don't know if these smell like crotch, but I strongly dislike the way they smell.

carl agatha, Wednesday, 21 March 2012 18:47 (fourteen years ago)

One of my favorite commutes ever was a 15 min walk past tons and tons of jasmine and gardenia plants. It was dreamy.

Laura Lucy Lynn (La Lechera), Wednesday, 21 March 2012 18:49 (fourteen years ago)

That sounds nice. One of the places we lived when I was growing up had a yard full of lily of the valley. And honey suckle is always going to smell like my elementary school's playground in summer (we would walk there to hang out when school was out).

carl agatha, Wednesday, 21 March 2012 18:54 (fourteen years ago)

I would just like to say that the dogwood trees down south are so freaking beautiful right now. In a week they'll be invisible again.

any major prude will tell you (WmC), Wednesday, 21 March 2012 19:09 (fourteen years ago)

I took a side street home from the bus stop yesterday and the entire street and a lot of the cross streets were lined with dogwoods, forsythia bushes, and some beautiful tree w/ flowers that look like magnolia but aren't, I think. What an amazing time of year.

free societies must let drunken gay Texans have sex (Je55e), Wednesday, 21 March 2012 19:12 (fourteen years ago)

Spring is the best.

Laura Lucy Lynn (La Lechera), Wednesday, 21 March 2012 19:15 (fourteen years ago)

I'm glad I don't have any problems with spring pollen (knock dogwood).

any major prude will tell you (WmC), Wednesday, 21 March 2012 19:16 (fourteen years ago)

if you don't smell the jizz on the breeze....

Cummer breeze/Makes me feel fine

cue "White Rabbit" (kenan), Wednesday, 21 March 2012 19:16 (fourteen years ago)

I demand a tree that smells like a pretty girl after you've been having sex for an hour and then ordered pizza and are sitting naked on the bed together eating it.

cue "White Rabbit" (kenan), Wednesday, 21 March 2012 19:18 (fourteen years ago)

THAT'S spring, yo.

cue "White Rabbit" (kenan), Wednesday, 21 March 2012 19:19 (fourteen years ago)

What if the girl is kinda homely but super nice?

Laura Lucy Lynn (La Lechera), Wednesday, 21 March 2012 19:20 (fourteen years ago)

What if you are eating bowls of dry Crispix?

Laura Lucy Lynn (La Lechera), Wednesday, 21 March 2012 19:21 (fourteen years ago)

xp Define "nice".

cue "White Rabbit" (kenan), Wednesday, 21 March 2012 19:21 (fourteen years ago)

Check out these trees

Laura Lucy Lynn (La Lechera), Wednesday, 21 March 2012 19:22 (fourteen years ago)

If "nice" = "a total freak in bed," she's guaranteed by Marxist science to smell even better.

any major prude will tell you (WmC), Wednesday, 21 March 2012 19:23 (fourteen years ago)

I flinch, I shy, when the lass with the delicate air goes by
I smile, I grin, when the gal with a touch of sin walks in.
I hope, and I pray, for a Hester to win just one more "A"
The sadder-but-wiser girl's the girl for me.

cue "White Rabbit" (kenan), Wednesday, 21 March 2012 19:23 (fourteen years ago)

I wasn't trying to encourage you.

Laura Lucy Lynn (La Lechera), Wednesday, 21 March 2012 19:24 (fourteen years ago)

I always liked those biggest-sweet-potato-in-the-world trees.

any major prude will tell you (WmC), Wednesday, 21 March 2012 19:24 (fourteen years ago)

I wasn't trying to encourage you.

That's what she said. And I said, "But it's spring!"

cue "White Rabbit" (kenan), Wednesday, 21 March 2012 19:27 (fourteen years ago)
