it's freezing here

It's not over 80 degrees here, so I am happier right now than I was all yesterday afternoon.

In other things that are making me happy: a lawyer just came into this office and his cell phone rang and his ring tone is "Smooth Criminal." LOL.

I was starting to feel in the minority with the nice weather, I really love the 70s, but no thanks to 80+ in March. There'll be plenty of time for that this summer.

Yeah, I said last night that I was looking forward to it getting cooler this weekend.

Y'all if you ever feel lonely because you don't like warm weather, you can come hang out at the Overheated, Sweaty Kids table with Jesse and Dan and me. There's room for everyone. Just don't touch us; we're hot.

I have been watching the extended forecast like a hawk waiting to see when this misery will end. Sunny and highs in the 50s is pretty much my favorite weather, and that should be happening right now!

you can save a webpage as a PDF (in os x) by going to print and selecting "print to PDF" as the destination. with windows you have to install something like this freeware to get that functionality. PDFs are imo the best way to archive a webpage if you just want the appearance and not the source code

i've been enjoying the heat, but i grew up in texas

i just had to go downstairs and stand outside for a few minutes because it's so cold in here. think i'll make some tea.

Overheated, Sweaty Kid Stable

I lived in NC for 11 years in high school and beyond, but I dislike the heat more every summer.

I actually liked the heat for a while when I lived in NC, but not after a while.

carl, were we so anti-heat when we lived there? I don't remember this really starting until we moved to Chicago.

This is my time to shine.

And I remember YOU absolutely hating the heat and there is a post of yours somewhere from December, 2004 where you say that you wish it were colder!

It was a subtle change. I don't like oppressively hot, but the last 2 days have been glorious. I don't like it hot at night.

This is not hot weather, folks.

This is warm and comfortable weather.

Jesse, I definitely did not like the heat of NC (I remember one notable birthday of mine when it was in the 80s and I was just super depressed about it) but everything was airconditioned thoroughly and we all drove cars so it didn't seem as bad.

I'd whine less of we had the window unit running in the bedroom, but it's locked in a shed and it's supposed to cool off this weekend so, hot sweaty sleep it is.

That is important. That's why I say that living in New Orleans from May-November was easier for me than spending a summer here. Mostly because we walk so much here.

Are the crotch trees also the jizz trees? I always wanted to smell the jizz trees but now I never will. :(

I have never identified the smell of a plant as either of those things, so I have no idea.

There are many dogwood trees from the train station to my house. I don't know if these smell like crotch, but I strongly dislike the way they smell.

One of my favorite commutes ever was a 15 min walk past tons and tons of jasmine and gardenia plants. It was dreamy.

That sounds nice. One of the places we lived when I was growing up had a yard full of lily of the valley. And honey suckle is always going to smell like my elementary school's playground in summer (we would walk there to hang out when school was out).

I would just like to say that the dogwood trees down south are so freaking beautiful right now. In a week they'll be invisible again.

I took a side street home from the bus stop yesterday and the entire street and a lot of the cross streets were lined with dogwoods, forsythia bushes, and some beautiful tree w/ flowers that look like magnolia but aren't, I think. What an amazing time of year.

Spring is the best.

I'm glad I don't have any problems with spring pollen (knock dogwood).
