That was awesome and way more entertaining than the show has been.

That comedy bit needed more zombies.

-this is a pretty humorless show so of course the one gag they do in the finale is "asians drive like this" ;_;

-they run out of gas despite the fact that there were thousands of cars on the highway they could've siphoned

You know, I always wondered how long gas would stay usable for (in a car or gas can) after an apocalypse - 30 days to several months, apparently.

I remain impressed by the supply of beauty and grooming products they maintain, and how Lori always remembers to put her earrings in during the zombie apocalypse.

just read about what characters they're bringing in for the next season and how it correlates with the comics and it sounds about a million times more interesting than anything else that they've attempted.

Been watching this as it comes on C5 in the UK, and the season 2 finale was last night. Thought it was awesome, and really intrigued by Michonne and the prison. Haven't read any of the comics yet, but think I might have to delve... Psyched by production shots of season 3.

I'm watching the Season 2 finale on Irish telly tonight. Jesus, Rick really likes to get chatty when it's dark and he's standing in an exposed place, doesn't he?

season 3 premiere was peak form for this show imo - perhaps that's not saying a whole lot, considering how tedious and lame most of last season was, but it def shows renewed potential.

In the comic he doesn't live long after the amputation, for what it's worth. But then he also got together with Andrea, so it's not an infallible guide.

I'm hoping they transplant his head to T-Dawg's shoulder like that movie, The Thing With Two Heads. Although, with regards to acting, T-Dawg is no Rosey Grier.

Season 2 now on Netflix. Have watched 2 1/2 eps, am about to stop because it seems like there's, um, lots of talking and rehashing and emoting and staring off into the middle distance, and very little walking dead, and what walking dead business there is doesn't seem to add anything to what's come before (OK, there's a herd, they walk towards us, we chop their heads in one by one, etc.) Should I persist, and how long? I liked season 1.

Herschel got with Andrea in the comic? I thought that was the old dude with the RV.

back half of season 2's a lot better imo. season 3 seems good so far, especially since it looks like they're press fast foward on a bunch of these storylines

i have to admit, though, i'm a little disappointed they immediately undercut Michonne's badass psycho loner into Andrea's nursemaid, but oh well lol AMC :( maybe we'll get some flashbacking on that one

Yeah eephus season 2 is good the very beginning and 2 or 3 from the end. Season 3 though seems very promising though. They seemed to have saved up for gore special effects and makeup during all of the nothingness that happened in season 2.

i just finished season two the other day on netflix. love it all. probably shouldn't read the new stuff on here. though maybe i'll actually keep up with it via sidereel or something. don't know if i can wait a year or whatever.

i just started watching jericho too on netflix. haven't seen them all. i could watch the end of the world forever.

walking dead is maddening of course and here's hoping that they can finally learn to bring a minimum of three people on their little trips out and about. and just the cause and effect of all their dumb decisions. every trip abroad ends up in someone dead pretty much. but i do love both seasons.

I got the issue everyone had with season 2 but wasn't tortured by it. Season 3 indeed only has 2 episodes so far but it looks like there is going to be a lot more happening episode to episode this time.

i'll have to read this thread. already noticed that some people just hate it.

it's not so much hate as just finding him awful. i blame the script tho, i think. that more hirsute prisoner whom they spared was like he was auditioning to steal king hersch's stoic simpleton crown, "i knew these men, they were good men."

If you break down individual parts of S2 and S3, it's pretty terrible - bad acting, ponderous dialogue, some WTF choices, etc. - but it's somewhat compelling in the big picture. Enough to keep watching.
S1 was terrible, IMO, so I didn't give S2 a chance until it came on Netflix.

I love this show, regardless of herschel, bad acting or whatever else you guys find at fault. It's a zombie drama!!! Season 3 is off to a great start too. I love/despise the new sheriff, making the tough choices, wonder when he'll fall or get vetoed out? The son is shaping up into a tough little zombie killer, after being a pain in the ass in season 2.

I'd still like a show like this that didn't have a core group of characters - it would just follow different groups trying to make their way in the New Zombie Overlord world on the same timeline.

Totally have always loved this idea. Caring about the characters ups the drama a ton but not caring quite as much means everyone can die- then on to the next group. Would be a fantastic concept.

As annoying as Lori is, I don't totally see the motivation behind Rick hating on her as hard as he is?

Yeah finding out you're wife was screwing your buddy while zombie overtook the world is one thing, but carrying his baby. ALso did she get mad at him for killing Shane after she kind of egged it on? Or am I remembering wrong?

xpost Oh yeah good point! I've thought that too. So interesting to see what zombies are like under the sun melting on old roads in the desert or freezing to ice and thawing during their aimless shuffling in the snow somewhere

This show has had so much potential from ep one, yet squandered it at nearly every turn, somehow mistaking enthusiasm for gory zombie action for interest in the internal moral battles of these wet blankets. So far season 3 (which I have not seen anything of) is getting good notices, but I would be shocked if the show doesn't find a way to screw up this promise and potential, too.
