now that echofon is a huge hunk of shit i literally can't find a small, unobtrusive twitter client for windows. ?? where should i be looking? (NB i don't use lists....... yet)

echofon was really perfect for awhile but then they lost their minds and saddled it with some weird OAuth login process that is buggy as fuck, and made the whole thing silver and bulbous and messed up where it was positioned on the screen

weren't third party clients forced to use oauth by twitter at some point? i think i actually was looking at something talking about that recently . . . perhaps on daring fireball

i installed Blu on my XP machine and the entire application looked like it had been put through a "distressed" filter in photoshop, and wriggled when i moved it

i don't really "get" thisismyjam yet - i already put tons of music recommendations on twitter and facebook and tumblr - but a friend of mine is behind it so i'm sticking with it and seeing where it goes. plus it looks sleek, always a plus

basically i just see the first person tweet and can't possibly imagine the tweeter referring to a song they like in that way. a part of this is feeling that "jam" should refer to a particular type of song. "the hanging garden"? "wonky"? really?

I don't know, I have mixed feelings. On the con side, I dislike the casualness of the tone - it's on the verge of innocentese. On the other hand, though, it's not like I've never called something a jam or said I was jamming something or whatever - it's a concept I understand as being the same as "I'm digging this song, daddio", and I'm always surprised when a friend doesn't seem to get it at all. Maybe I should start imdiggingthissongdaddio.com for all the old hepcats who don't like jamming?

Anyway, the site itself is kind of cool, it's certainly not anything innovative or life-changing, it's just a good way of putting up music without the rush you can sometimes fall into when you're flinging youtubes up on facebook willy-nilly.
