"You might be better off saying don't come. But a World Cup without England, Germany, the Dutch, Danes and Scandinavians. It's unthinkable."

sounds like the best world cup ever imo

a hoy hoy, Thursday, 15 March 2012 14:03 (fourteen years ago)

No reports of Spurs or Man City fans getting up to similar afaik - it appears to be a lagging indicator of big club status.

Ismael Klata, Thursday, 15 March 2012 14:07 (fourteen years ago)

Wenger will wear a long puffa coat with the fan's photo on it.

twitter lolz from a friend of mine:

Just named my truck Harry Redknapp. I kick a soccer ball against it at lunch, it's bright red, and it's got a bottle of gin in it right now.

dan m, Thursday, 15 March 2012 18:54 (fourteen years ago)

Surprised at this
The Reds' 3-0 victory over Everton was the first time in more than a year that Liverpool had won a Premier League game in which Gerrard started. The game in question was Liverpool's 3-1 win against Manchester United at Anfield on 6 March 2011 when Dirk Kuyt scored a hat-trick.

South Korea have allowed the Arsenal striker, Park Chu-young, to delay his compulsory military service for 10 years.
He serves when he wants.

Kinda silly for 'arry to try shopping for Hazard now before sewing up third place.

James Mitchell, Saturday, 17 March 2012 09:37 (fourteen years ago)

Watching Fulham-Swansea ... what *is* Moussa Dembele exactly? He never seems to score or assist but I gather ppl rate him, and here he's playing deeper than most of the midfield.

boxall, Saturday, 17 March 2012 16:17 (fourteen years ago)

I've felt that way watching him. He is like current Torres without the expectation imo. "Oh he did well running the channels and linking play and stuff. Didn't score though. Oh well, they've got the Pog for that." With Torres its not "they've got the Pog for that" it is "they spent how much and he doesn't score?"

a hoy hoy, Saturday, 17 March 2012 16:27 (fourteen years ago)

was called away from my stream but Swansea are up by two now, a second goal for Sigurdsson, very smart fantasy buy pandemic made.

boxall, Saturday, 17 March 2012 16:31 (fourteen years ago)

0-3 now, entirely down to Senderos' ineptitude, that was a worse sequence than I've seen even Djourou have in some time.

boxall, Saturday, 17 March 2012 16:38 (fourteen years ago)

Dembele has been converted into a midfielder no?

Number None, Saturday, 17 March 2012 17:57 (fourteen years ago)

it's on the FA Cup thread, Ned

Ismael Klata, Saturday, 17 March 2012 18:44 (fourteen years ago)

Dembele has been converted into a midfielder no?

This is what they keep saying here recently, too (he played for AZ before going to Fulham). He was a #10 or striker for AZ, Jol seems to try and convert him to a regular midfielder. I don't watch enough Fulham to see how that works out, but this week I did hear rumors that several other teams in the league are after him?

HO WBEAUTIFUL IS THE GENTLYFALLINGBLOOD? (Le Bateau Ivre), Saturday, 17 March 2012 18:49 (fourteen years ago)

Whenever I've seen Fulham this season he has been too high up the field to be called a midfielder. But then he'd play like one out of position. Either way, omg Muamba, cant think about anything else in football right now.

a hoy hoy, Saturday, 17 March 2012 18:51 (fourteen years ago)

xxpost -- thanks, was wondering why nothing here.

(not Dembele, but Muamba)

HO WBEAUTIFUL IS THE GENTLYFALLINGBLOOD? (Le Bateau Ivre), Saturday, 17 March 2012 19:12 (fourteen years ago)

Interesting stat: this was Swansea's 12th clean sheets this season. Only ManU and ManC have more, 13.

Valencia's just a proper old fashioned winger innee? Real opportunity to eat into the goal difference here

Number None, Sunday, 18 March 2012 14:25 (fourteen years ago)

wish lennon studied him

deconstructive witticism (darraghmac), Sunday, 18 March 2012 14:27 (fourteen years ago)

Yeah (re: goal difference) - Ferguson usually gets the team to ease off in these situations and the game peters out, I'd rather they really went for it and banged in six or seven (sorry NV). Last time I thought that, City almost dragged it back to 3-3, but something tells me Wolves aren't going to do that.

Let's Talk About Socks (Nasty, Brutish & Short), Sunday, 18 March 2012 14:29 (fourteen years ago)

complacency imo

Ismael Klata, Sunday, 18 March 2012 14:30 (fourteen years ago)

I bet you a fiver Wolves don't win this.

Let's Talk About Socks (Nasty, Brutish & Short), Sunday, 18 March 2012 14:31 (fourteen years ago)

There really is no reason whatsoever to ease off. I mean it's not as if we've got anything else to play for. Hope Pogba gets a decent run out though

Number None, Sunday, 18 March 2012 14:32 (fourteen years ago)

What's it like, being able to say this sort of stuff?
