Martin Keown pronouncing Sagna to rhyme with Wagner on the radio. I mean, come on.

4 more this season, ronaldo 6 more this season...

a hoy hoy, Monday, 12 March 2012 20:23 (fourteen years ago)

Australian midfielder. He played for AZ for four years, his contract ran out and he didn't want to renew it. He's the strong silent type of midfielder, very consistent though.

xp

Take away the five against Leverkusen and Messi doesn't look so hot

Ismael Klata, Monday, 12 March 2012 20:26 (fourteen years ago)

0.4 coefficient for diddy leagueness puts messi at 22 in 50, ronaldo at 39 in 89

nortei nortey (cozen), Monday, 12 March 2012 20:27 (fourteen years ago)

not removing RvP from my FF captaincy till he breaks his leg

nortei nortey (cozen), Monday, 12 March 2012 20:29 (fourteen years ago)

but but seventh in La Liga Bilbao gave the champions of England a schooling last week. How does that effect the coefficient?

Number None, Monday, 12 March 2012 20:29 (fourteen years ago)

Zlatan's 19 in 21 deserves a mention here for being in a proper league

Ismael Klata, Monday, 12 March 2012 20:31 (fourteen years ago)

nortei nortey (cozen), Monday, 12 March 2012 20:32 (fourteen years ago)

Rooney has 20 in 24 (which includes a stint in midfield). Obviously some kind of statistical anomaly though

Number None, Monday, 12 March 2012 20:36 (fourteen years ago)

also benefits from a positive cromagnon modifier on that fig

nortei nortey (cozen), Monday, 12 March 2012 20:36 (fourteen years ago)

toandos, Monday, 12 March 2012 20:41 (fourteen years ago)

Bas Dost has 22 in 18. Not quite up there with your Eredivisie legends of yore but quite impressive

Number None, Monday, 12 March 2012 20:41 (fourteen years ago)

quite

Number None, Monday, 12 March 2012 20:42 (fourteen years ago)

HO WBEAUTIFUL IS THE GENTLYFALLINGBLOOD? (Le Bateau Ivre), Monday, 12 March 2012 20:44 (fourteen years ago)

He's no Alves but he's pretty good :)

HO WBEAUTIFUL IS THE GENTLYFALLINGBLOOD? (Le Bateau Ivre), Monday, 12 March 2012 20:45 (fourteen years ago)

What kind of name is Bas Dost?! I'd assumed he'd have a first name too, but no. Could be a Hollywood action lead imo.

Ismael Klata, Monday, 12 March 2012 20:45 (fourteen years ago)

is he in the Dutch squad?

Number None, Monday, 12 March 2012 20:46 (fourteen years ago)

First name is Bas tbh

HO WBEAUTIFUL IS THE GENTLYFALLINGBLOOD? (Le Bateau Ivre), Monday, 12 March 2012 20:46 (fourteen years ago)

No. Not yet. Dost can't compete with RVP and Huntelaar.

HO WBEAUTIFUL IS THE GENTLYFALLINGBLOOD? (Le Bateau Ivre), Monday, 12 March 2012 20:46 (fourteen years ago)

An ILF hero is born.

Ismael Klata, Monday, 12 March 2012 20:55 (fourteen years ago)

awesome

Number None, Monday, 12 March 2012 20:56 (fourteen years ago)

What's that 'Hearrenfeen' banner behind the goal? Is Dutch football so argumentative that you can't even agree a standard spelling?

dosting his bas

mizzell, Monday, 12 March 2012 21:00 (fourteen years ago)

Keen eye, IK! Hearrenfean is the Frisian spelling of Heerenveen. In the province of Friesland (where I am), they spell it Hearrenfean. Every home game of Heerenveen starts with the Frisian anthem too, the only Dutch club to have a 'national' anthem at the start of every game.

Marco van Basten, Heerenveen's manager as of next season, is already studying the lyrics to that anthem, I am sure.

HO WBEAUTIFUL IS THE GENTLYFALLINGBLOOD? (Le Bateau Ivre), Monday, 12 March 2012 21:00 (fourteen years ago)

lol mizell

HO WBEAUTIFUL IS THE GENTLYFALLINGBLOOD? (Le Bateau Ivre), Monday, 12 March 2012 21:01 (fourteen years ago)

holy smokes this is confusing

Fryslân distinguishes itself from the other eleven provinces by having its own language, West Frisian, which is also spoken in a small adjacent part of the province of Groningen, to the east. Closely related languages, East Frisian ("Seeltersk", which is different from "East Frisian (Ostfriesisch)", a collection of Low German dialects of East Frisia) and North Frisian, are spoken in the Saterland and in North Friesland areas in Germany, respectively.

mizzell, Monday, 12 March 2012 21:02 (fourteen years ago)

Get one education on minority languages, or grow up in those regions, and it's not that complicated tbh

HO WBEAUTIFUL IS THE GENTLYFALLINGBLOOD? (Le Bateau Ivre), Monday, 12 March 2012 21:04 (fourteen years ago)

my prediction that Obertan would become a cult hero at Newcastle is looking highly optimistic now

Number None, Monday, 12 March 2012 21:05 (fourteen years ago)

Ajax went to hell and back trying to sign Dost last summer, but Heerenveen stood their ground and told Ajax to gtfo btw. It's common knowledge that Ajax kept close relations with Dost and will sign him this summer btw.

HO WBEAUTIFUL IS THE GENTLYFALLINGBLOOD? (Le Bateau Ivre), Monday, 12 March 2012 21:06 (fourteen years ago)

Is Perch as bad as everyone always says he is?

Paul in Newcastle (Australia) on text: "As an Aussie Villa fan, I am super excited by signing of Holman. He copped some flak in the lead up to the World Cup but he ended up being a standout player. Aussie Aussie Aussie, Villa Villa Villa!"

Paul in Newcastle otm tbh, I think Holman is a very decent signing for Villa.
