We just adopted two cats and named them GUS and MARIE

quincie, Wednesday, 7 March 2012 20:13 (fourteen years ago)

Well spouse insisted on Maria, but close enough.

quincie, Wednesday, 7 March 2012 20:14 (fourteen years ago)

So Press Play has edited together the teaser/prologues for each episode of the first two seasons and put them together, and they got a critic who has never seen the show to write about them.

Trying To Do A ‘Gotcha’ Moment (Deric W. Haircare), Saturday, 10 March 2012 14:40 (fourteen years ago)

apparently it will be split, 8 episodes in the summer, 8 in winter 2013.

TracerHandVEVO (Tracer Hand), Saturday, 10 March 2012 19:40 (fourteen years ago)

uncool

lag∞n, Saturday, 10 March 2012 19:42 (fourteen years ago)

i'm cool with it. Nice opportunity for a big old cliffhanger in the middle

Number None, Saturday, 10 March 2012 19:43 (fourteen years ago)

johnny crunch, Saturday, 10 March 2012 19:53 (fourteen years ago)

johnny crunch, Saturday, 10 March 2012 22:42 (fourteen years ago)

Just started this. SO GOOD! AH!

wolf kabob (ENBB), Tuesday, 13 March 2012 02:07 (fourteen years ago)

ENBB I do hope you don't have anything important on your calendar for the next...month.

Bo Jackson Overdrive, Tuesday, 13 March 2012 02:08 (fourteen years ago)

(cuz "oh just one more episode" turns into 3-4 and then suddenly the weekend is over, with this show...lol)

Bo Jackson Overdrive, Tuesday, 13 March 2012 02:08 (fourteen years ago)

Ha! Seriously.

Only like 4 eps into season 1 so not gonna read the thread yet. Just needed to register my excitement thus far.

wolf kabob (ENBB), Tuesday, 13 March 2012 02:09 (fourteen years ago)

oh dang, just wait...lol. and yeah good idea not reading this thread.

Bo Jackson Overdrive, Tuesday, 13 March 2012 02:11 (fourteen years ago)

It's weird...when I think back to my reaction to the series during season 1, I thought it was solidly entertaining and slightly OTT in a good way, but I couldn't have imagined at the time that I'd ever call it the best show on TV. But it pretty much is now.

Alan Hale's Corn Casserole Recipe (Family Circle, June 1976) (Deric W. Haircare), Tuesday, 13 March 2012 03:43 (fourteen years ago)

ENBB, you have seen NOTHING.

Inevitable stupid samba mix (chap), Tuesday, 13 March 2012 04:53 (fourteen years ago)

Deric OTM

I think my first inkling came during that scene with Krazy 8 tied up downstairs in the basement, just this long, slow battle of wills with no relief in sight

i still felt this way in like season 4. it was those last few episodes that did it for me and they had me trippin' for like a week.

Yeah, I know. Got that impression.

wolf kabob (ENBB), Tuesday, 13 March 2012 11:26 (fourteen years ago)

my favorite episode is the one where the nuclear bomb explodes in New Mexico and Walt and Walter Junior get fused together and become MegaWalt

Bo Jackson Overdrive, Tuesday, 13 March 2012 11:29 (fourteen years ago)

the bit with abe lincoln in that episode was pretty dumb imo.

I'm going to allow this! (LocalGarda), Tuesday, 13 March 2012 11:31 (fourteen years ago)

I guess I understand that, as Lincoln's presence was clearly being used as a clumsy parallel of Walt in the midst of his attempt to unite the gangs of north and south Albuquerque, but it really paid off when you learned that Walt was at some point going to go back in time and assume the identity of Ulysses S. Grant.

Alan Hale's Corn Casserole Recipe (Family Circle, June 1976) (Deric W. Haircare), Tuesday, 13 March 2012 13:50 (fourteen years ago)

i thought the Lincoln thing was a sort of reference to the x-files? you know, because of the aliens.

Porto for Pyros (The Cursed Return of the Dastardly Thermo Thinwall), Tuesday, 13 March 2012 13:54 (fourteen years ago)

It was sort of cool the whole Hank appearing as Benedict Arnold in Jesse's future-predicting dream, before Walt when back though. Still think we haven't seen the last of what they were getting at there.

I'm going to allow this! (LocalGarda), Tuesday, 13 March 2012 14:20 (fourteen years ago)

when marie sprouted dragonfly wings and ate hank's brain, totally did not see that coming

diamanda ram dass (Edward III), Tuesday, 13 March 2012 14:26 (fourteen years ago)

And then the whole thing happening in Walt Jr.'s snow globe?

Eric H., Tuesday, 13 March 2012 14:29 (fourteen years ago)

o_O

wolf kabob (ENBB), Tuesday, 13 March 2012 14:48 (fourteen years ago)

I know it looks weird when you see it all written out like that, but all of these plot threads work surprisingly well in context. Once you get to the point in season 2 when Walt enters the VR universe and creates his current vegetable-based body, all of these seemingly disparate elements start effortlessly gliding into place.

Alan Hale's Corn Casserole Recipe (Family Circle, June 1976) (Deric W. Haircare), Tuesday, 13 March 2012 15:32 (fourteen years ago)

I will say, though, that the episode done entirely in semaphore was maddening.

Classic bottle episode. Gilligan said it was to save money on dialogue sound recording. If so it's brilliant.

TracerHandVEVO (Tracer Hand), Tuesday, 13 March 2012 15:41 (fourteen years ago)

tbf, Cranston and Gunn were masterful during the sex scene. It was like colorguard porn.

when Skylar revealed she was actually Walter's sister it was kinda gross tho

Bo Jackson Overdrive, Wednesday, 14 March 2012 00:34 (fourteen years ago)

Though I felt it jumped the shark when Walt jnr started writing a TV script about his family which was basically over-signalling 'and that is what you have just watched'. You can get too pomo and navel-gazey.

windborne grey frogs (dowd), Wednesday, 14 March 2012 01:28 (fourteen years ago)

I love how when Hank is a badass he's a science badass. At least, so far . . .

wolf kabob (ENBB), Wednesday, 14 March 2012 01:42 (fourteen years ago)

Ha, I mean Walt

wolf kabob (ENBB), Wednesday, 14 March 2012 01:44 (fourteen years ago)

Walt pretty much just keeps on being a science badass.

It occurs to me that there actually are some plot points which look almost as insane on paper as those we've delineated in recent posts. Like how Walt basically caused that ***** to ***** at the end of season 2?

Alan Hale's Corn Casserole Recipe (Family Circle, June 1976) (Deric W. Haircare), Wednesday, 14 March 2012 02:09 (fourteen years ago)

yeah, and how he **** himself afterwards was really gross

Bo Jackson Overdrive, Wednesday, 14 March 2012 02:23 (fourteen years ago)

BJO you're were so right. Just finished an ep and I am trying really really hard not to start another. Ahh!

wolf kabob (ENBB), Wednesday, 14 March 2012 02:25 (fourteen years ago)

Love how this series has had two of the least sexy **** ***s of all time.

Eric H., Wednesday, 14 March 2012 02:25 (fourteen years ago)

@ENBB -- yup. it was essentially why I showed up an hour later than usual to work for like a period of two weeks, cuz I'd literally watch eps until A. my eyelids got heavy or b. the clock said 2 am.

Bo Jackson Overdrive, Wednesday, 14 March 2012 02:26 (fourteen years ago)

the day taht I got to the last episode I actually couldn't sleep cuz i was excited to wake up and watch it but wanted to make sure I was well-rested

Bo Jackson Overdrive, Wednesday, 14 March 2012 02:27 (fourteen years ago)

OMG stop! I am now sitting here trying to figure out if you're all still playing and or not and trying to fill in your damn blanks.

wolf kabob (ENBB), Wednesday, 14 March 2012 02:28 (fourteen years ago)

ha, this is one of the only shows that i'm really into and WON'T watch obsessively - there was always a terrible sense of dread going into each new episode, i would put off seeing the latest one for like 2 weeks sometimes.

I finished the last episode of s3 at about 1 AM with work the next day. Was so pumped up after I had to get out of bed and pace around the house for about an hour.
