No prog. No samba. No fun.

Alba (Alba), Friday, 10 June 2005 23:47 (twenty-one years ago)

Pity. I always find that "Supper's Ready" gets the party started.

KeefW (kmw), Friday, 10 June 2005 23:49 (twenty-one years ago)

are you not getting samba ya bamba to accompany you, alba?

jed_ (jed), Friday, 10 June 2005 23:50 (twenty-one years ago)

samba ya bamba playing along to alba playing 'supper's ready. now that would be a real treat.

stirmonster (stirmonster), Friday, 10 June 2005 23:53 (twenty-one years ago)

With Max Carlish as freaky dancer. Up Kate.

Alba (Alba), Friday, 10 June 2005 23:55 (twenty-one years ago)

stirmonster - your services are required here

ways in which your street differs from [UK Soap] street.

jed_ (jed), Friday, 10 June 2005 23:56 (twenty-one years ago)

Goodnight! I'm off to bed.

KeefW (kmw), Friday, 10 June 2005 23:56 (twenty-one years ago)

I'm not entirely sure I have ever heard 'Supper's Ready', though I have read about it a lot. I did download 'Follow You Follow Me' yesterday though. It's a treat.

Night Keith. Think I am too. I'm actually working tomorrow, prior to the Samba Y Phila explosion.

Alba (Alba), Friday, 10 June 2005 23:57 (twenty-one years ago)

ok jed i shall check out yr soap thread before heading of to bed too. night all.

stirmonster (stirmonster), Saturday, 11 June 2005 00:00 (twenty-one years ago)

I was just talking about the Woodside with Ally C, last week. I wish I could be there. Ggod night, glasgow.

Tracer Hand (tracerhand), Saturday, 11 June 2005 00:03 (twenty-one years ago)

I knew I'd regret stacey's new job

RJG (RJG), Saturday, 11 June 2005 15:31 (twenty-one years ago)

hello. is this the real, glasgy thread?

mullygrubbr (bulbs), Saturday, 11 June 2005 15:44 (twenty-one years ago)

is there an end-of-148 party?

cozen (Cozen), Saturday, 11 June 2005 17:53 (twenty-one years ago)

It's already been demolished. Look sharp grandad.

Alba (Alba), Saturday, 11 June 2005 18:22 (twenty-one years ago)

how was your gig, Alba?

jed_ (jed), Sunday, 12 June 2005 11:59 (twenty-one years ago)

party in the rubble.

jed_ (jed), Sunday, 12 June 2005 12:00 (twenty-one years ago)

It was OK. Foxface were good again but it was bit empty and I went on first so my DJ skills were not really tested.

Alba (Alba), Sunday, 12 June 2005 12:08 (twenty-one years ago)

What 'bombs did you drop'?

KeefW (kmw), Sunday, 12 June 2005 12:10 (twenty-one years ago)

Does stopping the wrong CD deck twice count as dropping a bomb?

Alba (Alba), Sunday, 12 June 2005 12:11 (twenty-one years ago)

word. i've been there.

jed_ (jed), Sunday, 12 June 2005 12:13 (twenty-one years ago)

That's a bonus. I'm a big fan of DJing mistakes. It adds character.

KeefW (kmw), Sunday, 12 June 2005 12:13 (twenty-one years ago)

There was hardly anyone there at that point, so there were no ironic cheers. In my defence, the CD player in question's LCD backlight was broken so I kept forgetting it was the one playing.

Alba (Alba), Sunday, 12 June 2005 12:19 (twenty-one years ago)

Sorry I didn't come out to lend support. But at least I have recovered from the land of the free. It is nice to be home. I was immediately bathed in sunshine and rained on at the same time. What a fucking beautiful country.

End of 148 party to be announced, soon.

Ally C (Ally C), Sunday, 12 June 2005 23:46 (twenty-one years ago)

it's been knocked down. keep up grandpa.

cozen (Cozen), Monday, 13 June 2005 06:05 (twenty-one years ago)

Peter Stringbender (PJ Miller), Monday, 13 June 2005 06:35 (twenty-one years ago)

So did one of you lot write into the Metro for today under a pseudonym or does RJG really have an admirer amongst the Metro-reading massive?

ailsa (ailsa), Monday, 13 June 2005 16:00 (twenty-one years ago)

RJG (RJG), Monday, 13 June 2005 16:37 (twenty-one years ago)

There are copies on the pavement, now.

Alba (Alba), Monday, 13 June 2005 17:03 (twenty-one years ago)

Onimo (GerryNemo), Tuesday, 14 June 2005 14:15 (twenty-one years ago)

I am waiting for my flight and hotel reservations to be confirmed. (Thursday before I know)

aldo_cowpat (aldo_cowpat), Tuesday, 14 June 2005 14:18 (twenty-one years ago)

Stirmonster,

Yes it's the same Dave; at least, he has a brother Peter. He claims the only thing he got involved in at school was in the early '70s when a bloke with a bicycle was mimicking an Evel Knievel stunt and attempting a jump over a number of schoolkids. One kid wouldn't join in, so Dave smacked him to get him to lie down!

Apparently, the guy became a motorbike stunt rider ultimately.

He doesn't remember your name though.

KeefW (kmw), Tuesday, 14 June 2005 16:12 (twenty-one years ago)

I am off work monday and tuesday next week.

I'm tempted by wolf eyes on the sunday evening.

cozen (Cozen), Tuesday, 14 June 2005 18:58 (twenty-one years ago)

What - they were only here last month. I thought they were American or Canadian or somesuch. Go home!

Alba (Alba), Tuesday, 14 June 2005 19:07 (twenty-one years ago)

yes, all north americans should just give up and go home

dahlin (dahlin), Tuesday, 14 June 2005 19:26 (twenty-one years ago)

If Wolf Eyes get a job at the Metro, they can stay.

Alba (Alba), Tuesday, 14 June 2005 19:28 (twenty-one years ago)

RJG (RJG), Tuesday, 14 June 2005 20:59 (twenty-one years ago)

We are playing on Sunday too. We are competing with Marceline!

Ally C (Ally C), Tuesday, 14 June 2005 21:42 (twenty-one years ago)

hey keef. i think it was the brother peter i knew. he tried to beat me up and steal an ac / dc album from me when i was about 11.

stirmonster (stirmonster), Wednesday, 15 June 2005 01:30 (twenty-one years ago)

nothing much happens at metro

dahlin (dahlin), Wednesday, 15 June 2005 18:12 (twenty-one years ago)

dahlin i have an urgent question and i feel that i need to consult the metro for advice, how might i contact them?

Homosexual II (Homosexual II), Wednesday, 15 June 2005 18:17 (twenty-one years ago)

dahlin, I passed a whole wall of posters today which said "dahling" on them today and bright and cheery letters. Your shameless self-promotion is a wonderful thing.

Cook, when and where are Doctor Dot playing?

ailsa (ailsa), Wednesday, 15 June 2005 18:51 (twenty-one years ago)

hey keef. i think it was the brother peter i knew. he tried to beat me up and steal an ac / dc album from me when i was about 11.

Dave wasn't in work today, but I'll let him know. I'm sure he'll be glad it wasn't him. He doesn't really seem like the type, right enough. Still, at least when his brother beat you up it was to steal an AC/DC album.
