note: the above-referenced drunk thread does not make me any less scared out of my mind about earthquakes...

and the cat is now completely wasted, passed-out-dead-to-the world-from martini-overload, "CAT-A-TONIC" (she hates tonic!!)

I am sorta "home-alone" scared yet anticipating the "Big One" and freakin' out myself, (and I didn't drink ANY tonic)!

Wiggy Woo, Friday, 9 January 2009 05:38 (seventeen years ago)

I demand a series of drunken wiggy woo posts to accompany all california earthquake revives from now on

TOMBOT, Friday, 9 January 2009 05:55 (seventeen years ago)

it's been downgraded to 4.5
no offense wiggy but it was over in less than 3secs, one a few months ago was much scarier

velko, Friday, 9 January 2009 06:11 (seventeen years ago)

This quake was less than 5 miles from me! Even then, I barely felt it.

naus, Friday, 9 January 2009 06:18 (seventeen years ago)

Hi Velko & naus, tonight I am a home-alone-alarmist, i felt the bigger one a few months ago and made a similar fuss. no offense taken....anytime the earth even jiggles for one second, I freak out (yes I am a native and born in Santa Monica)

ha ha ha, Tombot, don't make me scare you with my drunken posts for they often involve photos; and just last month my photo post horrified the lady of ILX, Ms. ENBB. She will fookin hunt me down and kill me if I again post my middleage sorryazz self to ILX. The traffic generated was scandalous and caused internet freeze/meltdown, for no damn good reason, it was all hearsay, based I guess on Ms. ENBB! ROFFLES!!! nothing funny here, move along...

Wiggy Woo, Friday, 9 January 2009 06:53 (seventeen years ago)

Feeling semi*-vindicated-
b/c cal tech is saying that this was an unusual quake causing stronger waves that may result in stronger waves in certain areas. Whatever the heck that means... (and I love Dr. Lucy Jones and Dr. Kate Hutton) this fellow was not anything except a spokesperson for Caltech... nervously yours, wiggy. **please be here when the horrid real thing eventually happens**

Wiggy Woo, Friday, 9 January 2009 07:16 (seventeen years ago)

This guy is predicting a 6.4 to 6.8 mag quake in California between now and Wednesday
http://www.quakeprediction.com/

Quack alert: He's considering the ground heating from all the fires as a significant factor.

Elvis Telecom, Tuesday, 6 October 2009 02:27 (sixteen years ago)

quack alert: the ads for "evony" and world of warcraft on his site. oh, and the text ad for "artery clearing secret."

but i could be wrong!

dudamel (get bent), Tuesday, 6 October 2009 03:25 (sixteen years ago)

naus, Saturday, 16 January 2010 12:17 (sixteen years ago)

We are feeling this same feeling in the Bay area as well.

shiksa kabab (get bent), Sunday, 14 February 2010 01:04 (sixteen years ago)

Missed it. I was in San Pedro

Elvis Telecom, Sunday, 14 February 2010 04:47 (sixteen years ago)

Facebook friends in San Diego report feeling one just about 20 minutes ago. A 4.5 20 mi. E of Rosarito.

People, keep a pair of shoes next to the bed and know where your gas shutoff is located.

naus, Sunday, 14 February 2010 22:07 (sixteen years ago)

Another one last night, and two today. I'm guessing I'm the only IE person on this board, and that you LA/OC people aren't feeling them, but the San Jacinto Fault has been on fire lately!

A friend sent me this link to an animation detailing some of the recent seismic activity:

naus, Thursday, 18 February 2010 04:33 (sixteen years ago)

Ned Raggett, Tuesday, 16 March 2010 12:39 (sixteen years ago)

gabourey weaver (get bent), Tuesday, 16 March 2010 18:38 (sixteen years ago)

puff puff post (uh oh I'm having a fantasy), Tuesday, 16 March 2010 18:40 (sixteen years ago)

Very noticeable in Glendale. Felt the waves pulsing through the floor of the house. Could have sworn that it was a big quake farther away

Elvis Telecom, Tuesday, 16 March 2010 19:57 (sixteen years ago)

yeah, weird one

velko, Sunday, 4 April 2010 22:47 (sixteen years ago)

i felt nothing! but we were driving and the roads around here can be bumpy.

SANAA Na (get bent), Sunday, 4 April 2010 23:00 (sixteen years ago)

It reminded me of the Sylmar quake of 71 (as much as I can remember that far back) - just a gentle roll that lasted a while. I was in Oxnard at the time, and it was my first quake.

nickn, Sunday, 4 April 2010 23:53 (sixteen years ago)

Driving on the bumpy part of the 5 in Highland Park with a car full of guitars/amps. Didn't notice a thing.
