julian dicks looks like he might retain a passing interest in tracking down nonces and telling them to have a word with themselves

After retiring as a footballer, Dicks took up golf and soon turned professional, but was forced to give this career up due to his knee injury. He does, however, still play golf recreationally. In 2001 he made a brief return to football after signing for non-League Canvey Island, but played only four matches. He went on to run the Shepherd & Dog Public House in Langham, near Colchester, Essex, before moving to Spain.

truly he is the platonic ideal of a retired west ham player

please change the subject. When I hear the name Julian Dicks my mind goes to other terrible Liverpool signings...Don Hutchinson, Neil Ruddock...Shudder.

Drogba with gets the second, which is his 99th PL goal. He's no Wayne Rooney

Number None, Saturday, 25 February 2012 16:21 (fourteen years ago)

It speaks for Carroll's progress that he's not on that list

Ismael Klata, Saturday, 25 February 2012 16:22 (fourteen years ago)

Miyachi looks decent

Number None, Saturday, 25 February 2012 16:22 (fourteen years ago)

FPocalypto! (Noodle Vague), Saturday, 25 February 2012 16:23 (fourteen years ago)

The term “hipster racism” from Carmen Van Kerckhove at Racialicious (nakhchivan), Saturday, 25 February 2012 16:23 (fourteen years ago)

unfuckingbelievable :D

FPocalypto! (Noodle Vague), Saturday, 25 February 2012 16:25 (fourteen years ago)

"an astonishing come-back from Wolves" sums it up nicely

fantasy points soften the blow for me

pandemic, Saturday, 25 February 2012 16:46 (fourteen years ago)

reckless challenge from Ameobi but apparently that's only a yellow when you're playing us

FPocalypto! (Noodle Vague), Saturday, 25 February 2012 16:49 (fourteen years ago)

this has been the first football we've played in months

FPocalypto! (Noodle Vague), Saturday, 25 February 2012 16:50 (fourteen years ago)

lol give Connor the 5 year contract now

FPocalypto! (Noodle Vague), Saturday, 25 February 2012 16:56 (fourteen years ago)

Blimey, Sunderland got absolutely caned today. By West Brom!

Good point for Noodle's boys even if they hadn't been 2-0 down imo

pandemic, Saturday, 25 February 2012 16:57 (fourteen years ago)

Newcastle seemed at 90 percent for a lot of it, but we kept the ball, played some good stuff at times and def deserved the draw. several players still clearly not good enough but if this side of us - which appeared v. intermittently under mick this season - is down to Connor then i've just become cautiously optimistic

FPocalypto! (Noodle Vague), Saturday, 25 February 2012 17:00 (fourteen years ago)

boo! how inane. he'll never top 'why always me' at this rate.

kid steel (cajunsunday), Saturday, 25 February 2012 18:04 (fourteen years ago)

thought nn was advocating a 'fuckin rotted cocks' or, even more random, a 'pogbryniak looks ok for fulham' t-shirt

steep? that's where i'm off hiking (darraghmac), Saturday, 25 February 2012 18:15 (fourteen years ago)

sure, i'd buy it

Number None, Saturday, 25 February 2012 18:24 (fourteen years ago)

Nult should have his own t-shirt line probably

Number None, Saturday, 25 February 2012 18:25 (fourteen years ago)

Managed to get a friend to give me 2/1 odds on Arsenal winning tomorrow. Surprisingly much much better than the bookies are offering. Still could just double the pain though - expecting a rout tbh.

Upt0eleven, Saturday, 25 February 2012 20:49 (fourteen years ago)

I'll be at work during the game. Secretly hoping for a 0-6 stuffing that makes Wenger resign in disgrace... and I see that as a more realistic option than us winning tbh.

a hoy hoy, Saturday, 25 February 2012 20:51 (fourteen years ago)

i don't see us winning fwiw, would take a draw now

steep? that's where i'm off hiking (darraghmac), Saturday, 25 February 2012 21:32 (fourteen years ago)

lol what's with jol/sparky happyslap

has motson always called drogba drogbar?

second only to popcorn (or something), Saturday, 25 February 2012 23:20 (fourteen years ago)

yes, but i noticed he's mangling it to a great extent than ever before

Number None, Saturday, 25 February 2012 23:29 (fourteen years ago)

he's always said it a great deal

the pinefox, Saturday, 25 February 2012 23:36 (fourteen years ago)

Hughes non-handshake / flamboyant slap thing -- what an insufferable tosser. didn't he do the same thing with someone, can't remember who, when City manager

the pinefox, Saturday, 25 February 2012 23:37 (fourteen years ago)

Certainly with Pulis, initiated by Pulis iirc tbf. There may've been others.

xp Motson says it as two words as well I think. Didier Drog Bar.

Ismael Klata, Saturday, 25 February 2012 23:40 (fourteen years ago)

how characteristically irritating of him. also the football league show credits remain weird and terrible and why is the music under them so muffled? idgi.

second only to popcorn (or something), Saturday, 25 February 2012 23:51 (fourteen years ago)

Hughes' insufferable tosserdom extends miles beyond handshake etiquette.

FPocalypto! (Noodle Vague), Sunday, 26 February 2012 01:20 (fourteen years ago)

i know it's been repeated over and over but sometimes one forgets until one tries to get useful information out of it - the BBC's new football site is a fucking disgrace

FPocalypto! (Noodle Vague), Sunday, 26 February 2012 01:25 (fourteen years ago)

Yes it is still fucking horrible. And they have got rid of the European league fixtures/results/tables like OMG I HATE YOU and I now have to use that ESPN website instead of what the fuck I PAY FOR THANK YOU WASTED LICENSE FEE THE WEBSITE AND OCCASIONALLY RADIO 4 IS ALL I FUCKING USE AND NOW IT IS JUST OCCASIONALLY RADIO 4

Spot the odd one out?

Gary Barlow is to record a version of classic George Harrison hit Here Comes The Sun - for Marks & Spencer.

The X Factor judge has tied up a deal with the chain for its summer advertising campaign.

A source said he will fly to South Africa on Friday to begin filming with M&S models Twiggy, Dannii Minogue, Lisa Snowdon, Noemie Lenoir and Jamie Redknapp.

steep? that's where i'm off hiking (darraghmac), Sunday, 26 February 2012 09:47 (fourteen years ago)

really Hughes' horrid way of slapping people away at handshakes says a lot about him
it clarifies how I don't like him
though I didn't dislike him as a player

Arsenal 3-1 Tottenham?

the pinefox, Sunday, 26 February 2012 12:03 (fourteen years ago)

Enjoy the game Ismael!

Predicting a 2-2 draw.

pandemic, Sunday, 26 February 2012 12:14 (fourteen years ago)

3-1 = £40

But no chance. In that I simply can't imagine who would score those goals and not concede the other ones.

Upt0eleven, Sunday, 26 February 2012 12:15 (fourteen years ago)

I'm not exactly one of football's sophisticated thinkers.

Upt0eleven, Sunday, 26 February 2012 12:16 (fourteen years ago)

This is usually an absolute humdinger with at least five goals in it but it looks like BAE and Adebayor will be out so I'm a bit worried, even given the flimsy nature of Arsenal's defence.

Homosexual Satan Wasp (Matt DC), Sunday, 26 February 2012 12:19 (fourteen years ago)

The implacable Frenchman will have been anticipating that a performance against his club's bitterest rivals will have could silence the voices of those who have believed that it will have been time for him to have moved on.
