stevie, i was thinking about your question with regard to why lindsay lohan was thought of as a great actress, and it occurred to me that her talent shared a similar appeal to that of a young shannen doherty. there was something there that everybody could like, all ages and personalities. an innocence, an astuteness and an openness -- with looks as a double-weapon. it created for something palpably different and engaging. that is the most surprising part of all of it -- that something so convincing could go so astray.
