Thought it was great tonight, but I'm a total Jane/Brad stan. Also big props to the rest of the cast for working so well together that the "cuuuuttee shirt" stuff worked.

encarta it (Gukbe), Thursday, 23 February 2012 04:29 (fourteen years ago)

at first i was feeling like the show was off, but then i loled so hard at

"oh my god. bird!"
"did you have a stroke? it's brad."

horseshoe, Thursday, 23 February 2012 04:29 (fourteen years ago)

Brad's face when Penny explained the door metaphor was a gem. Also their fake fight was good. And "The Vanilla is ME".

encarta it (Gukbe), Thursday, 23 February 2012 04:33 (fourteen years ago)

Yes, the fake fight was amazing.

Johnny Fever, Thursday, 23 February 2012 16:10 (fourteen years ago)

Jane/Brad are my favorite tv couple at this point.

Johnny Fever, Thursday, 23 February 2012 16:10 (fourteen years ago)

the episode was built around a bunch of not funny premises but i still laughed a lot

also i feel like this show is making fun of how much a say things in a stupid exaggerated way with my friends or s.thing idk

j., Thursday, 23 February 2012 19:07 (fourteen years ago)

I wanna seem them THAAANGS

basically every time Damon says this, it is hilarious

(thinks and smiles) (DJP), Thursday, 23 February 2012 19:08 (fourteen years ago)

the crazy thing about this show is that zachary knighton isn't even a lame 'leading man' weak link anymore, everybody's pretty funny

some dude, Thursday, 23 February 2012 19:11 (fourteen years ago)

i think you meant to write 'cool' not lame

99x (Lamp), Thursday, 23 February 2012 19:13 (fourteen years ago)

He was funnier than usual last night, but I'm not ready yet to elevate him to "not lame" status.

Johnny Fever, Thursday, 23 February 2012 19:43 (fourteen years ago)

No half-naked James Wolk but still awesome (the fake fight was stupid-good)

ha a couple episodes ago when everyone was contemptuous of elisha cuthbert for adding the letter "m" at the beginning of words, i was like...i do that. :/

horseshoe, Friday, 24 February 2012 15:21 (fourteen years ago)

mappetizers

horseshoe, Friday, 24 February 2012 15:21 (fourteen years ago)

wait i guess they were contemptuous of max. whatever.

horseshoe, Friday, 24 February 2012 15:22 (fourteen years ago)

I think I said this on another thread but the cast synergy on this show is outrageous

Let A Man Come In And Do The Cop Porn (Tarfumes The Escape Goat), Thursday, 1 March 2012 04:22 (fourteen years ago)

The entire scene with Penny stashing the food was funny AND had me on the edge of my seat.

Johnny Fever, Thursday, 1 March 2012 06:37 (fourteen years ago)

Cuthbert had a great throwaway line coming into the apartment in that scene, but I forget what it was now.

The food-on-the-fan was genius. "I am not proud of that."

also: pajoveralls

some dude, Thursday, 1 March 2012 18:23 (fourteen years ago)

haha the mole comment was hilarious.

i also liked the comment, "judgment is the gluten of thoughts" (or something like that??)

jane used to drive me a little bit nuts, but this season she has been really great!

rayuela, Thursday, 1 March 2012 18:27 (fourteen years ago)

"I signed us up for a mini-triathlon, so if anyone asks...we're dwarves."

Also, just remembered when Dave walked into the restaurant dressed like Freddy.

A+ episode imo

Johnny Fever, Thursday, 1 March 2012 18:31 (fourteen years ago)

I like how the Max-with-two-identical-stuffed-animals gag is becoming a runner this season (cubs, horses).

Let A Man Come In And Do The Cop Porn (Tarfumes The Escape Goat), Thursday, 1 March 2012 18:35 (fourteen years ago)

A+

Tarfumes The Escape Goat, Saturday, 3 March 2012 03:59 (fourteen years ago)

Man, you guys really make me want to like this show. Not sure I'm up to it though.

EveningStar (Sund4r), Saturday, 3 March 2012 04:46 (fourteen years ago)

At first I thought I was overrating it due to Community withdrawal (they share producers, and a few writers). But now I think I'm digging it on its own terms, particularly the Wayans/Coupe juggernaut.

Tarfumes The Escape Goat, Saturday, 3 March 2012 04:56 (fourteen years ago)

this is p much the best show on rn

the stuff of slumber frights (Lamp), Saturday, 3 March 2012 07:01 (fourteen years ago)

Wow. Either this show suddenly became great in its last two episodes or I'm really ILE-impressionable.

EveningStar (Sund4r), Friday, 9 March 2012 05:47 (fourteen years ago)

Actually thought the last episode was one of the weaker ones this season. I think you're just ILE-impressionable, or maybe we all develop our H.E. (or the Coupe/Wayans) love at different stages.

stay in school if you want to kiw (Gukbe), Friday, 9 March 2012 05:48 (fourteen years ago)

yah the most recent episode was kinda lol free but then they should leave the lame 80s pop culture homages to lesser coms imo

Lamp, Friday, 9 March 2012 05:54 (fourteen years ago)

There were lolz when Wayans was being convinced that he rented Mamma Mia, but yeah, the scavenger hunt plotline didn't really produce the lolz.

stay in school if you want to kiw (Gukbe), Friday, 9 March 2012 05:55 (fourteen years ago)

oh, and Wayans playing the guilt card with his shrugging.

stay in school if you want to kiw (Gukbe), Friday, 9 March 2012 05:56 (fourteen years ago)

Oh, the scavenger hunt subplot kind of sucked but I liked the whole Kerkovich mindfuck thing. Was pretty into "Cocktails and Dreams" though.

EveningStar (Sund4r), Friday, 9 March 2012 06:02 (fourteen years ago)

always good to see richard edson

j., Friday, 9 March 2012 06:06 (fourteen years ago)

Yeah, I did like that.

EveningStar (Sund4r), Friday, 9 March 2012 06:07 (fourteen years ago)

Ooh this sounds great. Off to check it out.

Nathalie (stevienixed), Friday, 9 March 2012 09:07 (fourteen years ago)

this show is great, but i find myself sad bc there wasn't a new ep of suburgatory this week...

yeah i basically never need to see any tip of the hat to john hughes movies ever for the rest of my life

HalfNelson (some dude), Friday, 9 March 2012 14:29 (fourteen years ago)

idk, that was pretty awful and played out, but "the Kerkovich thing" saved the episode

stan this sick bunt (jon /via/ chi 2.0), Friday, 9 March 2012 14:37 (fourteen years ago)

yeah i wasn't dissing the episode on the whole, thought it was not their best but still pretty funny

HalfNelson (some dude), Friday, 9 March 2012 15:15 (fourteen years ago)

yeah i basically never need to see any tip of the hat to john hughes movies ever for the rest of my life

this. Never found Hughes to be the least bit hat-tip worthy. This episode had its moments (as usual, those with Jane and Brad), but I found it kind of flat.

Casey Wilson's delivery on "My plates never grew together" was A+, though.

we can be gyros just for one day (Tarfumes The Escape Goat), Friday, 9 March 2012 15:30 (fourteen years ago)

oh my god, every episode should be Penny's birthday

thuggish ruggish Brahms (DJP), Thursday, 15 March 2012 02:02 (fourteen years ago)

I didn't remember until I saw Dave's high school ex that the pilot was Penny's birthday too. Well played, Happy Endings.

Mary Tyler Moore Tyler Moore Moore Moore.

I don't remember the exchange verbatim, but...

"Your freakish upper body strength."
"Like a maaaaaaan."
