sunny successor (he hates my guts, we had a fight) (katharine), Friday, 26 August 2005 15:45 (twenty years ago)

we should use these as interstatials on an ILX cd.

Also, at Poptimism.

Rock Hardy (Rock Hardy), Friday, 26 August 2005 15:54 (twenty years ago)

I think these should be distributed as their own cd!

roxymuzak (roxymuzak), Friday, 26 August 2005 19:12 (twenty years ago)

And verily he spake unto them, saying "Yeah, though thou thinkest thou knowest me, thou art not knowest butt."

Rest assured that when the sum total of Jinglesource ILX products has reached standard CD length (possibly excepting longer "special product" pieces, for shuffling reasons), a YSI zip file of the full catalog will be provided.

It makes us sad that you, our honorable clients, would openly speculate as to our identities in a public forum, despite having every opportunity to contact us and interact with our fine staff directly.

John Jacob Jinglesmith, Friday, 26 August 2005 19:42 (twenty years ago)

And a dozen "It's really you, ______, isn't it?" e-mails are unleashed.

Pleasant Plains /// (Pleasant Plains ///), Friday, 26 August 2005 19:55 (twenty years ago)

So wait, Maria's radio station gets a jingle, but I don't? I cry foul! I demand a ScOtt La Rock epic!!!!

scott seward (scott seward), Friday, 26 August 2005 22:22 (twenty years ago)

It's really sad that I'm counting how far away I am from getting my own jingle, but my new PC arrives tomorrow and I have plans to use it as my 'windows finally started' tune.

The jingles posted so far are all brilliant and ilx may well be finally attained the lofty heights it has so long aspired to, or something.

I think I need to have lie down.

Onimo (GerryNemo), Friday, 26 August 2005 23:05 (twenty years ago)

THe orginal batch have expired! THat's sad! Luckily I have them all saved right here

roxymuzak (roxymuzak), Saturday, 27 August 2005 00:33 (twenty years ago)

ai lien (kold_krush), Saturday, 27 August 2005 05:19 (twenty years ago)

i reckon Jinglesource is gonna STORM up the ILX Audioscrobbler charts.

In a nailbiter, the new Rachel Stevens just barely edges out Jinglesource's "Official Ronan Entry Theme" on the new weekly tracks chart. "Adam in Real Life" also finishes in the top 10. Further down, amidst all the new Broken Social Scene and Kanye West tracks, "I'm playing it cool but it's terribly cruel / Kate" is at #28; "jaymc" and "Reading Massive" are at #49; and "Hi I'm Jared Fogle" is at #64.

jaymc (jaymc), Monday, 29 August 2005 16:40 (twenty years ago)

I'm really regretting not posting to this thread when there were only two responses. I would therefore like to sign up for a "jingle"

Dom Passantino (Dom Passantino), Monday, 29 August 2005 19:47 (twenty years ago)

It's Gareth, innit?

The Original Jimmy Mod: Kind Warrior (The Famous Jimmy Mod), Monday, 29 August 2005 20:27 (twenty years ago)

The Original Jimmy Mod: Kind Warrior (The Famous Jimmy Mod), Wednesday, 31 August 2005 01:45 (twenty years ago)

jaymc (jaymc), Wednesday, 31 August 2005 02:28 (twenty years ago)

We apologize for the delay. We've been busy dealing with a critical air-pump malfunction, and the octopus that plays the xylophone has a serious ink-sack infection. In addition, someone (who shall remain named Jimmy Tan) forgot to send in the check to our ISP, so they finally cut off our service, and we've been offline for the past few days. In the meantime, we've tried to steal time here and there to get started on the next batch of jingles, many of which are already complete. Look forward to a weekend mega-post.

John Jacob Jinglesmith, Wednesday, 31 August 2005 15:43 (twenty years ago)

I will indeed look forward, JJJ.

jaymc (jaymc), Wednesday, 31 August 2005 15:46 (twenty years ago)

your jinglin baby

Lupton Pitman (Chris V), Wednesday, 31 August 2005 15:49 (twenty years ago)

If mine is not completed yet, I would also be happy with a jingle in the style of Special K.

thanks JJJ! We're all anticipating.

Sterling Clover (s_clover), Wednesday, 31 August 2005 15:55 (twenty years ago)

Can you somehow work the word "rodeo" into the WVVY jingle? The IRS thinks we're MV Community Rodeo.

Maria :D (Maria D.), Wednesday, 31 August 2005 16:53 (twenty years ago)

Would the WVVY marketing team be content to have the station referred to in station-ID jingle form as double-YOU double-VEE WHY? Or is it important to say VEE VEE WHY?

John Jocob Jinglesmith, Wednesday, 31 August 2005 16:56 (twenty years ago)

double You double Vee Why is oh-so-fine.

Maria :D (Maria D.), Wednesday, 31 August 2005 17:12 (twenty years ago)

Raw. Stripped-down. Back to basics. Real, authentic, hardcore jingling. Four of these five tracks are recommended. Can you guess which ones?

We can't apologize enough for the delay. It's just that ... well, the infection got worse, and I'm sad to say the octopus wasn't doing very well, and nobody goes on forever, I'm not going to go on forever, you're not going to go on forever, and now the octopus has passed away. I would have posted a thread about it, but the last thing the octopus told me was "Don't bother ILX, they're enjoying their weekend. They're busy, don't spoil the weekend for them." The service was wonderful, though, very well-attended, and the pastor spoke beautifully. Like a friend. The food the first night wasn't so good, it was just deli, but after that people brought things over, and it was all delicious -- we still have some in the fridge.

As far as PayPal goes, surely you jest! I can't imagine why anyone would send us money. If anyone is seriously dying to give me stuff, I'll happily set up an account, but I think you're just being silly.

John Jacob Jinglesmith, Tuesday, 6 September 2005 14:25 (twenty years ago)
