it really doesn't seem like he wants to write Achewood anymore, he's just using the characters because they give him more of an audience than if he started something new.

every time this thread is revived i end up rereading a bunch of achewood and just falling in love with it again.

I can't help but think that this is a horrible misstep. Then again, the Drinky Crow show was good for its short but entertaining run. But, achewood...

Onstad's clean lines should make this fairly cheap and easy to animate, which that snippet sort of confirms (to the extent that ten seconds of video can confirm anything).

Can't watch the clip till I get home, but I find it extremely hard to imagine a real life voice that would capture Roast Beef.

just the comic timing in general of that footage is insanely off

well, nothing is final considering they're shopping test footage and have created zero actual episodes!

Onstad as Beef was pretty good I thought, but yeah, that ain't right for Ray.

it does feel a little flat but maybe that's because i'm already familiar with the jokes. i can't imagine the comics being acted out any other way. timing does seem weird.

the voices are certainly jarring but again... i don't know how i'd expect ray to sound. the voice as-is is a little weird, but i hope and assume that will be refined. i think i might have expected ray to speak with enthusiasm in the place of a funky accent.

my least fav voice is philippe - just seems like generic child voice, which i always find grating

best voice of the test footage was tina though, for sure. "terrible". curious as to how they'll flesh out the less-explored characters. i was always curious about tina and hearing her talk in her terrible voice confirmed my suspicions about who she was i think
