as far as i can tell, Message on mountain lion doesn't receive SMS, it can only receive messages sent to your iMessage account

More like more confusing: if someone has your iMessage email and your phone number in the same contact entry for you, they have to jump through massive hoops to send you an SMS.

Otherwise what *they* think is a text from their phone to yours is actually going to turned into an iMessage which may turn up on your Mac, iPad and hopefully iPhone.

This method worked well for a number of files of varying size and format. For example, everything from a 149 KB PDF to a 101.4 MB MOV were quickly dispatched to my iPhone with a drag and drop. I tried to throw a 194 MB MOV file to the iPhone, but was informed that the file was too large.

This sounds like a solution to a problem people aren't having. Or if they are, a problem for which this is a pretty bad solution.

Keeps things easier. Anyway, some of the tech stuff so far:

- 2048 x 1536 resolution. Higher than a 1080p display. 3.1 million pixels, 264 pixels per inch, "enough to call it a retina display". iPhone 4 was held at 10 inches, iPad held at 15".
- 44% greater color saturation.
- A5X Processor, quad-core graphics.
- New iSight Camera. 5MP rear camera, backside illuminated sensor on the back, 5-element lens, IR filter, and ISP built into A5X chip. Same design as iPhone 4S. Auto-exposure, auto-focus.
- HD video recording in 1080p.
- Voice dictation.

Resolution makes it worth an upgrade for me - reading text/websites on the iPad 2 is terrible for me, I can read for much longer stretches on my phone.
