I don't understand it.

Inevitable stupid samba mix (chap), Sunday, 19 February 2012 21:03 (fourteen years ago)

Ser Pounce == a kitteh. I forget which book he shows up in, but it's not the first, oops spoilers.

omar 13337713 (Leee), Sunday, 19 February 2012 21:09 (fourteen years ago)

I've read up to the third and I don't recall Ser Pounce. It wouldn't be surprising if he's been in it and I've forgotten, I have trouble keeping track of all the human minor characters.

Get it now, I'd never heard of shipping used that way before.

I do a lot of mail order fan fiction. Free shipping!

Watched that season 2 trailer several times. It looks amazing and I haven't even seen season 1 yet. I can't believe I'll be waiting another year for it to hit DVD.

Moodles, Wednesday, 29 February 2012 02:17 (fourteen years ago)

do people really wait for tv shows to come out on dvd? and if so, why.

obliquity of the ecliptic (rrrobyn), Wednesday, 29 February 2012 05:19 (fourteen years ago)

I like a lot of HBO-type shows better in DVD (or Netflix/OnDemand/etc.) form - I want to be able to jump right into the next episode instead of waiting a week.

Kiarostami bag (milo z), Wednesday, 29 February 2012 05:41 (fourteen years ago)

Me too. I've been waiting for the first season to come out on blu ray so I can watch it over and over in glorious hi def

Moodles, Wednesday, 29 February 2012 05:52 (fourteen years ago)

Don't really have the time or inclination to mess with torrents or something similar.

Moodles, Wednesday, 29 February 2012 05:53 (fourteen years ago)

Torrents are so easy!

Inevitable stupid samba mix (chap), Wednesday, 29 February 2012 15:42 (fourteen years ago)

not easy enough for me and I can't watch them on my TV

Moodles, Wednesday, 29 February 2012 16:04 (fourteen years ago)

hm well it seems up to personal preference then. i watch everything on my computer anyway. which i realize is abhorrent to people who have nice TVs. i will admit that watching movies/tv on a real tv is better (tho not like mindblowingly better). but waiting a year to watch new eps of GoTs is far worse imo.

obliquity of the ecliptic (rrrobyn), Wednesday, 29 February 2012 17:54 (fourteen years ago)

I have a TV that I can connect to the Internet/stream my PC content to

fuck a torrent, tho

Vaseline MEN AMAZING JOURNEY (DJP), Wednesday, 29 February 2012 17:55 (fourteen years ago)

I can't stand watching stuff on the computer unless I have to --- we have our PS3 networked so Mr Veg can pull the torrents down onto his hard-drive and we can watch via the ps3/tv in the living room. LIVING IN THE FUTURE

Peppermint Patty Hearst (VegemiteGrrl), Wednesday, 29 February 2012 18:47 (fourteen years ago)

torrents are my friend

not so much for movies anymore, but for TV it's awesomesauce

Peppermint Patty Hearst (VegemiteGrrl), Wednesday, 29 February 2012 18:48 (fourteen years ago)

sorry

I'm rewatching the first season, and I have to confess, I don't mind Ros at all.

Nude Gingrich (Leee), Sunday, 4 March 2012 22:23 (fourteen years ago)

I can see why she's there, they needed to explain plots/backstory. I hadn't read the books yet when I watched the series and I didn't find her annoying.

Respectfully, Tyrese Gibson (Nicole), Sunday, 4 March 2012 22:36 (fourteen years ago)

i love the bit in that trailer where john snow says "better than three defeats"

I'm going to allow this! (LocalGarda), Sunday, 4 March 2012 22:50 (fourteen years ago)

thats robb stark actually iirc

ciderpress, Sunday, 4 March 2012 23:14 (fourteen years ago)

You can tell because Robb's mouth isn't hanging open all the time.

Nude Gingrich (Leee), Sunday, 4 March 2012 23:20 (fourteen years ago)

Meanwhile over on The Simpsons:

Jon Snow looks more and more like Dave Gahan. This is not a compliment.

Respectfully, Tyrese Gibson (Nicole), Monday, 5 March 2012 16:39 (fourteen years ago)

To me he comes across as a guy trying way to hard to be dashing and suave. Just don't like him.

ive seen him in some other stuff and i think hes just like that all the time tbh

So I was re-watching Doctor Who's "The Time of Angels" and Father Octavian's archly suave and dulcet brogue really reminded me of someone... and sure enough, he's played by Iain Glen!!

Nude Gingrich (Leee), Wednesday, 7 March 2012 06:33 (fourteen years ago)

I realized that Iain Glen would be a perfect narrator for a nature documentary, which, come to think, is exactly what the Dothraki scenes are.

Johnny Favre (Leee), Sunday, 11 March 2012 22:16 (fourteen years ago)

Iain Glen is from what is commonly referred to as 'classic' but in reality is saying lines wistfully and looking into the distance,
